Time Logic Third Edition (RPG) Introduction, Impressions, and Strategy Notes

タイムロジック・サードエディション(RPG)紹介・感想・攻略メモ game
This post can be read in about 34 minutes.

This article is about "Time Logic Third Edition," an indie RPG created with RPG Maker MV.
This work is the third paid remake, following the free game "Time Logic" released in 2006 and "Time Logic Second Edition" released in 2016.

The reason I picked up this game was because it was by T-FTA, the same person who created the free, full-length RPG "World Peace & Peace," and I was very interested in it.
While "World Peace & Peace" had a dark atmosphere, this game, "Time Logic Third Edition," has the feel of a classic RPG with three main characters.

The game's main features are its unique customization system for each protagonist and its distinctive combat system.
My completion time was 25 hours, playing at a slightly leisurely pace.

Download the trial version or purchase the full game here (DLsite)
(As of February 2021, the price is ¥1,760 including tax.)

Game Overview

This game, "Time Logic Third Edition," is an RPG where you progress through the scenarios of three main characters.
During the game, you can switch to a different protagonist and progress through the story, or you can continue progressing through the story with the same protagonist throughout the entire game.
Since the three main characters are intertwined within their respective scenarios, switching between them at opportune moments will allow you to enjoy the story even more.

The main characters are three individuals: Louie, who aims to become a soldier in order to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his childhood friend; Lily, a girl who can talk to animals and sets out on a journey driven by curiosity and impulse; and Eckhart, a magic student who tries to solve the mystery of crystal stones by making contracts with spirits.
Each protagonist has a different customization system, ensuring that the game remains fresh even within the same series.

Battle System

The battles are semi-real-time, with characters starting to move as their AP (Action Points) accumulate.
When your AP reaches 30% or more, you can press the directional keys to input the command for the corresponding character.
Depending on the skill, you may not be able to use it unless you have a certain percentage of AP.
Then, if you perform a normal attack after it has reached 100%, it will be guaranteed to hit and will gain a critical hit effect.
You need to be flexible and decide whether to wait patiently until your AP is 100% full, or to strike before the enemy can act.

Additionally, you can use the Defense command at any time as long as your AP is 30% or higher.
Since the defensive state is not removed until you take your next action or your AP reaches 100%, various combat styles are possible, such as defending when the enemy attacks and then launching small attacks in between their actions.
Incidentally, characters who are incapacitated in battle do not receive experience points, but they will revive with 1 HP after the battle ends.

Customization

・Louie's Magic Sword

In Louie's chapter, magic swords are unlocked as the story progresses, with each level unlocked.
Registering a magic sword will reduce your maximum MP by the amount of its cost.
If you enable the use of many different types of magic swords, your maximum MP will decrease and quickly run out.
You can register and unregister magic swords at any time, so it's best to register several types of magic swords depending on the situation and use them without being too greedy.

Lily changes jobs.

In Lily's chapter, you can customize the protagonist by changing their job.
When you change jobs, the characteristics of that job will be activated, and special skills will become available depending on Lily's level.
Since changing jobs doesn't consume anything, you can do it as many times as you like without any hassle.

In addition, as a customization system distinct from job changes, Lily possesses points that can be freely allocated to her ability scores.
You can allocate points to any stat you like, such as HP, MP, attack power, and agility, so distribute them according to the situation.
If you're facing a tough enemy and getting defeated quickly, you can allocate more points to HP and defense. If you're trying to gain experience points, you can put all your points into attack power and magic power.
These points increase with the number of jobs.

Eckhart Magic Generation

The magic Eckhart can use is determined by the amount of mana he allocates to the spirits he has contracted with.
The ability to use magic depends on the amount of mana allocated to each spirit.
If you pour all your mana into a single spirit, you'll be able to use high-level magic of that element.
By allocating mana points to various spirits, you can use magic of various attributes, but you will be unable to use advanced magic.
However, there are also powerful composite spells that can only be used by assigning them to multiple specific spirits.
Let's try various approaches and find the optimal distribution based on the situation.

Your total mana value will increase as the story progresses.
You can allocate your mana points as you like at any time, so it's a good idea to review whether the spells you currently have available are optimal when you visit a new dungeon or before a boss battle.

Abundant game settings

"Time Logic Third Edition" allows for some pretty bold game settings.
Battle speed settings are commonly seen,You can change the encounter rate, battle difficulty, and other settings at any time.
If you're playing the game and find that there are too many encounters or that the battles are too difficult, you should adjust the settings to what you find most comfortable.

To use this effectively, when you want to level up, set the encounter rate to maximum and the battle difficulty to minimum for efficient grinding (setting the battle difficulty to minimum not only weakens enemies but also increases the experience points and money you gain).
You could also use it to lower the encounter rate to the lowest setting only when you're about to be wiped out deep inside a dungeon.

Since each player has different preferences for settings, I think the most important thing is to set it up in a way that you find comfortable to play with.

Review (no spoilers)

I was able to play through the main story to the end and successfully complete it.
This game evoked a nostalgic feeling, reminiscent of later Super Famicom RPGs.
The game showed respect for various other works, such as the three-character storyline progression like in "Rudra no Hihou," the job change system like in "FF5," the time-themed story like in "Chrono Trigger," and the journey of making contracts with spirits like in "Tales of Phantasia."
Those looking for a game with a strong, distinctive style might find it lacking, but for those who want a game they can enjoy without any worries, I would highly recommend it.

