Legal Braver ~The Hero Organization and the Six Knights~ (Free RPG) Introduction, Impressions, and Strategy Notes

リーガルブレイバー ~勇者機関と六花の騎士~(フリー・RPG)紹介・感想・攻略メモ game
This post can be read in about 10 minutes.

This is an introductory article for "Legal Braver ~The Hero Organization and the Six Knights~," a medium-length RPG created with RPG Maker MV.
This game is story-driven and designed to make it easy to progress through the game quickly.
I felt that this game put a lot of effort into its unique graphics, screen design, and background music.
The main story took about 10 hours to complete.

Game Overview

This is an RPG set in the era after the Demon King has been defeated.
The story begins when Jail, the leader of the "Hero Organization," which is responsible for maintaining public order, becomes isolated from his unit due to an accident during an operation against the enemy "Demon Lord Cult."
The plot, with its intrigue, plot twists, and suspense reminiscent of a detective story, is captivating.

The character graphics and event illustrations for each individual character are abundant and clearly show the effort put into them.
The menu screen also has a cool design and feels luxurious.

Basically, you progress through the game with a fixed party of four main characters, so there are no difficult aspects to character development.
As you level up, your stats will increase, and you will automatically acquire new skills.
Additionally, you can purchase books at the shop that allow you to learn new skills, as well as doping items that boost your stats.

The battles are simple turn-based command battles.
In addition to normal attacks, there are commands to use skills, some of which consume MP, TP, or both.
TP is accumulated through normal attacks and damage taken, and is not reset even after the battle ends.
Incidentally, you can still gain experience points even if you are incapacitated in battle.

Stepping onto a glowing spot on the map will initiate a conversation with your party members.
While it won't affect the game's progression itself, watching these videos will give you a deeper understanding of the characters' backgrounds and allow you to obtain items that grant experience points.

Review (no spoilers)

I completed the main story in about 10 hours.
The story was quite compelling, and I enjoyed the game more than the playtime suggested.

The game's combat difficulty is relatively low.
The game has an intriguing storyline, so I think the difficulty level is designed to allow players to progress quickly.
The story doesn't start with too many mysteries; just the right amount of plot points are introduced, and those plot points are revealed without being dragged out too much.
The way the story was presented in this part was skillful and I thought it was very well done.

The difficulty level is such that regular battles can be handled entirely on auto-battle, but boss battles require careful manual control.
In my case, I was able to defeat most bosses on my first attempt, but for some bosses, I had to prepare and try again.
Leveling up can be done comfortably with auto-battle, and you can effectively strengthen your character by using stat-boosting items with the money you've accumulated.

I think the appeal of this work lies entirely in its story and characters.
In addition to the four members of the Jail Squad, many other unique antagonists appear, and the portrayal of both the antagonists and the antagonists was just the right amount of detail.

The graphics were fantastic, of course, but the background music was also excellent.
Many of the battle BGM and enemy theme songs are very memorable and I think they played a big role in enhancing the story.
I don't usually pay much attention to background music in free games, but I felt it was used very effectively in this game.

One thing that caught my attention was the options settings.
The default settings are "no command memory" and "all volume levels are set to 20%", but the changes are not being saved.
Having to reconfigure my preferred settings every time I started it up was a bit of a hassle.

While the content and themes of the work are not cheerful, I think the pop graphics and design make it accessible to many people.
The scenario scenes are well-developed, so even those looking for a substantial RPG should be satisfied.

Strategy Notes (Contains Spoilers)

The combat difficulty in this game is not very high.
If you get stuck on a boss, I think the best thing to do is to level up.
I'll write about some points that are helpful for strategy other than leveling up.

- Purchase runes to enhance your skills.
In this game, you can enhance your character's stats for a relatively low cost.
If you enhance Cuff's attack power and Liz's magic power, I think you'll be able to fight much more easily in many battles.
Liz, in particular, has a wide variety of attack types, making it easy to exploit her weaknesses, so strengthening her will make her very powerful.
Strengthening the defense and magic defense of characters who are easily defeated is also an effective strategy.

