This is an entry for the 14th WOLF RPG Editor Contest.
I was drawn to the cute artwork and the title "Boss Rush Tactics RPG" and downloaded it.
This RPG eliminates dungeon exploration and regular encounters, allowing you to focus entirely on boss battles.
The unique combat system provided a fresh gameplay experience.
The completion time was approximately 3 and a half hours.
Game Overview

A group of magic swordsmen, aiming to join the Adventurers' Guild in order to become adventurers, encounter an S-rank monster, Bahamut, near the town where the guild is located.
Having managed to retreat, the group decided to take on monster-slaying quests in order to become S-rank adventurers.

While there are four members in the initial tutorial, all four won't be together for a while.
Due to the demands of the story, the number of characters gradually increases from one to two to three, and so on.
You can't freely choose your companions; instead, you'll face battles with various combinations of characters as the story progresses.
Therefore, it is necessary to fight using tactics that are appropriate for the party at that time.

Most of the game takes place within the adventurer's guild.
You can accept requests to go on boss battles, get helpful combat information from other adventurers, and buy items and equipment.

The combat system employs a somewhat unique approach.
Each technique can only be used once per battle.
As each turn progresses, the "MP" displayed in the upper right corner increases by one, and you will be able to use techniques corresponding to the amount of MP you have.
This MP will never decrease, so you can simply think of it as an indicator of how far the battle has progressed.
As your MP increases, the techniques you can use become more powerful, and the same applies to your enemies.
Most battles are decided before reaching MP10 (i.e., the 10th turn), and the tension in the battles increases as they progress.
It's not simply a matter of unleashing powerful attacks to defeat enemies; it's crucial to utilize buffs, debuffs, and status effects while fighting.
Review (no spoilers)

I was able to complete it in about three and a half hours.
Since the majority of the game progresses solely through combat, it has a very fast pace.
At the start of a battle, you fight by using small, simple techniques, but the fun part is gradually being able to unleash more powerful techniques.
As your level increases, the variety of techniques you can use with each MP increases, broadening your tactical options.
The game basically involves constantly defeating bosses, so it can get a bit monotonous.
However, the party composition changes frequently as the story progresses, which shows an effort to keep players engaged and prevent them from getting bored.
While the elements of item shops and equipment are kept to a minimum, I think this is a game design that allows you to focus on combat.
Its greatest appeal lies in its adorable characters and lively interactions.
While the game's setting is mostly fixed, I think the game successfully increases motivation to progress by varying elements such as party composition and including many dialogue events.
However, as the game neared its end, the tactical patterns inevitably became fixed, and I tended to fight in a similar way regardless of the enemy.
However, the system where attacks intensify as the turns progress ensures excitement within each battle, providing a fresh and engaging gameplay experience.
I thought the way the story concluded was very well done.
Once you get the hang of the combat system, the difficulty level itself isn't that high.
It's easy to level up and earn money, so if you're interested, why not give it a try?
Strategy Notes
I think the difficulty level isn't too bad if you level up, but I'll write down a few strategy notes.
- All characters should learn Potion DX.
Potion DX, which restores a moderate amount of HP to everyone, is useful in any situation.
To be on the safe side, having everyone learn it will increase stability.
- Aim for burn and poison damage
Burns and poisons inflict significant damage and can inflict continuous damage, making them quite powerful.
Even if their power isn't very high, you should actively aim for moves that can inflict burns or poison.
- Techniques that allow you to specify a target can be used after paralyzing the target.
Techniques that allow you to target any enemy are convenient because, even though they only attack once, they reliably hit the intended target.
When you've lowered the enemy's defense or paralyzed them, be sure to target them and attack.