Initially, I played with the battle difficulty set to the default "3-NORMAL" and the encounter rate set to "3-Standard".
However, after progressing through the story to a certain point, I found that grinding became necessary before every boss battle, so I ultimately switched to "1-VERY EASY."
If I had refined my tactics a bit more, I might have been able to complete the game at the same difficulty level, but my desire to advance the story quickly won out, and I lowered the difficulty.

However, I felt that "VERY EASY" wasn't necessarily very easy.
Even with the difficulty level set to the lowest setting, there were still times when we were wiped out, so the battles never lost their challenge.
You can adjust the encounter rate to the minimum when you want to focus on exploring dungeons, and I never felt dissatisfied with the difficulty level.
The fact that you can customize it to suit your player style is a very thoughtful feature.

Regarding the graphics, the cute character designs, reminiscent of "Summon Night," seemed to suit the overall feel of the game.
The clear distinction between friend and foe, and the lack of detailed explanations for the enemy's circumstances, made it enjoyable in a simple, straightforward good-versus-evil way.

The combat system was initially confusing due to its unique mechanics, but as I played, I gradually began to understand how to fight.
If you couldn't act until you accumulated 1001 AP and 3 TP, it would be a typical type of battle, but what's interesting is that you can act even when you've accumulated 301 TP and 3 TP.
Ideally, you'd want to wait until you've accumulated enough AP to trigger a critical hit (100%) before attacking, but various strategies arise, such as trying to defeat the enemy before they act by attacking even if it's not at maximum, or having enough AP to act at any time but deciding to keep your character on standby so you're prepared for any attack the enemy might launch.
When you first form a four-person party, if you haven't decided on your own combat strategy, you'll be unsure about who to have act and how, so I think the very fact that you're unsure during combat is what makes it interesting.

In conclusion, I was very satisfied and it was worth more than the price.
For those who love the mature RPGs of the later Super Famicom era, this is an irresistible title.

These are minor points, but I'd like to mention a few things that caught my attention.
エックハルトの魔法を使うとき、使用可能になっている魔法の属性によっては、何枚かページをめくらないと使用できないことがあります。
Flipping through so many pages is a hassle, so I think it would be much easier if there was a command memory function or if the list of spells was displayed with all the blanks filled in.
One more point, though minor, concerns maps used in the field.
While a map of the area around your current location is always displayed, there's no opportunity to see the entire world map, which made it difficult to grasp the relative locations of towns and dungeons.
Not knowing your current location in the world doesn't significantly affect the game's progression, but knowing it would have enhanced the feeling of traveling the world.
ただ、周辺の地図が分かれば、ゲーム進行としては問題ないので、この点はただの好みだと思っています。

Strategy Notes (Contains Spoilers)

As mentioned earlier, the difficulty level can be changed in this game.
If you're having trouble, try setting the battle difficulty to "VERY EASY," equipping yourself with the latest gear, and leveling up; you should be able to win most battles that way.
Therefore, the following strategy notes do not contain very detailed information.
I hope this information will be helpful as a reference for things like where to go next.

Louie's Chapter

・Naka Castle Town
At the reception desk of the "Royal Suite" inn, you can obtain Estork (+110) by checking the shelf behind the counter only at the exact moment immediately after your room is taken by a violent man.
This is an extremely powerful weapon, so be sure to acquire it.
Afterwards, be careful when you talk to the soldiers in front of the castle after staying the night at Mii's house, as it will trigger a battle.
After the battle, you'll receive a pass, so head south to the Naka Cave, which leads to the Tower of Trials.

- Tower of Trials
This dungeon is reminiscent of the early tower in "Dragon Quest VI".
There is a 30-minute time limit, and various challenges are involved.
On the top floor, you'll face a boss battle against Suzanne.

・Naaka's Cave ~ Port Town of Fores
After the event at the castle is over, we'll head through the Naka Cave towards the port town and then on to Fores.
In the port town of Forres, after speaking with someone in a house to the southwest, you will board a boat.

- The Church of Veba - Underground
After the event, you will explore the church's basement.
The Black Knight, which you fight as a boss, primarily uses single-target attacks.
It would be best to maintain a defensive stance while keeping Suzanne on standby to provide first aid at any time.
After defending, attack once your gauge is at 100%.
If it looks like your opponent is about to attack, wait in a defensive position to receive their attack before taking any action.

After defeating the Black Knight, the exploration of the underground area will begin in earnest.
Treasure chests can contain powerful equipment such as the "Star Rapier" and "Heavy Shield," so try to collect as many as possible.
You can obtain the key to the door by defeating the pale blue, glowing fiery ghost in the back.
This will allow you to open the door on the left of the location where the Time Crystal is located and proceed.

Once you reach the chapel on the surface, you will be engaged in battle with the Unknown.
Since it uses Firewall, an area-of-effect attack, it will be easier if you have Louie's Heal Blade to heal the entire party.

- Port east of Stahl Village ~ Regular ferry
The story progresses as you purchase a boarding pass at the port east of Stahl Village and board the ship.

A naval battle begins on the regular ferry.
After defeating 10 pirates, you'll have to search for their leader.
Normally, contact will result in combat, but you can also defeat them by pressing the confirm button from behind (however, you won't gain experience points or anything else).
The boss is on the bow of the deck, but he'll escape soon.
After they escape, head to the warehouse on the lower level, where you'll find the door open, and you'll fight Eckhart and his group there.
Eckhart and Minerva are quick to act and will launch fierce attacks using area-of-effect magic.
I don't know if we'll win, but even if we lose, the story will continue.

