Shigetsu Youka ~April 8th~ (Free, full-length horror novel) Review with spoilers, part 3 (at 52% to 100% completion, 37 hours of playtime)

死月妖花~四月八日~(フリー・長編ホラーノベル)ネタバレあり感想3(全体進行率52%~100%、プレイ時間37時間の時点) game
This post can be read in about 4 minutes.

This is the third article in my series of impressions on the free game "Shigetsu Youka ~April 8th~" that I've been playing since the other day.
This time, I completed the fourth scenario, "The Dead Moon Arc," and the fifth scenario, "The Last Voice Arc."
I'm going to write about my thoughts and observations.
This contains major spoilers, so if you plan to play the game, you'll definitely enjoy it more if you don't read this.

My thoughts on the Death Moon arc

The story unfolded in a different timeline than before, which made it a very fresh and enjoyable experience.
With new characters, a new setting, and new events, the scenario was quite substantial in terms of volume.

The beginning consisted of slice-of-life scenes, and the pace was so peaceful that it was almost boring.
However, the atmosphere starts to become eerie when unsettling documents like this image appear.
This chapter is arguably more of a "curse-killing" chapter than the "curse-killing" chapter, as the word "curse-killing" appears frequently throughout.
It's exactly like the curse of Oyashiro-sama from "Higurashi When They Cry."

Ultimately, the mystery seemed to be solved, but it wasn't, leaving me with an unsatisfying conclusion.
Therefore, I thought that many things would be revealed in the next "The Last Voice" episode, but my expectations were completely overturned.

My thoughts on the final voice chapter

Just when you think that Detective Gotou-chan is going to interrogate the person suspected of being the mastermind and everything will be revealed...

Damn it! It's not getting any clearer at all!
On the contrary, it seems as if there's still a real mastermind behind it all.
Despite this, the overall progress rate of the story has reached 100%, and it's about to end.
Just when I thought the players would have to figure things out for themselves, the shocking final scene is revealed.
At the same time, the true identity of Mika Tachiki was revealed, greatly expanding the world of the story.
If you looked closely at the title screen, you might have been able to deduce the true identity of Tachiki Mikka at the end of the Death Moon arc.

The "True Curse Killing Arc" suddenly appeared, adding a massive amount of new scenario content.
I thought my progress had reached 100%, but it actually dropped to 44.8%, revealing that I haven't even progressed halfway through the game yet.
The readme file said the playtime was 80 to 150 hours, but I didn't even finish it in 40 hours. Now I understand why.

I was pleasantly surprised to realize that the "overall progress rate" metric itself was a device designed to surprise players who thought the game was over.
It's like defeating Baramos, who I thought was the final boss of Dragon Quest 3, and then a huge hole opens up in Giaga.
I think the real resolution is about to begin, and I'm really excited to see how it all turns out.

About the unsolved mystery

The question raised about Mika Tachiki during the exchange after the "Last Voice" chapter (shown in the image above) seems to pretty much represent the feelings of the players.

The origins and other details of drugs like Droga have been gradually revealed through reports and references.
However, the truth behind what Tachiki was trying to hide—such as what exactly precognition is, the true nature of Sakura, and what the apocalyptic sound is—remains largely unknown.
I continue reading, hoping that this time, things will finally become clear.
I was so happy when I found out that the story would continue even though I thought it was over, that I've become quite engrossed in the world of this work.

I'm looking forward to reading about what kind of story Momoko Gotou will follow, given her situation similar to Celes's after the world collapses in FF6.
I can no longer include the overall progress rate in the title of the next article, so I'm currently thinking about what to do.
