I've played Dragon Quest 11 (3DS version) for about 15 hours now.
In terms of progress, we now have about seven party members, and we're at the point where we're getting the floodgates to the open sea opened.
So far, we haven't been wiped out, and we're progressing through the story smoothly.
I'm currently playing in 3D mode,The fact that encounters are triggered by touching enemy symbols means there's very little stress involved, which is a significant advantage.
You can mostly avoid combat, but if you want to earn money, you can engage in combat by constantly making contact with enemies.
Also, it's a great help that metal-type monsters are much harder to escape from now.
While this might lead to a lower difficulty level, you'll acquire moves that deal damage to metal-type monsters fairly early on, making leveling up quite efficient.
However, metal-type monsters don't appear as standalone symbols; they appear together with other monsters, so it wasn't possible to target them specifically.
Speaking of combat, something that just occurred to me was...Even if you use up a lot of MP, you can recover it at the campsite, so it feels like you can be quite extravagant.
Camus's Dual Cutter, in particular, is an ability that deals damage to all enemies twice, and if you acquire it early, it becomes a very significant source of damage in normal battles.
My impression so far is,
- The difficulty of the battles is relatively low (or rather, it becomes incredibly easy if you use some clever tactics).
The story progression is easy to understand. That's about it.
Also, my opinion may change in the future.