- Port town of Fores ~ Naka abandoned mine ~ Naka cave ~ Naka castle town
If you've lost to Eckhart, your party should be in critical condition, so it would be a good idea to stay at an inn.
When you try to leave town, Saria will join your party.
After that, let's go through the cave and return to Naka.
The equipment in Naka's castle town has been completely revamped, so if you have the means, you should buy new gear.
The story progresses as you head towards the throne room.

- Naka Mountain Path ~ Dwarf Cave
Head west from Naka and enter the Naka mountain path.
If you enter the mountain path and head west, you will find the entrance to the dwarf cave.
Once you enter the dwarf village, check the signpost and head towards the exit leading to the magic city of Grimm.
村の中でドワーフに話しかけると、村の入り口に追い返されてしまいます。

If you go deep into the dwarf cave, you will face off against the Blue Dragon.
Since the Blue Dragon is weak against fire, it's best to attack it with fire-based attacks.
However, since Ice Breath is a powerful area-of-effect attack, it's more stable for Louie to have Heal Blade ready rather than attacking with Flame Tongue.
After the battle, you will obtain "Ice Tears," which can freeze lava, and Louie's Magic Sword Lv2 will be unlocked.
On one of the paths that becomes passable with the Ice Tear, you can find the "Wishbone" accessory, which increases all of your stats, so be sure to pick it up.

- Magic City Grimm ~ Naka Military Port ~ Naka South Gate ~ Legendary Village Edda
First, visit the third floor of the school, and then proceed from the underground warehouse to the Grimm underground passage.
After finishing the event in Grimm, the next step is to head from the northern naval base to the Naka South Gate.
After talking to Lord at the South Gate, head north to the legendary village of Edda.
Visiting the tool shop "Sincerely" will lead to a conversation with Melissa, and you will then be able to speak with the Elder.
After the event where you receive "Porvenir," you will head back to the Naka South Gate.

・Naaka South Gate to Guld Gate
Upon arrival, there will be a series of battles after the event.
The battle proceeds in the following order: 3 Black Knights → 4 Black Knights → 2 Black Knights + 2 Dark Knights.

Inside Guldgate, first go to the dungeon and get the key from the soldier.
After that, by pressing switches 1 through 5 in order, the door directly above the Time Crystal will open.
After the event in the commander's room, you will head back north and return to Edda.

- The village of Edda
In Edda, you'll fight two Black Dragon Knights, but they mainly use single-target attacks, so you shouldn't have too much trouble.
Next up is a battle against Tokkuri and two Black Dragon Knights.
Since Tokkuri uses area-of-effect attacks such as Big Plasma, you will also need to prepare area-of-effect healing methods such as Louie's Heal Circle.
Since Tokkley is weak against fire, Saria should attack with Flame.

・Naaka Naval Port ~Naaka Castle Town ~Naaka South Gate ~Guld Gate
After the event in Edda, you will board a ship from the Naka naval base and return to the town of Naka.
Upon arriving in Naqa, we will head to the throne room to meet the king.
After that, an event will occur at the castle entrance, and the event will progress if you sleep in a bed in the soldiers' barracks.
The next day, your magic sword level will reach 3.
After that, head to the port and board a boat to go to the Naka South Gate.
At the Naka South Gate, the lineup of items in the underground shop has changed, but you can still purchase weapons and armor from the traveling merchant at the Guld Gate to the south.

- Guld Mountain Pass ~ Imperial Capital South Gate ~ Guld Castle Town
The mountain path in Guld is not very long.
After passing through the mountain path, you will soon reach the South Gate of the Imperial Capital.
You can obtain Excalibur at the South Gate after the event.
Upon entering the next town, Guld Castle Town, the event will progress.

Guld Castle
Obtain the key to the soldiers' barracks from Jandre, who is behind the door on the side path from the center.
You can obtain the armory key in the room you enter using that key.
Use it on the opposite side from where Jandre was, where Miranda is.

In the armory, you will fight the boss, Illea.
Since it will use Dark Eye to inflict darkness, be sure to have a way to remove the darkness.
If you don't have it, fight without using normal attacks.
Its weakness is fire.

After the barrier in the central corridor is removed and you proceed, you will fight Gustav after an event.
Gustav doesn't use area-of-effect attacks, but he does unleash powerful single-target elemental attacks.
Once you inflict a certain amount of damage, the enemy will gain the ability to act twice, and their attacks will intensify.
Let's use defensive commands to gradually whittle down their health.

After defeating Gustav, Tokkley awaits you.
The single-target attacks that inflict status ailments such as confusion, darkness, and sealing are troublesome, so be sure to prepare some means of healing.
In particular, we want to take measures to address the confusion that can prevent people from taking action.
Since it is weak against fire and holy attributes, normal attacks with Louie's Excalibur and Saria's Miracle Bomb are effective.
Once you inflict a certain amount of damage, the enemy will start healing itself, so make sure you inflict more damage than the amount it heals.
After using Energy Focus, he will unleash a multi-hit attack called "Reaper's Scythe" that targets randomly, so don't forget to defend yourself.

Lily's Chapter

Snow Forest
If your body temperature drops below 32 degrees Celsius, you will be forcibly returned to the entrance.
Be careful.
In battle, Lily is weak and doesn't deal much damage, so try to use 100% AP attacks after guarding.
The boss fight basically involves repeatedly using Guard → AP100% Attack.
To avoid taking damage from the enemy between your 100% AP attack and guard, attack immediately after the enemy's action.

