This article is about "Put on!", an indie simulation RPG by the doujin circle "CCamu".
This is a rare science fiction game made with SRPG Studio, featuring battles between robots and romance between female characters.
Please note that this is for ages 18 and up (it's yuri only).
The game has a total of 48 chapters (plus side stories), and the completion time was approximately 18 hours.
There's also a demo version that lets you play up to chapter 14, so if you're interested, why not download it?

Game Overview (No Spoilers)

"Put on!" is a simulation RPG set in a science fiction world.
On a fleet of space colonists that has left Earth and traveled into outer space, the protagonist, Dr. Theoma Torridges, discovers a new material called "Emu," which leads him to become entangled in various incidents and conspiracies.
Many of the episode titles are taken from classic science fiction works, which will surely bring a smile to the faces of those in the know.
With a solid foundation of established settings, the story is driven forward with exciting developments at its climactic moments.

This is a rare SRPG Studio title in that robots appear as playable units.
The combat animations for each machine are original and have been meticulously created, suggesting that a great deal of time and effort went into their development.
There is a wide variety of weapons and special moves, and you will need to skillfully utilize the characteristics of your units depending on the situation.

This game features a system, similar to the Super Robot Wars series, where you can invest funds to upgrade your weapons.
Furthermore, it's possible to customize each unit to give it its own unique character by equipping it with various weapons and enhancement parts.
You can earn a fair amount of money, but upgrading to the absolute maximum will require an enormous sum.
It's a good idea to focus on upgrading useful weapons.
Additionally, you can use bonus points earned separately from funds to teach each character skills.
Each character has certain strengths, but it's up to the player to decide whether to further develop those strengths or focus on compensating for their weaknesses.
Review (no spoilers)
It was a very lengthy game, but I managed to complete it successfully.
The previous workStriker PrincessSimilar to [another game], the pacing was good because each stage could be cleared quickly.
Most enemy units can be defeated in just one or two attacks, and your allies' levels also increase rapidly, which is very satisfying.
However, some enemies and bosses in the later stages of the game are tough opponents, and the game gradually becomes more challenging.
You can fight effectively if you regularly update your equipment and modify your weapons, but you'll struggle if you fight without thinking.
In the second half of the game, allied units will become increasingly polarized between those with high combat power and those with lower combat power. However, none of them will be completely useless, so you will need to devise ways to make the most of them.
Many maps result in a game over if even one ally is shot down, so frequent saving is necessary.
(In the later stages, there are bosses that are difficult to defeat unless you have enough allied units, so it seems this is to prevent you from getting stuck due to a decrease in the number of allied units.)
One point of concern is the operation when using the repair tools for repairs or the tea set for support.
Having to select an action from the item inventory would require many operations, so it would have been more convenient if we could select an action directly from the menu after moving.
While the story is based on a science fiction world, I felt it focused on the human beings themselves, portraying them like an ensemble drama.
The setting of the story remains a fleet of spaceships throughout, with little change, but the narrative unfolds at a brisk pace, making it difficult to stop reading.
The story takes a major turn, especially in the middle, and the plot accelerates, making it impossible to look away.
Some of the allies had rival enemies with whom they had a history, and the diverse relationships between them made it quite interesting.
I think the more robot anime a player is familiar with, the more engaging the game will be.
Regarding the R18 elements, most of them involve interactions between women.
I learned partway through that the story was set in a world where same-sex marriage is recognized, which made it much more believable.
Character interaction events can be selected and viewed from the base screen.
Strategy Notes (Contains Spoilers)
There are hardly any difficult parts in the early stages, so I think you'll be able to progress smoothly.
Be aware that some maps become a bit more difficult from the middle of the game onward.
I'll write about some things I feel are key to success.
Useful skills
Actively purchase any skills available from the store staff and teach them to your characters as much as possible.
The "Finishing Move" skill increases damage by nearly 1.5 times when activated, and it becomes almost guaranteed to activate in the later stages of the game.
Ideally, you'd want to equip this on all of your main attackers.
