Manga "Jikenjaken!" (by Kosuke Yasuda) - Introduction and Review (All 7 Volumes)

Even if it's not quite a full-fledged mystery,"Jikenjaken!" is a comedy manga packed with mystery-like elements. This is an introductory article.
It's not as serious as "Hyouka," but I think it's a work that I can highly recommend to those who enjoyed the mystery episodes of "Sore demo Machi wa Mawatteiru."
(Completed in 7 volumes as of March 2020)

Mystery stories have always been a popular genre because the mystery drives the narrative, and the resolution of the mystery provides a sense of catharsis.

introduction

The protagonist, Toiri, has a crush on Shirogane Yuriko, a senior member of the Mystery Research Club, and joins the club with ulterior motives.
Yuriko-senpai is a beautiful woman with long, black hair, highly intelligent and athletically gifted, but she's also a huge mystery fanatic, and often goes overboard when it comes to mysteries.
This work is a comedy in which Toiri-kun is often at the mercy of Yuriko-senpai's love of mysteries, and sometimes jumps into them himself.

Another notable feature is that almost all the characters, except for the protagonist Toiri, speak in the Hiroshima dialect.
Since Toiri-kun is supposed to be from Tokyo, he speaks standard Japanese.
Watching the cute female characters speak in the Hiroshima dialect makes you feel like you're on a trip.

Each chapter is short, just over 10 pages, but most are self-contained and can be read without getting bored.
While I won't go into a full-fledged mystery section, knowing about it will enhance your enjoyment.
Basically, it's a comedy infused with the essence of mystery.

thoughts

Personally, I found it quite interesting.
My senior is cute, and the other female characters are also charming with their diverse expressions.
Since it's a Young Animal Comics title, there are quite a few sexy scenes, and some that will make you grin.

The protagonist, Toiri-kun, is unusual in this type of story in that he doesn't hide his feelings for his senior.
Despite being quite handsome, he has a slightly eccentric side, which adds to his charm.
His antics and eccentricities are just as much a highlight as Yuriko-senpai's.

However, one thing to be aware of when reading is that it may contain spoilers for very famous mysteries, so you may need to be careful about that.
However, the content is something that anyone who likes mysteries has probably heard before, so there's no need to be too apprehensive.
If you're someone who finds cute girls, dialects, and mysteries appealing, then I highly recommend you read this.

It's a case! 1 (Young Animal Comics)(Amazon)