North Mountain Trail
Before visiting the dungeon, be sure to get a Hi-Potion from the old woodcutter.
Since each item sells for 200G, it's a good idea to equip yourself in Star Village before proceeding.
However, there are plenty of good equipment items for sale in the next town, Klik, so it might be better to buy things sparingly.

On the mountain trail, you might even cross paths with Eckhart.
Since we are weaker than the enemy, let's continue fighting while carefully protecting our 100% AP from guarding, just like before.

• The town of Klik
Gather information, go shopping, and do other activities.
Afterward, based on the information gathered, you recruit Luna in the "small forest" to the south.
From here, you can change Lily's job, so let's make use of it.

After returning to town and being turned away by the gatekeeper at the mayor's mansion, you can enter the mansion again by seeing a notice posted at the cafe.
You'll face off against the demon maid chief at the entrance.
The Demon Maid Chief is a formidable opponent, using whips for area-of-effect attacks and techniques that inflict paralysis.
To counter paralysis, you'll need to either purchase Disbel Herb or have Luna learn Recover at level 9, otherwise you'll struggle.
I think you can fight more stably if you keep Luna off the field and have her on standby so she can heal immediately if anything happens.
I equipped myself at the shop and then defeated the enemy with Lily (Lv7), Kubes (Lv8), and Luna (Lv9).

- Sewers - Mayor's Residence
The answer to the sewer passcode is "World" and "Egg Heart".
After escaping the sewers, you receive a lantern from the sturdy maid in the break room.
After that, defeat the Bubu Bugs at the bottom of the dark stairs near the sewer exit and obtain the item, which will advance the story.

After the operation is carried out, you will engage in battle with the butler's muscular side.
They unleash powerful attacks, including area-of-effect attacks and a "roar" that reduces everyone's AP to 0%.
Try to fight in a way that avoids taking damage as much as possible while not defending.
If you don't prepare healing items such as potions, there's a high probability that Luna's healing alone won't be enough.
After the event, you will be able to change your job to Witch.

Port town of Fores ~ Spring of the Spirits
After arriving in Forres, head northeast from the town to the Spirit Spring.
After talking with Martel, let's head to the pirate hideout cave in the southwest.

- Pirate's hideout cave ~ Pirate's hideout ~ Underwater cave
Inside the cave, there are mechanisms to flip switches and place a statue of a goddess.
The switching process might be a little complicated.
After watching the events involving Karahan and Jandor, we'll move on to the next part.
We'll move forward by dropping two ladders down the cliff.

When you reach the pirate hideout, Karahan will join your crew.
After that, let's examine the goddess statue to find the way to the ruins.
Examining the statue of the goddess will trigger a battle with Disguise.
Since it's weak to lightning, Thunder is effective. If you examine the goddess statue in the right spot, a secret passage will appear after the battle, allowing you to go to the underwater cave.
In the underwater cave, there is a treasure chest containing a book that allows Kubes to learn "Virtual Miracle," so be sure to collect it.

- Mist Oasis to Farad Ruins
Beyond the cave, on the north side of the desert, lies the Mist Oasis.
The equipment lineup has been completely revamped, so let's take a look.

At the ruins, there's a mechanism where you collect torches of three different colors and light them in designated locations.
In addition to the red torch at the entrance, lighting red, blue, and green torches will allow you to proceed.
Once you light the three colored torches, there isn't a specific message indicating that the door will open, but you will be able to proceed.
There are many treasure chests containing equipment and other items, so be sure to collect them all.
Further inside, you can obtain crystal stones, which will allow you to change your job to Amazoness.

After that, you'll face off against Suzu in a boss battle.
They give the impression of being a formidable opponent, and everyone takes heavy damage from their initial Life Shaver attack.
At a minimum, you need to train your characters to the point where no one is incapacitated in this attack.
Since many of the other attack methods are area-of-effect magic, Luna's Heal All alone may not be enough to heal everyone.
Making Lily a cleric would probably make things more stable.
I think it's best to have Kubes and Karahan focus on attacking, while keeping Lily and Luna on standby, ready to use healing magic at any time.

- Mist Oasis ~ Dwarf's Cave ~ Dwarf's Village ~ Dwarf's Cave
If you try to head towards Grimm, an event will occur where Eckhart gets captured.
Let's go to the prison on the right side of the village and help them.
After the event, you will be able to change your job to Dancer.

In the cave leading towards Grimm, you will need to defeat the Red Dragon.
As you can see, its weakness is ice, and it breathes fire, which is an area-of-effect attack.
In addition, the "Triple Attack" is quite powerful, so it's a good idea for Luna, who is in charge of healing, to keep in a guard state.
If you find the attacks too intense, you can use Burning Robe to cover fire damage, or equip accessories to improve your physical defense so you can withstand triple attacks.

- The Magic City of Grimm
Go to the 3rd floor of the magic school to advance the event.
After the event, you can obtain the "Ripple Whistle," which allows you to summon a ship at the pier on the map.
You can obtain information about the wise by talking to various people within the school.
Let's make sure to gather all the information we need.

- Edda Village of Legends ~ Gate South of Naka ~ Guld Gate ~ Guld Mountain Pass ~ South Gate of the Imperial Capital
Even if you go to the old woodcutter's place right away, nothing will happen yet.
Let's head to the legendary village of Edda.
It's located near the pier after you disembark by boat heading southeast from the magic city of Grimm.
Talk to the elder and obtain Excalibur.
After obtaining Excalibur, go through the gate south of the village and follow Louie.

