On August 7, 2018, the first part of Chapter 2 of the game "Kimi ga Shine -Majority Rule Death Game-" which I previously wrote an article about, was released.
I had planned to play it all at once after everything was released, but I was curious about what would happen next, so I played it anyway.
I'll try to write this article without spoilers for those who haven't played the game yet.
The first part of Chapter 2 takes about 4 to 6 hours to complete.

Game content compared to Chapter 1
Compared to Chapter 1, there are more mini-games called "attractions."
For a certain reason, you have to try out games set up all over the venue, and there are many different kinds, making it quite interesting.
The gameplay mainly consists of simple actions, timing, and rapid button presses, and the difficulty will vary depending on whether you play on a smartphone or a PC with a mouse.
While some levels are challenging, the difficulty can be lowered by choosing the right partner character, making it possible for even those who aren't good at the game to complete them.
You can complete the attractions in any order you like, but completing them will trigger events and advance the plot.
I felt that the way exploration and adventure parts were cleverly interspersed between the mini-games made it difficult to get bored.
This time, the exploration area isn't very large, so you won't be required to move around as much as in Chapter 1.
Therefore, I didn't find the travel aspect particularly troublesome.
I thought it was great that the stage was compactly organized.
Key points
The most noteworthy point, just like in Chapter 1, is the incredible level of detail and craftsmanship, which is hard to believe comes from a free game.
The presentation has been further enhanced, and I think it's fantastic, with its abundant event CGs, system for increasing affection levels with characters, and detailed pixel art.
The frightening effects, combined with the retro feel of the pixel art, create a creepy and effective atmosphere.
Furthermore, the story itself is very captivating.
The way the mysteries from Chapter 1 are gradually revealed, while new mysteries keep popping up, gives it a similar feel to the "Danganronpa" series.
The mystery has a sense of depth and complexity, and I'm really looking forward to the release of the second part of Chapter 2.
How to enjoy playing the game
The story has many branching paths, and even the ending of the first part of Chapter 2 branches into two different patterns.
And those two patterns also branch off at a point where you can restart from the previous save.
However, it's up to the player to decide which route they feel is best.
It doesn't seem like there are any irreversible elements, so I think you can just proceed as you like for now.
Many suggestive options are presented, making you wonder each time whether you made the right choice.
For now, I chose my options by considering which one I would choose if this were reality.
It's rare to find a game that evokes such strong emotional engagement.
I think this is all because all the characters are great people.
summary
Although it's an incomplete part, "Chapter 2, Part 1," the volume and structure are good, so I think you'll be able to play it and be satisfied.
Since there are many different choices to make, it's also suitable for playing through a few times while waiting for the sequel to be released.
If you haven't played it yet, why not give it a try?
