This is an article introducing "Striker Princess," a doujin game made with SRPG Studio.
This game is not free; it is a paid game (as of June 2020, it costs 1650 yen including tax).
I became interested in "Put on!", a sci-fi simulation RPG that the same circle is currently developing, and that's how I learned about this first game by them.
I bought this game to support the new release and also to do some preliminary research.
Given that it's a paid game, you can really feel the effort that went into it, with original graphics and a wealth of event stills.
The battle animations are also meticulously crafted for each allied unit, making them quite impressive to watch.
While there are some mild sexual depictions, this work is suitable for all ages, so please rest assured.
The game took approximately 11 hours to complete (all 38 chapters).
The difficulty level is relatively low, so those looking for a challenging SRPG might find it a little underwhelming.
As of June 2020, the price is 1650 yen including tax.

Game Overview

The game itself is a fairly standard simulation RPG.
However, unlike typical works, it has several unique features, which I would like to introduce.

- Levels increase quickly and the growth rate is good.
In this game, you get a generous amount of experience points when you defeat enemies, so you can level up quickly.
Furthermore, the growth rate when leveling up is also relatively high.
Therefore, the units get stronger very quickly, and you can really feel the progress.

• The terrain has a very strong effect.
In this game, terrain effects on the map are very significant; even a simple forest can provide effects such as "Dodge +25%, Defense +5".
Using this will make battles much easier, so you should make use of it in the early stages when your forces are not yet fully assembled.
Conversely, if the enemy is waiting on this type of terrain, they become extremely formidable, so caution is necessary.
- Weapons treated as "techniques"
In many SRPGs, weapons have a limited number of uses, and they wear down as you use them.
In this game, attacks are treated as techniques rather than weapons, so there are no limits on the number of times they can be used.
Most units have a melee attack with a range of 1 and a ranged attack with a range of 2 or more.
When you are attacked by an enemy and need to retaliate, you can choose which attack to use each time.
However, please note that some map-based weapons have a limited number of uses per stage.
A passionate story about a female couple

Most of the named characters in this work are female.
Even if someone uses "ore" (a masculine first-person pronoun), they might actually be female.
The romantic relationships between the characters are all between women, so those who are uncomfortable with that should be aware.
Although it features an all-female cast, the story has many exciting developments reminiscent of super robot anime, and I think those looking for something thrilling will be thoroughly satisfied.
Pay attention to the interactions and dialogue between the characters.
·others
In addition, there are various other things, such as special commands that allow you to temporarily transform into a powered-up state, and items that increase your stats when you possess them.
The game's difficulty is relatively low, so it's perfectly possible to clear it without fully utilizing all the features, but doing so will make the game much easier.
Review (no spoilers)
I finished it in about 11 hours.
Although there are 38 stages, the size of each map is not that large, so you can progress through the game quickly.
The leveling up process is very fast and the growth rate is high, making this a very satisfying game to play.
The difficulty level is relatively low.
As mentioned in the previous section, the terrain has a very strong effect, so if you take advantage of it in the early stages, you can clear the game very easily.
Enemy units generally tend to charge at you, and the maps aren't particularly complex.
In terms of gameplay, combined with the compelling storyline, it gave me a similar impression to Super Robot Wars.
Below, I'd like to write about a few things that I noticed while playing the game.
- The enemy's attack range cannot be displayed.
In SRPG Studio games, there's a feature that allows you to constantly display the enemy's movement range and attack range by right-clicking on the map.
However, this feature was not included in this game, perhaps for the sake of game stability.
I felt that this feature was desirable because it was difficult to grasp the enemy's attack range.
(If you select an enemy unit, you can see its individual movement and attack range.)
- When exchanging stock items on the sortie preparation screen, the sixth item will not be visible unless you select "Deposit".

This is about switching characters using the up/down arrow keys (or mouse wheel) on the stock exchange screen.
In this case, the unit's face window hides the sixth item, so it's not immediately clear what it's holding.
Pressing "Deposit" allows you to see all items, but it felt cumbersome because it required multiple steps to quickly check them.
- The effect of the skill is not clear.

This doesn't cause any major problems, but it concerns the "status-boosting" skills that units often possess individually.
Since we don't know the specific stat boost from this skill, it's hard to appreciate how impressive it is.
It might just be flavor text, but I think it would be better if we knew how much of an increase it represents.
I've written about various things, but overall, I was able to enjoy it very smoothly from beginning to end.
The next game, "Put on!", is described as a sci-fi simulation RPG, so it might be closer in style to Super Robot Wars.
Since many SRPGs have a medieval setting, I'm immediately interested in games that are set in the modern or future.
Strategy Notes (Contains Spoilers)
About the ending
To see the true ending, you need to earn at least 33 points.
Pre-battle conversations with units that seem to have a close relationship with the enemy boss are easy to trigger, so be sure to actively try to earn points from them.
Chapters 35 through 37 are good places to earn points because there are many pre-battle conversations.
In my case, it was difficult to find conversations between my peers, and I hardly remember having any conversations with them.
In contrast, we were able to find many pre-battle conversations with enemies.
In battles between units with a history of rivalry, you should actively target them.
If you don't earn enough points, you might have to go back to the previous map and start over, so be careful.
Map Strategy Notes
・Chapter 26
Staying in the center will be difficult as enemies will come from three directions, so move to either the left or right side to break through.
Even so, enemies keep coming in droves, so if you don't make full use of Soina's "Introduce Yourself" ability, your allies will be wiped out in no time.
Let your tough allies draw the enemy's attention.
・Chapter 27
It's a showdown between Soyna and Nerai.
You might be tempted to fight right there, but let's move to the upper level and fight on the throne.
The terrain effects are tremendous, and HP recovers every turn, so you should be practically invincible.
・Chapter 28
The three bosses are powerful, but they have a weakness at range 1, so they're not a threat if you get close to them.
However, since the three of them are covering each other's range gaps, let's surround and take them down as quickly as possible.
・Chapter 29