North Mountain Trail ~ A House in the Mountains
If you climb the North Mountain Path north from the magic city of Grimm, you will find a secluded house in the mountains at the end of the path.
Talking to them will trigger an event.

- Temple of Time ~ The Woodcutter's House
This is a temple on a small island located west of the Farad ruins.
Once you have completed the event where you receive Polvenir from Louie, you can use the ring to proceed further.
Further inside, you will fight Naga.
Naga unleashes single-target attacks that inflict various status ailments.
Make sure you have a way to cure status ailments, even if it's just with items.
After the battle, you will be able to change your job to Fenrir.
ナーガを倒したあとに、木こりのおじいさんと会うと、イベントが進行していきます。

• Fairy Forest
Once you're free to move around by ship, talk to the fairy deep inside the Fairy Forest south of the Farad Ruins, and all of Lily's parameters will increase by 20.

Firefly Cave
The Firefly Cave is a cave located west of Naka Castle, accessible only by boat.
If you go further in, you will reach the ruins of the Nasrid Kingdom.

• The clock tower of Parada
To proceed, examine and defeat the evil god statue located at the 10 o'clock position on a clock face.
At the very end, you will fight Zeega, Left Eye, and Right Eye.
The two companions on either side will inflict status ailments, heal Zeega, and revive him, so try to defeat them as quickly as possible with area-of-effect attacks.
They don't have very high HP, but if you don't defeat them at roughly the same time, they'll revive with "Resurrection".
The central Zeega unleashes powerful attacks, including area-of-effect attacks and single-target attacks that can be performed twice.
If possible, make Lily a cleric so that she and Luna can both be healers.
Since a long battle is expected, don't hesitate to stock up on MP recovery items.

Eckhart's Chapter

• The Ruins of Jules
In the early stages, you don't have any means of healing, so healing items are important.
Allocate five mana to Eckhart's Ifrit to generate a spell so he can cast Fireball.
The boss, Mad Clay, unleashes a barrage of fireballs with the two of them.
When the enemy attacks, defend yourself to minimize the damage you take.
Let's use the same tactics against the Unknowns we'll fight next.

You'll have a battle with White and Black when you try to escape, but the story will progress even if you lose.

North Mountain Trail
Before you attempt the challenge, make sure you're well-equipped in town and have some healing items ready.
Ogres, which normally appear as enemies, are powerful and formidable opponents.
After passing through the mountain path, you'll come across a house where you can recover.

In the latter half of the journey, along the mountain path, you'll pass Lily and then face two consecutive battles against werewolves.
Be careful.

Staal Village
Before entering the Snow Forest, make a stop in Stahl Village and purchase a Stahl Robe.
It halves the damage from ice-element attacks.
Also, an event will occur in the bar located in the basement of the tool shop.
You cannot proceed further into the Ice Cave unless you trigger this event and meet Mr. Necker.

Snow Forest ~ Ice Cave
This dungeon is fairly long, so make sure to gather plenty of herbs.
If there are many enemies, don't hesitate to use area-of-effect magic like Firewall to defeat them efficiently.
To defeat the boss, the Ice Queen, poison her with Burn, then attack her with Flame and Fireball.
If you can halve the ice-element attacks with the Star Robe, the battle will be considerably easier.

- Port east of Stahl Village ~ Regular ferry
In pirate attacks on regular passenger ships, the pirates are strong, so it might be best not to get involved unnecessarily.
If you lose, your money decreases.
If you follow the female pirate, going from the bow of the deck → the galley → the deck → the locked door in the lower right of the passenger corridor → in front of the captain's cabin, you will be able to obtain the key.
After obtaining the key, the event will progress once you enter the ship's warehouse.
After that, you'll fight Louie and his two companions, but the story will progress even if you lose.

- Pirate hideout cave
By allocating mana to the Ice Queen, you will be able to use First Aid, a healing spell.
Now you can finally heal using magic, so make good use of it.
Normally, the enemy snake woman is resistant to fire and ice, and the little demons are resistant to magic in general.
A party of wizards will have a tough time, so it might be better to avoid fighting aggressively.

The boss, Headcutter, will be fought by a team of three, including Chacott.
Let's make Chacott the main attacker, Eckhart the healer with First Aid, and Minerva take on actions depending on the situation.

・Lease Village ~ Wind Mountain
Visiting Mayor Isidro in Reese Village will advance the story and Carnelia will join your party.
The shop now has new equipment on display, so be sure to buy some items that will be useful in the next dungeon, such as the Elven Cloak which reduces wind damage.
By the way, you can find one Elf Cloak in a treasure chest on the Wind Mountain.

Various gimmicks are set up on Mount Kaze.
There are treasure chests containing powerful weapons like the Main Gauche at the bottom of the waterfall, so you'll want to explore that area thoroughly.

Sylph primarily attacks with wind-element attacks, such as the area-of-effect attack Twister and the single-target attack Wind.
Equipping everyone with an elf cloak will make things easier.
Since it's weak to lightning, have Minerva ready to use Thunder, Eckhart ready to use ice magic for healing, Chacott ready to attack, and Carnelia ready to attack and heal the entire party.

- Fairy Forest ~ Dwarf Cave
There are no changes to the equipment lineup at the Fairy Forest shop.
In the Dwarf's Cave, there are many enemies weak to ice, so allocate your mana so you can use plenty of ice magic.
The boss, Diablo, primarily attacks with magic attacks of various elements.
Lightning and Fire Lancer, in particular, are powerful area-of-effect attacks, so be sure to conserve your healer's AP so you can heal the entire party at any time.
Other powerful single-target spells include Ice Rock and Burst Bomb.
Carnelia has a resurrection ability, so be careful not to let her get defeated by keeping her in a defensive state at all times.