・Make use of buffs and debuffs
As anyone familiar with RPGs will know, Jail's Torch, which you acquire midway through the game, has the effect of increasing the defense and magic defense of the entire party.
Using a bunker promptly at the start of combat can help stabilize your party.
You can use it in two stages simultaneously, but make sure to use at least one stage's effect without interruption.

Below, I will write individually about the boss battles that I found somewhat challenging.

- Magic Swordsman Digan (1st time)
We defeated it with an average level of 25.
Jail fortifies his defenses with a bunker while using Dispel to negate the effect of Aura Blade.
Cuffs attacks with Hell Thrust, while Liz attacks with the corresponding elemental weakness.
Let Nigst provide support as needed, using skills that weaken enemies.
Since this will be a long battle, you'll have a hard time if you don't stock up on healing items like magic potions.
Defeating it will reward you with three exchange tickets for Level 3 armor.

- Magic Knight Cattleya
We defeated it with an average level of 27.
Since the enemy's attacks are all magic attacks, equipping everyone with a Ring of Exorcism will help mitigate the damage.
Fortify your defenses with the bunker, and attack with Cuff's Hell Thrust and Liz's magic.
After the accompanying enemies appear, prioritize defeating the surrounding enemies first.
Physical attacks are not very effective, so if you inflict poison on Cuffs before attacking, you'll be able to deal more damage.
Liz is most efficient when she buys Meteor Rain and uses it for area-of-effect attacks.
When Cattleya charges up her magic, it's a sign that she's about to unleash her area-of-effect attack, Comet, so defend yourself to survive.

・The False Knight Hozuki
After fighting for a while, Hozuki disappears and two companions appear on either side of him.
After a short while, a Chinese lantern plant will appear in the center, so focus all your attacks on the center.
If you fail to defeat the central lantern plant within a certain number of turns, everyone will take massive damage and be wiped out.
There's no need to rush after you've defeated the one in the middle.

- Magic Swordsman Digan (2nd time)
We defeated it with an average level of 48.
一戦目と同じ戦法で戦えば良いのですが、相手の敏捷が高いため、先手を取って回復できない可能性があります。
Boosting the healer's agility with runes will make battles easier.
Since it uses a variety of attacks that can inflict status ailments such as petrification, be sure to prepare healing methods before fighting it.

- Collect the best equipment
After defeating Ivy and Kuroyuri, before heading to Mount Schmitz, try collecting the Memory Stones in various locations.
You can view episodes featuring the Knights of the Six Flowers and obtain powerful equipment.
You can obtain Veronica's Greatsword at Mount Borsev in the north, Cattleya's Staff at the Kiel Marsh in the east, Hozuki's Knife at the Sidocus Mine in the south, and Ivy's Lab Coat at Julian Island in the west.

- Magic Swordsman Digan (3rd time)
With an average level of around 60 and everyone equipped with their specialized gear, we were able to defeat them without too much difficulty.
Defeating him will grant you 99,999 experience points and money, and Digan will be added to your character encyclopedia.
It is recommended to fight this after completing the main story.

- Post-game dungeon "Tower of the Demon God"
The "Ancient Tower Key," which you can obtain after clearing the game, can be used on the door located north of the town of Magistine.
Further ahead, in the Tower of the Demon God, even more formidable enemies await.
Incidentally, in the lower right corner of the poisonous swamp on the way to the tower, there is a treasure chest containing the book for Jail's skill, "Regenerator."
Enemies along the roads and in the towers drop armor exchange tickets for each level, making them useful for collecting exclusive equipment.

After defeating the secret boss deep within the Tower of the Demon God, a Gallery Crystal will appear in the town of Misty.
You will now be able to view all the single illustrations you have seen in the main story so far.

Review (contains spoilers)

This work featured many fascinating characters.
I'll write my thoughts on each character.
This contains significant spoilers, so I strongly recommend reading it only after you've finished the game.

Jail
From the very beginning of the story, I felt that the character already possessed unwavering conviction and determination, which I personally found appealing.
When the protagonist is this type of person, they often seem to suffer from the gap between their belief in justice and reality, but thankfully that wasn't the case in this work.
The scene in the first man-eating forest where she fearlessly cuts down the monster in the form of a young girl was both awe-inspiring and, at the same time, captivating because it had a certain dangerous quality to it.
He wasn't rigid or inflexible; he gave the impression of being a good captain who could handle situations flexibly.
I watched the scene at the end of the film where the anger explodes, along with Cuffs, and we were both incredibly excited.

