"Figure Detect" is a free adventure game where you can enjoy a mystery death game in the style of "Danganronpa".
Although it can be completed in about two to three hours, the story has a solid beginning, middle, and end, making it a very enjoyable mystery game.
This time, I'd like to introduce this game.
Figure Detect
Game Overview

While there are parts where you control the character and investigate, it's basically an adventure game where you choose options.
The story follows the protagonist, Simu, who becomes trapped in a virtual world he created and gets caught up in a death game.
Basically, the story progresses in the following order: daily life → incident → investigation → discussion → daily life...
All the characters are women, but each one is very well-developed.
The introduction and start of the game are short, and the story progresses at a good pace.
The difficulty of the deduction itself isn't particularly high, but there's a limit to the number of incorrect answers you're allowed to get wrong.
However, I felt that the game was very user-friendly, as even the more difficult deductions can be solved by brute force at worst.
thoughts
While adhering to the classic tropes of a death game, it also features plenty of original tricks that make use of its unique setting, making it a very enjoyable mystery game.
The quality of the story's flow and the way the mystery unfolds is quite high for a free game.
The setting and the mastermind character had a "Danganronpa" feel to them, which made it easy to get into the story.
The introductions and dialogues are concise and fast-paced, so there was no stress of thinking, "I wish they'd just let me play the main story already!"
The investigation part is over in no time, and you might wonder if you can really clear the game with just this much evidence, but you actually can.
I think it was a courageous decision to drastically simplify the investigation part in this section.
The discussion segments had a tense atmosphere filled with suspicion and distrust, and the background music included many catchy and cool tracks that really enhanced the game's excitement.
The feeling of satisfaction when your deductions are correct is similar to that of "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney."
The execution scenes were also great, in true Danganronpa fashion, being both comical and grotesque.
The graphics, including character illustrations, are still under development, but they match the game's atmosphere and I didn't find them particularly bothersome.
I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who enjoys mystery games or death games.
Spoilers included: Review, Impressive Tricks, etc.
From here on, there will be spoilers, and I will also be writing my thoughts on the characters, the tricks, and so on.

・Simulation
The protagonist had fairly normal sensibilities, so I didn't find it jarring.
"I don't have any friends in the real world..."Those words made me feel sad (lol).
Since he's a detective, he officially has the attribute of being immortal and can't be killed, so I could watch with peace of mind.
Ilicy
He's a handsome guy with excellent deductive skills, who is calm, reliable, and dependable.
I even suspected that he might resort to murder for Nem's sake, but that never happened.
・Zuzu
According to the rule that characters who speak samurai language are never bad people, he was indeed not a bad person.
The murder was unavoidable and was committed in self-defense, so it was a sad ending.
・Yaruya
I don't think he's skilled enough to deliberately act in order to gain trust, so I think he probably became confused in the latter half.
Because his face was disfigured, I briefly suspected a trick involving a body swap with the real culprit, but that wasn't the case.
・Usaki
I hadn't accepted the idea that it was a game world, and there was an unsettling feeling about the conversations during our free time.
She had a similar vibe to Celestia from "Danganronpa," so I had the impression that she was indeed the culprit.
・Nem
It was a shame that he was killed off so early on, especially since he already had so few speaking scenes.
Perhaps the poison spread more quickly because of its small size.
・ Aiha
There was an ominous feeling from the beginning, so I didn't think I'd survive until the end.
・Kudna
Despite her rather questionable attire and strong personality, she was killed off surprisingly quickly.
Given the aggressive statements he made, it's not surprising that he became a target.
Laela
In a way, he was someone I felt sorry for.
I get the feeling that the reason he orchestrated this game wasn't so much about revenge, but rather a desire to make people acknowledge his existence and to get their attention.
I think the reason he ultimately chose to end his own life was because he trusted that the simulation would give him a happy ending.
The Monokuma-like evilness was quite evident.
• The first incident
At first, I thought Yaruya was the culprit.
It's like jumping from the ground with Kudona and sneaking in through a window by myself.
However, given the issue of shoes on the rooftop and the lack of time, I thought it might not be the right choice after all, but surprisingly, it was Aiha.
The use of the unwritten rule that if one person dies, the second one won't, even if it was by chance, was quite clever.
I didn't notice any change in the shoes, as you might expect.
- The second incident
I suspected Yaruya was the culprit in this one too.
However, this was also a problem, as the lockers could not be easily broken into.
Even if Yaruya overheard the argument in the next room about poison, he wouldn't know it was in the locker, and he couldn't break it open immediately.
I thought the rabbit's "balance" made perfect sense.
• The third incident
I kind of understood that Yaruya was planning the murder.
However, since neither of the suspects seemed like bad people, I thought it was probably a case of self-defense.
I didn't notice the ponytail...
- The fourth incident
I was genuinely surprised to hear that Laela was a participant.
And I didn't consider it a problem in terms of direction.A misleading tactic that uses the color of blood to its advantage. It was nothing short of magnificent.
The twists were interesting: it made it seem like a suicide, then it turned out to be murder, then it was suicide again.
The fact that we still have to consider whether it was suicide or murder, even when only one suspect remains, is a situation that only works because Laela is the last one left, and it had a unique flavor.