- Dwarf Village ~ Naka Mountain Path ~ (Naka Village) ~ Naka Castle Town
After an event in the dwarf village, you proceed through the dwarf cave towards Naka.
Once you exit the cave, you'll be on the mountain path of Naka.
You probably don't need to stop by Naka Village, but if you talk to Louie's father, Robert, you can learn about Robert's past.

In the town of Naka Castle, you'll find powerful equipment, so make sure you're well-equipped.
You can get 4800G from a treasure chest near the entrance of Naka's Cave, so you might want to collect that before you go shopping.

・Naaka's Cave ~ Thunder Spirit's Shrine ~ Illusionary World of Spirits
Following the signs, you'll pass through the cave and reach the shrine of the Thunder Spirit, from which you can proceed to the illusionary world of spirits.
Within the dungeon, there are several maps that are like infinite loops.
I didn't know the exact rules, but I managed to get through it by just going with the flow.
There is a battle against four Unknowns along the way.
Since there are four of them, let's focus our attacks on one at a time and take them down.

Further inside, you will face off against Rylun.
Its weakness is ice.
For area-of-effect attacks like Lightning and Big Plasma, use Heal All to quickly heal your party.
Once you inflict a certain amount of damage, it will start using Focus Energy.
Nothing happens this turn, but be careful as it will unleash a powerful attack on the next turn.
Shockwave, which attacks multiple times randomly, and Thunderstorm, which attacks all enemies, are powerful, so having everyone defend as much as possible will help minimize damage.
If you go on the defensive, you'll be constantly on the defensive, so be prepared to take some damage.

・Naaka's Cave ~ Spirit Spring
Upon entering the Spirit Spring, you will engage in combat with Martel after a conversation.
You might want to go to the port town of Fores first to get your equipment and supplies ready.
In addition to magic attacks, Martel can also silence you with Silence, so it's a good idea to equip Eckhart and Minerva with items that prevent silence.
After the battle ends, you will be able to make a contract with the spirit of light, Martel.

- Port town of Fores ~ Naka South Gate ~ Guld Gate ~ Gram Ruins
If you talk to Gomez at the port north of town, he will let you board his ship.
After that, I headed south from the point where I was dropped off.
After passing through two gates, you can reach the Gram Ruins.

- Rough Road ~ Firefly Cave ~ (Legendary Village Edda) ~ Nasr Kingdom ~ Resistance Headquarters
If you take the rough path and go through the Firefly Cave, you can reach the legendary village of Edda.
In the village, if you talk to the elder, you will receive 8000G and an item.
If you take a different route along the rough road, you will arrive at the Nasrid Kingdom.

The lineup of shops in the Nasrid Kingdom has been completely revamped.
Ordering "Time Lime" multiple times at the bar will advance the story (you may need to listen to the townspeople's conversations to trigger certain events).

If you place orders multiple times, you will fight Miranda after the event.
Miranda mainly uses physical attacks such as area-of-effect slashes, and as long as you keep healing properly, she's not a particularly tough opponent.
After the event, sleeping in the bed at the resistance headquarters will advance the story.

Lost Factory
This is the final dungeon in Eckhart's chapter.
Beyond the point where you've deactivated the trap, a boss battle against Melkor awaits.
This is quite a formidable opponent, so if you're feeling unsure, it's best to go back to shopping.
By exiting through the entrance, you can return to the resistance headquarters and recover your strength by sleeping.

Melkor primarily attacks with powerful magic attacks such as Cyclone Spear, Blizzard, and Meteor.
Using "Magic Barrier" to mitigate elemental attacks or equipping gear that provides resistance to elemental damage will make things a little easier.
Since Melkor is quick to act, prepare two healers and be ready to heal at any time during the battle.

Final Chapter

The introduction to the final chapter changes depending on whose character you defeat last.
After merging, the content will converge to the same point.

・Naaka Castle
Louie can now use Magic Sword Lv4, Lily can change her job to Chronos, and Eckhart makes a contract with Justice.
And so, with the addition of their final companion, the party of four continues onward.
Items and money collected in each scenario are aggregated.
The castle town has been destroyed, but there are still places to buy things, so make sure to stock up on equipment and healing items.

・Naaka Cave ~ Naaka South Gate
Once you exit the southern cave, you'll soon reach the Gram Ruins.
近くにナーカ南ゲートがあるので、ここでも買い物をしたり休んだりすることは可能です。

Gram Ruins
The Gram Ruins aren't a particularly large dungeon, but you'll be tackling them in the following order.

① Pull the lever to open the iron gate.
② Go through the open iron grate and pull the lever at the end to drain the water.
③ Proceed past the drained water, manipulate all the protrusions, and defeat the magical creature golems.
(Golems are very susceptible to fire attacks such as Demon Flare.)
④ If you go back a little, you can pick up the "Key to the Gram Ruins".
⑤ Use the key you obtained to open the iron gate and proceed.

You will fight Melkor further inside.
Since they use area-of-effect magic and "Heartless Angel," which reduces everyone's HP to 1, area-of-effect healing magic is essential.
Be aware that if you use a single-target attack, the enemy will act twice.
Also, the "Dimension" attack, which deals 999 damage to a single target, is tough, so make sure you can revive your characters quickly.
Because it changes its attribute with "Barrier Change," the attribute attacks you were previously able to use may be absorbed.