"Rapid-fire aiming" allows weapons that would normally be unusable after movement to be used after moving.
Teaching this skill to characters with long-range weapons, such as Karg and Iroi, greatly improves their usability.
"Emergency Evasion" and "Fight Response" are skills that, when taught to characters who frequently fight on the front lines, can provide a little more peace of mind during battles.
If you've mastered the technique, even if you're in a situation where being shot down seems unavoidable, you might be able to escape by repeatedly reloading your save file.
"Pursuit" is a skill that allows for two attack actions, although there is a limit to how many times it can be used per map.
Since you can attack other enemies if you don't move from your current position, this is useful when you want to quickly reduce the number of enemies.
Additionally, skills like "○○ Tactical Aptitude" also have the effect of boosting your stats, so it's a skill worth acquiring.
Once you've mastered the skills listed above, start using them one by one.
Utilize skills and support effects against tough enemies.
As the story progresses, powerful bosses will appear.
Simply throwing powerful units at the enemy often leads to difficulties, so make sure to utilize the support effects of each character.
Theoma, in particular, can provide and receive a great deal of support.
If you're using Seoma as a boss killer, it's a good idea to surround him with other characters.
In that case, it is necessary to use abilities such as Attract to draw attacks away from weaker characters so that they are not attacked.
Additionally, there are various debuffing skills, such as Hanjena's "Azami Bikara" and Dihna's "Actress," which lower the defense of adjacent opponents; Raiyu's "Round Repair," which heals surrounding allies; and Medeli's "Jamming," which is activated by her special equipment and lowers the enemy's accuracy and evasion.
Making effective use of these will be crucial for clearing the later stages.
Maps I found difficult
Chapter 16
When Limbaro reaches the target location, three bosses will appear.
If your allies aren't able to gather together, Limbaro will be subjected to concentrated attacks and defeated.
Block the target square with your units to prevent Limbaro from reaching it, and slowly gather your units together.
The bosses have high evasion and are difficult to hit, but defeat them by using Lane Kyuna's Limit Break and each character's SP skills.
Chapter 24
This is a very long battle, so you need to save frequently.
Keep in mind that the battle will likely be long, so make sure to bring healing items and other necessary supplies.
Chapter 41 Side Story
The boss unit, Dobby, is an extremely tough opponent.
It recovers nearly 1000 HP every turn, and there are no blind spots in its range.
Make full use of support effects in battle, such as Raiyu's Round Repair, Medeli's Jamming, and Hanjena Dihna's skill that lowers the defense of adjacent units.
Even if you defeat it once, it will revive with enhanced stats such as HP and HP recovery amount.
However, the armament has been modified, and the maximum range is now 6, so it is possible to attack from outside the range without receiving a counterattack.
Since a prolonged battle will put us at a disadvantage, we should be prepared to take some damage and concentrate our firepower on the enemy.
Chapter 46
Keon is surrounded by four barrier bits and has a support defense bonus applied.
Therefore, you cannot inflict significant damage unless you eliminate all the bits.
Bit is very tough and difficult to damage, so you don't need to defeat him if you can separate him from Kane using Dihna's Anchor, Hemme's Orbiter Shift, or Alaka's Smite.
Similar patterns appear in later maps, but they can be dealt with using the same methods.
The Festive that appears afterward will revive in critical mode even if you defeat it once.
Since the enemy will have a status-enhancing effect for three turns after reviving, focus your attacks after that effect wears off.
Unit usage experience
・ Theoma
My impression was that it was an attacker with a relatively short range but high attack power.
However, this meant I was attacked more frequently, and I often got shot down and lost the game due to even a slight lapse in concentration.
In the second half, I was able to use more long-range attacks and become a more versatile player.
However, in terms of combat ability, it fell short compared to other units, so it wasn't as effective as it was in the first half of the season.
My impression of the mobile suit was that it was a combination of the Gundam UC "Banshee" and the Gundam NT "Phenex," the Super Robot Wars original unit "Huckebein," and the G Generation original unit "Phoenix Zero."
