Kimi ga Shine -Majority Rule Death Game- (Final Chapter Part A) Impressions and Analysis

キミガシネ -多数決デスゲーム-(最終章前編Aパート)感想・考察 game
This post can be read in about 5 minutes.

Two years have already passed since Chapter 1 was released in February 2018.
Adventure game available on RPG AtsumaruIt's "Kimi ga Shine -Majority Rule Death Game-".
The portion released this time is the first part (A) of the final chapter (Chapter 3).
The game only takes about an hour to play, but I thought I'd write down my thoughts and impressions.
This contains spoilers, so please be careful if you haven't played the game yet.

Story review (contains spoilers)

First, there are four possible combinations of characters who have died up to the previous chapter.
This is a combination of patterns where either Alice or Reco is sacrificed, and patterns where either Kanna or Sou is sacrificed.
Since there are multiple combinations, I imagine it must have been extremely difficult for the author to create the variations.

So far, I haven't sensed any major changes in the situation.
Alice and Reko would have played similar roles regardless of who survived, and surprisingly, there wasn't much difference between Kanna and Sou either.
In the last scene of the previously released portion, where Kanna dies, Sou was quite angry.
However, in the portion released this time, Sou says sarcastically, "I'll cooperate for now," but for the most part, he acts the same way he usually does.
However, I feel that the visual atmosphere of the deduction screen changes quite a bit depending on who the survivors are.

Since the fate of the characters depends on the player's choices, every decision made during the game carries significant weight.
Even if the plot doesn't change much, every time a dead character is mentioned, you're confronted with the fact that they died because of the player's choices, and it leaves you with an indescribable feeling.

My impressions of the gameplay (contains spoilers)

This game doesn't require any action elements; you simply make choices.
The game involves repelling "saboteurs" and disarming traps in a discussion-like format.
Basically, it's a simple format where each character proposes an action, and you decide whether or not to have them do it.
Choosing ineffective options can lead to unfavorable outcomes as time passes.
There wasn't much time to choose irrelevant options, so players needed to think to some extent rather than simply trying every combination.
I got a game over several times while trying to solve the puzzle on the magma ring.

I don't think the puzzles we had to solve during our exploration were particularly difficult.
The search area isn't very large, and it's not too difficult to search every nook and cranny.
The following two places took me a little while to find:
The book you can get from the hole in the magma ring might be a little hard to find because it's not immediately obvious that there's a book there (Kurumada can't reach it, so he has to call Q-taro).
Also, I felt that using paints and brushes found in a room you enter as a pair, in a room with lots of paintings on display, might be a little hard to notice.
I think these two spots are probably the only places where I felt someone might get stuck.

While there are several choices presented during conversations in various scenes, none of them seemed to affect the overall plot.
However, since the reactions immediately after a response are varied, I feel it's worth playing it repeatedly and trying out different options.
The third option, in particular, often portrays Sarah as a naturally ditzy character, so it's easy to end up choosing it.

Questions and thoughts on this topic (contains spoilers)

The first thing that comes to mind is this consent form.
What exactly is this consent form that Midori is so determined to get Sarah to sign, even at the cost of Keiji's life?
I feel this is the biggest mystery in the portion that has been released so far.
The other members had already signed, and it was said that all that remained was for Sarah to sign it to complete it.
What catches the eye in the consent form is, of course, the parts that have been blacked out.
What exactly is written there?

Generally, consent forms are,To get the person to agree to the possibility that they might suffer some disadvantage. That is the purpose.
Regardless of the content, I find it strange that an organization that forces people to participate in such death games would now ask for a signed consent form.
The purpose is not to get them to sign a consent form and then do something,You may need proof later that the person participated of their own free will.
Part of a technical test that will later be used in public.(It's like a clinical trial for a new drug.)If they are conducting a death game, then it is an inhumane experiment, and therefore, a consent form should be required.
In that case, the answer would be:"I agree to accept and cooperate with any disadvantages that may arise from participating in this experiment."It is expected that something along these lines will be written.

Based on what has happened so far, I think we're starting to get a vague idea of what kind of experiment it is.
The key is,Artificial intelligence, the dead, dollsThese are some of the terms used.
"Restoring dead people using dolls and artificial intelligence."Or,"We will put artificial intelligence into the doll and complete it as a human being."I suspect that this is the intended purpose.
I think the reason they force participants to kill each other is to collect data on how people react when they are strongly affected by emotions, and how their consciousness changes at the moment of death or just before it.

There are many other minor questions as well.
The pasts and backgrounds of the characters are still largely unknown, and there are many mysteries surrounding the Dummies.
However, it's impossible to make an accurate deduction at this point, so for now, I think we should wait for the second part of the sequel to be released.
I think there are many people who have made observations that I wouldn't have thought of myself, so I'd like to search for and read various things they've written.