- Underwater cave ~ Mysterious cave ~ Source of time
If you proceed further in and pass through the Time Crystal to the north, you can visit Reese Village.
If you need to do any shopping, it's a good idea to stop by.
If you head west, you can proceed from the ruins to the clock tower of Parada.

• The clock tower of Parada
Vishna is waiting at the entrance and will fully heal your party as many times as you need.
You can't go shopping, but recovery is not a problem.
In the clock tower area, you will progress through the areas, each designed to resemble a clock face, in any order you choose.

1:00 PM: Examining the stone tablet will reveal a path, allowing you to proceed.
2 o'clock: The traps on the floor are reversed on the left and right, so proceed with caution.
3:00: Nothing in particular.
4 o'clock: Just proceed clockwise.
5 o'clock: There is some very powerful equipment inside, so even though there are enemies, let's open everything up.
6:00: Nothing in particular.
7:00: Let's proceed while skillfully avoiding the bats.
8:00 AM: Battle against two magical creature golems.
9:00: Identify the floor that doesn't disappear at any time, and proceed using that as a safe zone.
10:00: Examine the center of the gap to make the bridge appear.
11:00: Nothing in particular.
12:00: Nothing in particular.

If you release all of time, you will never be able to return to any of those time periods.
Be especially careful not to miss any treasure chests, especially those found at 5 o'clock.
When you reach the top, you will fight Garuda.
They attack with area-of-effect lightning magic such as Lightning and Thunderstorm, as well as Shockwave, a series of single-target attacks.
They are quite agile and attack very quickly, so be careful not to get overwhelmed.

・Leese Village
We'll head north through the Firefly Cave and go towards Reese Village.
An event will occur when you enter the village chief's house.
After that, if you stay at the inn, the story will progress and a bridge will be built across the river to the east.

・Time Rift ~ Desesperado
Once you enter the Time Rift, the events will proceed almost automatically, with two battles interspersed throughout.
You will fight Salamander and two Minos.
Minos has high attack power and requires caution, but neither of them are as strong as a boss.

After the event, we will arrive in De Sesperado.
The dungeon contains many treasure chests with valuable equipment, so try to collect as many as possible. You will be able to proceed once you have defeated all the bosses.

Thanatos's area-of-effect magic attacks are extremely powerful.
We need to take measures to prevent any party members from being incapacitated by area-of-effect magic attacks.
Have Eckhart use Magic Barrier to mitigate damage from all elements.
If you're still having casualties even after using this, you might want to level up a bit.
Once you've cast Magic Barrier, all you have to do is heal everyone in your party to keep their HP at full and then fight.
Thanatos's HP isn't very high.

The Chaos Dragon attacks while lowering your stats with Weakmaker.
Additionally, when its health decreases, it will use Heal Max to restore its own HP to 999.
Once we've whittled them down to a certain extent, let's all work together to finish them off.
Its weakness is the Holy element.

Maxim Chimera's single-target attacks are powerful after it has charged up its strength.
Make sure to defend properly so you don't get defeated.
Since it's weak to fire, Demon Flare is very effective.

After defeating the three bosses, you will be able to go to Maxwell.
Maxwell in the first battle isn't particularly strong, as he mainly uses Cyclone Sphere's area-of-effect or single-target attacks.

The attack methods for the second battle include Assault Blow (two random attacks), Drain, and Initialize (freezing wave).
I don't think it will be too difficult.

After dealing a certain amount of damage, its attack pattern will change.
Missing is particularly powerful, and you should definitely defend against it as soon as the message "Beyond Chaos, the End is Approaching" appears as a preparatory action before it is activated.
After surviving the attack, you'll want to recover your AP as quickly as possible.
Immediately after being hit by Heartless Angel, if Jandre uses Life Sacrifice, it's a great opportunity to inflict massive damage.
Since they don't seem to use Initialize at this stage, it's safe to cast Magic Barrier or put them in an automatic revival state with World Peace & Peace.
In particular, the "Absurd Trash Can" is a guaranteed death attack, so you'll want to have automatic resurrection as a countermeasure.

Defeating them will lead to the ending.
After the credits roll, you'll be taken to a scenario selection screen where you can save your game.
You can find hints about hidden bosses and more.
If you choose Louie, Lily, or Eckhart, you can start each chapter just before the final boss, maintaining the level you were at when you cleared the game.

- Secret training room
If you re-enter the final chapter with your cleared save data, a staircase will appear in the training grounds inside Naka Castle, allowing you to fight a hidden boss.

In hidden boss battles, even if you lose, it's not game over, and the number of items you used will be reset to the amount you had before the battle.
It's significantly stronger than the final boss, so you'll need to power it up properly.

Review (contains spoilers)

For me, having grown up playing RPGs on the Super Famicom, this game, "Time Logic Third Edition," brought back a sense of nostalgia and excitement from those days.
If players come from similar backgrounds, they'll likely understand and internalize the game system naturally, even without an explanation.

I think the way the three characters' storylines intertwined was just right.
If the storylines are too closely intertwined, there will be a lot of overlapping scenes when you switch the main character.
I think it would be easier to understand if you switch between modes at regular intervals.
Of course, even if you cleared it one by one all at once, you could still enjoy it without any problems.

