This time, I'll be writing an article about the free game "Adabana no Yakata" (The Mansion of the Adabana).
This game is a free game created with RPG Maker VX Ace.
Unusually for a game, this title offers a classic death game experience.
I'll be writing about a brief introduction to the game, strategies, and my impressions of it.
House of Fleeting Flowers
Game Overview
One of its most distinctive features is that the protagonist is a murderer who orchestrates the death game.
Six men and women are gathered in a mysterious mansion and will compete against each other in a death game.
There are five different games, each with its own unique characteristics, and they truly feel like death games.
There are no action elements; you can purely enjoy the battle of wits and strategy.
Simply playing without a clear strategy won't get you many wins.
The dilemma lies in whether to consider the theory and choose actions that outsmart your opponent, or to lie to gain an advantage (the protagonist can only lie once throughout the entire game).
Furthermore, your opponent might try to outsmart you by exploiting loopholes in the rules, so it's not always easy.
However, since the opponent's attack patterns are fixed, clearing the game isn't difficult at all if you reload and try again.
Your first playthrough will likely be the most enjoyable.
The game takes less than an hour to complete, and the pacing is excellent.
There are several different endings, but it doesn't take much time to complete multiple playthroughs.
Since there's an option to fast-forward dialogue, repeated playthroughs aren't too tedious.
All the characters are quite eccentric.
By winning, you can view detailed profiles, so let's do our best to beat everyone.
Strategy
Clearing the game itself is not difficult if you save right before the battle and memorize the enemy's attack patterns.
However, for those who find that uninteresting, I'll write some hints and strategy notes.
Robbery game
This is just a warm-up exercise to get used to the skills.
After three exchanges, you choose one of the following: 1 million, 3 million, 5 million, or a pass, and proceed with the theft.
When attempting to steal 5 million dollars, either use a tracking device to ensure there are no alarms, or do it after the alarms have been activated.
However, naturally, when the other party is trying to extort 5 million yen, they will also use their right to ask questions.
Therefore, the real challenge lies in where and how to successfully carry out other heists.
If the transmitter isn't used by the second attempt, the enemy will know that the alarm will be used on the third attempt, so the crucial moment is either the first or second attempt.
Think carefully before you go into a match: will you make the first move, or will you let your opponent make the first move?
Kings Game
It may seem complicated, but the key points are "where to wear down the king" and "to nullify losses by betting worthless pebbles."
Think carefully, anticipate your opponent's best move, and try to deplete their strong cards.
hide and seek
It's a game of chance.
Be careful of the traps your opponents might set.
Rock-paper-scissors
Since both players have special cards, and the opponent also has the right to ask one question, this is a game where, in reality, I shouldn't be able to win.
If your opponent is choosing the best move, you'll have to lie to win.
Is there a guaranteed winning strategy?
Apple Games
I didn't really understand the winning strategy for this game either, so I memorized the opponent's attack patterns and kept trying until I beat them.
Review (contains spoilers)
The first playthrough, the first time you play a game, is the most fun.
It was refreshing to play a game where you feel like you're actually participating in a death game, as there aren't many other games like it.
The characters' eccentricities also contributed significantly to the game's atmosphere.
The most obviously eccentric character is, of course, the protagonist.
However, I find the characters who overshadow the protagonist to be the most terrifying.
Those characters tend to use their right to ask questions at rather inconvenient times, and the traps they set are also quite unpleasant.
The events after the victory against Umi, especially after Ishi and Shizuku died, were quite frightening.
Did the battles in his lifetime, as described in the true ending, unfold in the same way as this?
summary
Despite being a short game, this free game is quite captivating.
I think people who enjoy works with a death game theme will enjoy this.
Since a sequel has been released, I plan to write an article about that as well.

Kai-chan is so stupid at rock-paper-scissors... lol
In a situation where both of them only had rock and paper, Kai reluctantly threw paper, but for some reason threw rock.
Wait, is this guy serious?! I was so surprised... lol
Did he deliberately lose to steel himself for the consequences of his actions...?
Thank you for your comment.
I think it's entirely possible that the outcome of the game was secondary; the decision was made to deliberately lose and destroy the game board itself.
In the first heist game, perhaps because they're hesitant, they often make simple mistakes lol