Since they are formidable opponents, let's fight them on top of the white lilies.
After Kuyuna is deployed as an ally reinforcement, it's safest to fight in the lower left corner of the map where you can receive support effects.
・Chapter 31
There are a lot of enemies, so I'd like to fight them in the city, but it's not necessary to go that far.
It feels great to gather enemies along a wall and wipe them all out with a map-wide weapon.
・Chapter 32
If you allow the enemy to enter your area of effect, you will lose.
Numerous flying enemies will appear as reinforcements along the way.
They'll fly right over the cliffs, so make sure to surround the houses with your allies.
If an enemy enters your area of effect and attacks, defeating them with a counterattack will prevent their entry from being confirmed, and you will not lose.
・Chapter 38
The final boss is defeated by attacking it with Soina, which triggers an event.
After the event, mini-bosses will appear on the map. Defeating them all will weaken the main boss.

It has a skill that restores 450 HP per turn, so let's all gather together and defeat it.
It's a tough enemy, but it has a weakness at range 2, so if you can attack it from there, you won't take any counterattacks.
Unit usage experience
・Soyna

The fact that there were no weapon compatibility issues meant that it could fight reasonably well against any opponent, which was very appealing.
In the second half, he could switch to an enhanced mode, and his strength was worthy of the protagonist's name.
・Kuyun

With high attack power and the ability to perform multiple attacks using skills, this character was a powerful ace attacker.
I felt like I was able to inflict more damage on the final boss than I could on Soina.
Apia

With the magic spear setting, it felt like in the early stages, in a way, that Soina, the protagonist, had more episodes to her own.
With its high attack power, ability to transform into an enhanced mode, and map-wide attack capabilities, this is a very powerful unit.
It also possessed the ability to absorb HP, making it a unit that could be unstoppable depending on how it was used.
Rodna

In the early stages of the game, this character had difficulty with accuracy and dodging, but was very tough and had powerful single hits.
By enhancing speed, you can follow up with powerful attacks immediately after a heavy blow, resulting in a strong power-type character.
・McTaufi

It's a well-balanced unit, and I got the impression that it was particularly prone to critical hits.
The nickname "Azure Style Spear" reminded me of Layzner.
Sehel

Because it could only grow by recovering, this unit tended to have low levels.
When targeted by the enemy, you're often pursued and easily defeated.
Therefore, this is a unit that we would recommend actively strengthening through experience point distribution.
Once you acquire Behilerina, you'll be able to heal anywhere on the map, making her an extremely reliable healer.
・Lucwen

When it first appears, its strength, speed, and durability are somewhat lacking, but as it grows, it becomes reasonably useful.
This unit wins by using a large number of skills to perform actions.
・Luerike

She is a valuable unit as a healer other than Sehel.
Once your speed increases enough to allow for follow-up attacks, you'll be able to attack from a distance, which becomes very useful.
Enhancing your luck will make you virtually invincible through your skills.
• Shop staff

This unit primarily focuses on support, and I think the most frequent use will be the boost provided by the coffee set, which allows for additional actions.
They're not exactly weak in combat, so they could potentially be the one to deliver the finishing blow.
Canary

This unit can take down enemies with multiple attacks from a medium range.
While its single-hit power is average, its ability to easily trigger up to four attacks with its double trigger, combined with its long range, made it quite effective.
・Uteyora

It has a weak range at close range, but its maximum range of 5 is long, making it easy to use as an interceptor.
It had high power, could attack twice, and was very effective at sniping over obstacles.
・Shu

With its high mobility and unobstructed range, this skirmish unit can advance regardless of terrain.
Its durability isn't very high, so caution is needed, but it's useful in a variety of situations.
・ Aim

Although its range is limited to 1, this unit is appealing due to its powerful attacks and area-of-effect weapon.
They were a unit I liked because of their characters, who were like seekers of truth.
・ Puran

While he's the weakest of the three, he tends to have an advantage in terms of weapon compatibility.
It's not very tough, so it's difficult to put it on display.
・Reli

With SevSays' long range and attack power, combined with enhanced speed, it boasts considerable offensive capabilities.
The area-of-effect weapon has a wide range, and in later maps where there tend to be many enemies, using it effectively can make things much easier.