What I liked most about the game was the contents of the treasure chests in the dungeons.
I felt that a significant portion of the treasure chests contained powerful equipment, which made searching for them quite enjoyable.
The new equipment available in the shop also seemed to offer significant improvements, making it worthwhile to upgrade.
The balance was such that acquiring all the new equipment would leave you somewhat short on money, which I think helped maintain motivation for regular battles.

In terms of combat, I felt that area-of-effect attacks and area-of-effect heals were generally very useful.
I played through the game on a low difficulty setting, but if you're going to play on a higher difficulty, I think you'll need to make use of status effect techniques and elemental attacks.

Seeing the three of them team up to challenge the final boss in the last chapter was predictable, but still exciting.
It reminded me of my favorite Famicom game, "Knight Gundam Story 2," where the main characters from chapters 1 through 3 join forces in chapter 4 with the addition of another character.
In particular, the final battle sequence on the map in the time rift was an exciting development reminiscent of a visual novel, making it feel like the culmination of the story.
The final Desesperado reminded me of the last floor of FF5, and the final battle also had an atmosphere that made me think of Exdeath and Neo Exdeath.

My favorite background music is the one from the legendary village of Edda.
I like towns where ancient people are said to be hiding, like the Mirage Town in FF5 or the Forgotten Town in Romancing SaGa 2; they have a mysterious and solemn atmosphere.
Also, I really like Lily's field music; it has a sense of being spontaneous and brave, which suits her character.

Below, I will write my thoughts on each of the main characters individually.

Louie
While I would have liked to use her as an area-of-effect attacker with her magic sword, she's a valuable asset because she can also heal the entire party, so I often used her as the main healer.
They are a bit too serious, and their alignment would be something like order and good.
While I felt that being a soldier, a job similar to that of a police officer, might be his true calling, I couldn't help but worry, even though it wasn't my business, about whether he and Mary would be able to get along.
I'm worried that Louie's overly serious nature might unknowingly make Mary feel stifled and restricted, leading to their breakup.

Rostam
He performed well as an easy-to-understand physical attacker.
Axes have high attack power, but attacks often miss, so I generally equipped my character with a sword.
I think he and the overly serious Louie make a great team.

Suzanne
She excelled as both a single-target attacker and a single-target healer.
Since I was using Louie as the main healer, Suzanne was a supporting healer.
I initially envisioned using a sword, but ultimately I often equipped it with a Shooting Star and had it attack without regard for defense.

Saria
Although she's a magic attacker, she learns powerful spells a bit late, so I often felt she lacked firepower.
In normal battles, I often used the area-of-effect attack Cold, and my role was mostly that of a healer using items.
It feels like you only truly become a master once you've mastered Tornado Spin and Miracle Bomb.

Lily
The ability to take on various roles through job changes is a strength.
In my case, I mostly fought regular battles as a Witch and boss battles as a Cleric, and I hardly ever used other physical attacker classes.
However, I only realized how useful the dancer's area-of-effect buff skill was towards the end, so it might have been easier if I had used it earlier.
The final job, Chronos, would have been the strongest if it had area-of-effect healing magic, but if it did, it would have overshadowed the Cleric, so I felt that the balance was well-maintained.

Having Lily around eases the seriousness of the situation and reduces the tension.
I couldn't help but smile at the scene in the image above.

・ Cubes
The low MP is a drawback, but it performed well as a physical attacker.
I mainly used AP100% attacks from virtual miracles, operating it in a similar manner to Chacott.
He's too strong for just an ordinary cat, so either Kubes is special, or cats in this world have fighting power on par with leopards.

Luna
She served as the main healer for a long time.
During boss battles, Lily and I often took on the role of healer together.
Despite her aloof demeanor, she's actually quite sociable, so she's one of my favorite characters.

・Callagh
He excelled as a fast attacker.
Compared to the attackers in other chapters, its attack power is somewhat lower, but it has a good variety of area-of-effect attacks, so it wasn't bad.

I especially like the scene at the ruins where Lily bandages him and he's moved by her kindness.
Perhaps he saw in Lily the maternal love he himself had never had the opportunity to experience.
He tries to act cool and detached, but his true nature—being honest, romantic, and a good person—shows through.
He's probably the type of person who can't do anything bad even if he wanted to.

Eckhart
It's a somewhat unusual situation for an RPG, with a harem party where everyone except Eckhart is female (it reminded me of Final Fantasy V).
Being able to generate magic of various attributes depending on the situation proved to be very useful.
Since area-of-effect healing magic is useful, I often had her act as a healer in boss battles, and in regular battles, I had her use area-of-effect attack magic.

Minerva
Since he learns the magic that Eckhart can use somewhat later, I feel that it highlights Eckhart's exceptional talent.
Unlike Eckhart, the ability to use multiple elemental spells without needing to allocate mana is quite convenient.
Since I only learned offensive magic, I naturally became an attacker, and I never had to worry about my role.

Chacott
After concentrating, I used AP100% attacks, and I excelled as a physical attacker in boss battles.
In this game, the ability boosts last for a long time, so I feel they are very powerful when used effectively.

Carnelia
I was using him as a physical attacker who could heal and revive the entire party.
Since the bow has high attack power, I mainly used it as an attacker, and had it heal when Eckhart was busy.
Personally, I like the look of this character the most, if not the most, in this game.

・ Gendre
I never imagined we'd become allies.
He's a reliable player as a powerful attacker.
The non-elemental "Dragon Sword," which is effective against enemies that absorb elemental attacks, and "Life Sacrifice," which can be used with relatively low AP when in a pinch, were particularly strong.
It's cool when someone has a laid-back demeanor but is actually quite capable.