In battle, she played a crucial role as a healer and defensive buff provider.
Although primarily a tank, its naturally high agility is a valuable asset, allowing it to act before many enemies.

·cuffs
At first, I thought he was a dangerously deranged character, but as the game progressed, I began to feel that he was actually quite rational.
I'm glad my older sister survived.

In combat, by enhancing attack power and critical hit rate, it was possible to unleash considerable burst damage, making it extremely powerful.
Since it has the highest physical attack power, it is the key to offense in automatic battles against weaker enemies.

Liz
Character-wise, she remained the same as when she first appeared; her impression never changed.
He was cute as the character who was often teased by Cuffs and Nigst.

You can defeat most mid-bosses by using Shield Coat at the start of the battle, and then using Magic Boost to unleash attacks of their weak element.
When facing multiple enemies, the Meteor Rain spell, which can be learned from a magic book, proved to be extremely powerful and useful.
This character was self-sufficient, recovering HP with Life Drain and MP with Concentration, so they could do something in any situation.

・Nigst
紳士的な態度ですが不気味な相貌だったので、裏切る展開などがあるのかなと思った時期がありましたが、全くそういうことはありませんでした。
She had a very good character, and I liked her relationship with Ivy.

Since many skills require items to be used, it was difficult to use skills freely outside of boss battles.
There were many useful skills, such as poisoning, attack reduction, and defense reduction.
After enhancing my attack power with runes, my rifle shots and rapid fire became quite powerful.
While she wasn't a main healer or attacker, she played a vital supporting role in the party.

Ares
At first, he was an unpleasant character, but after seeing his backstory with Liz, I felt quite sorry for him.
I thought I was definitely going to die, so I'm glad I survived.

Kei

I actually suspected he was some kind of mastermind, but that wasn't the case.
During the battle against Asebi, Kei's supporting attack dealt over 30,000 damage, allowing us to truly appreciate her incredible strength through these numbers.

Butts
To my embarrassment, I never suspected he was the mastermind, so I was really surprised at the end.
The final battle reminded me of the Straybow fight from Live A Live, and the background music made it incredibly exciting.
I was surprised to find out he was still alive, as I thought he had been eliminated and killed before the fight with Marigold.
The illustration, depicting someone imprisoned but still plotting something, was unsettling.

Veronica
As the first of the Six Knights to fight, she showcased a powerful personality and presence.
Although she has few appearances in the main story, she has many appearances in the past of the Six Knights, which can be seen in the Memory Stones.
Although he appeared to lack a sense of ethics, past records show him stating that "it's disgusting when children die," suggesting he does possess some degree of conviction.
After seeing her interactions with the other Six Knights, she ultimately became my favorite character.

Cattleya

In the main story, he gave the impression of being a ruthless seeker of magic, but in the Memory Stone, his image was completely reversed, giving the impression of a shota-loving, sexually depraved demon.
The comedic exchanges with Veronica, Iris, and the others were very memorable and left a lasting impression on me.

・Chinese lantern plant
In the main story, I didn't really understand what was going on and tried to defeat the minions first, but I ended up being wiped out.
I was surprised that he was still alive, but I thought it made sense that the foreshadowing had been laid out in the interaction with Iris using the Memory Stone.
It makes sense that Marigold isn't that strong because she's missing one of the Six Knights' souls.

Ivy
When he first appeared, he gave the impression of being a pretty dangerous person, but after seeing Nigst's flashbacks, I felt that it was understandable.
Every time I hear his catchphrase, "Ah ah," I'm reminded of Pokkle from Hunter x Hunter.
I had thought that he had become immortal by choice because he had research he wanted to do, but what struck me as refreshing was that he became immortal because he had completed his research and wanted to die.

・Black Lily
In the main story, she does some pretty wicked things with Ivy, but in the past records of the Memory Stone, she gives the impression of being a kind girl.
According to the character encyclopedia, it is said that the souls of 100 children were used, so it is quite a deeply sinful creation.
Considering that you need to replenish your energy frequently to function, I felt that Nigst was superior overall.