・Henme
With its high evasion rate and the ability to use "Focus," it was a unit that could be safely deployed on the front lines.
While not particularly flashy offensively, their role as a draw-in and whittle-down enemy attacks is crucial.
The mobile suit's overall impression is reminiscent of the Gundam 00 "AEU Enact."
・Araka
He was the team's ace attacker from the very beginning of the match.
With its high accuracy and evasion rate, it rarely got hit, so I could always send it charging into the enemy with complete confidence.
The way he increases his movement speed and jumps into the enemy ranks to wreak havoc with two actions per turn is just like Jackie Chan in a kung fu movie.
My impression of the mecha, at least based on its face, was that it resembled the "Weissritter," an original mecha from Super Robot Wars.
Han Jena
Although it has a short range, this melee attacker has defeated many bosses with its powerful close-range attacks.
Its natural evasion ability is quite good, so it also served well as a decoy with its Attract ability.
A powerful strategy involves enhancing movement speed, getting adjacent to enemies to lower their defenses, and then unleashing a powerful attack.
Lientanger's layered Emu cloak looked cool, reminiscent of the "ABC Mantle" from Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam.
・Kalgu
Since it was a straightforward gunner unit, I equipped it with weapons capable of long-range attacks and fought using rapid-fire aiming.
Since it's difficult to dodge attacks, I customized it by strengthening the armor.
In the first half of the game, the map-wide missile weapon was useful, but in the second half, it wasn't used much due to a lack of firepower.
He was the only male character, but he seemed a bit overshadowed by the strong personalities of the female characters.
・Rail
I mainly played a supporting role, focusing on healing and support.
I upgraded the mecha to a stash configuration, making it easier to move around for recovery.
In battle, she would only occasionally deliver the finishing blow to enemies, and was mainly used in the rear alongside Medeli.
Medeli
Like Raiyu, I used him almost exclusively as a healer and support character.
However, since jamming was available, they sometimes went to the front lines against tough opponents.
・Iroi
In the early stages, he was treated similarly to Karg, but in the later stages, the difference became clear when he acquired his own dedicated machine.
The long-range Water-Shattering Soldier-Shattering weapon is extremely powerful, and the rapid-fire aiming system makes it even easier to use.
While the close-range Four of a Kind is powerful, the damage taken increases when you get close to the enemy, so I couldn't get too close.
・Hiren
While Raiyu and Medeli could be used as healers, Hiren couldn't do that either, so I didn't use him much in battle.
Hiren SP has high performance, so it might have become strong if raised properly.
・Leede
Despite having powerful weaponry, he mostly relied on a coffee set to allow his allies to take action again.
His evasion is quite high, so depending on how you enhance him, I think he can be as effective as Hemme.
・Dihna
I used her as a melee attacker, similar to how I used Hanjena.
Distorzone's destructive power made it a useful means of attacking bosses.
I often found myself fighting on the front lines and taking a fair amount of damage, but the automatic healing skill made things much easier as it reduced the amount of time I had to spend healing.
The claw-like parts on its arms are cool, reminiscent of the Kyrios from Gundam 00.
Enkays
Thanks to the Attract and Golden Orbit skills, it gives the impression that you can dodge attacks more effectively than the numbers suggest.
However, if you don't activate Attract, you'll likely be defeated very easily.
It made a very strong impression when it first appeared, but as other allied units became stronger one after another, it seemed to gradually fall in the rankings.
The name "Outnumber" sounds cool.
Because he has his arms crossed, he somehow reminds me of the Gundam Spiegel from G Gundam.
Canary
With its incredible accuracy, it was an excellent attacker that could reliably land attacks even on opponents with high evasion.
I maximized the long-range Outside Edge and used Rapid Fire + Two Actions, which proved to be very effective.
It also has a powerful special move for boss battles using the P-Approach, and I felt it was a unit with few blind spots.
The pilot's appearance and the mobile suit's gleaming gold color reminded me of the "Akatsuki" from Gundam SEED DESTINY.
