Summary of how to resolve Google Search Console AMP errors

This post can be read in about 3 minutes.

When you try to implement AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages), which is recommended by Google, you will receive various error notifications in Search Console.
This error occurs frequently and in large numbers, making it quite time-consuming to fix.
Moreover, since it's unclear what negative impact it will have on the page's ranking, there's a risk of future problems if it's not corrected.
Therefore, I also used to focus on converting my equipment to an amplifier, but it was so time-consuming that I gave up on it for a while.

However, considering the increase in access from mobile devices and the resulting drop-off rate due to longer page loading times, I've come to think that it would be better to address these issues going forward.
I feel that it's become easier to implement AMP (Amazon Prime Video) than before, thanks to user-friendly AMP plugins and support for AdSense's AMP auto ads.

However, errors related to AMP pages still occur frequently.
In this article, I'd like to record, as a memo, the AMP errors I encountered and how I resolved them.
If any new errors arise in the future, we will add updates as they occur.
Since I don't have much specialized knowledge, I often try things by making guesses as an amateur, searching online, and imitating what I see.

My setup uses the "Cocoon" WordPress theme and the "AMP for WP" plugin for AMP implementation.

(You can find more detailed information in the error section of Google Search Console.)

"This page requires the 'script' tag for the AMP component, but this tag is missing."

This error message alone doesn't provide enough information to understand the situation.
Let's run an AMP test to investigate the details of the error.
Each issue needs to be addressed and resolved individually.

The tag "amp-web-push-widget" must include the JavaScript extension "amp-web-push".

When I checked the error, this is what was displayed.
Upon researching this tag, I found that it's used to enable features like push notification subscriptions within the AMP page.
After reviewing my own AMP page, I suspected that the relevant button might be one for sharing articles on social media.

Therefore, I decided to tweak the settings of the "AMP for WP" plugin.
I went to "Design" ⇒ "Social Sharing" and turned off the function, removing the share button and other related elements.

Ideally, it would be best to correct it so that it can be installed correctly.
However, I wasn't sure how to fix it, and in the case of my blog, these share buttons are hardly ever used, so I decided to just remove them.

As a result, the errors disappeared from the AMP test, and the issue was successfully resolved.
For now, I'd like to consider this complete.
