Your Honor! What will you do? (Free short ADV) Introduction and Review

裁判長!どうしますか?(フリー・短編ADV)紹介・感想 game
This post can be read in about 3 minutes.

Since I used to specialize in criminal law, I was drawn to the title and ended up playing it.
This is a rare free game that deals with the theme of a trial.
HoweverIt's a lighthearted and enjoyable work, rather than one with a heavy or somber atmosphere.
Despite its lighthearted nature, the game has thought-provoking themes and is well-structured.
The playtime is about 30 minutes.

Your Honor! What shall we do?

Synopsis

The story follows Towako, the protagonist, who is appointed as a "special judge" by the heroic emperor, as she faces the challenge of ruling on three cases.
A "special judge" is a position that grants the authority to make judgments as they see fit, regardless of current laws or precedents.
As part of a hero's performance to reform the country, Towako, a sincere and upright person, was chosen for the task, but will she succeed...?

Game Overview

Basically, it's a game where you just read through the text and choose from the options.
Depending on the choices you make, the ending will branch into multiple possibilities.
There are some mini-game-like battles along the way, but they are not related to the core of the game.
It seems to contain a fair amount of crude humor, so please be aware of this if you are uncomfortable with sexual content.

The story unfolds slightly differently depending on your choices, but in the bonus room after clearing the game, you can try out all the different options to see what happens.
Therefore, there is no need to repeatedly play or save and load, allowing you to enjoy the game stress-free.

thoughts

While watching the news"If it were me, I would do it this way."It was very interesting to have the opportunity to experience what it's like to be a judge.
Some of the works are based on real-life incidents, making them difficult to judge.
No matter which verdict you choose, you'll inevitably face criticism from someone, so you get a real sense of how difficult it is to judge people.
Conversely, since it's a game where you can hand down any outrageous verdict and get away with it, I also felt a dictatorial thrill from wielding power.
While the overall tone is lighthearted, it deals with thought-provoking themes and was a rather interesting and thoughtful work.

The "Ace Attorney" series, for example, is a mystery adventure game set in a courtroom, so this is a completely different theme.
I also love Ace Attorney, but I think it's a bit of a misunderstanding to think you understand trials just from playing that game.

In connection with this work,There is a manga with a similar title called "Judge! How about 4 years in prison here?" (by Toro Kitao).
This work, too, is based on a real-life case, as the author attended the trial and wrote the story based on it, giving it a realistic feel of a courtroom.
There are no happy or sad endings; it's simply a straightforward reality (though of course, it's somewhat embellished for entertainment purposes), and I recommend this one as well.
