This time, I'd like to write about my favorite songs by the music unit "angela".
I first heard angela's music when a friend showed me the anime "Stellvia of the Universe," and I heard its opening theme song.
In addition to the melody-driven style, I was largely captivated by the overwhelming vocal talent of vocalist atsuko.
Since then, every time angela has released a song, mainly anime songs, I've come to like them more and more because they're all such great songs.
In this post, I'll be focusing on my favorite songs and sharing my thoughts on them.

A brilliant road to tomorrow
This is the opening theme song for the anime "Stellvia of the Universe".
This song features dramatic changes in pitch, making it a very powerful and energetic piece.
If you try singing it yourself, you'll realize that there are very few opportunities to take a breath, which really highlights the incredible lung capacity of the vocalist.

Proof
This is an insert song from "Fafner in the Azure".
The fact that the show gets more interesting after this episode because the scriptwriter changes is another story.
This song begins with a quiet piano accompaniment and then transitions to a vocal style with great dynamics and intonation.
While it's hard to avoid being influenced by the imagery of the anime itself, this song conveys a sense of renewed determination.

Shangri-La
This is the opening theme for "Fafner in the Azure".
It's a very intense song, perfect for an opening theme.
This song could be considered angela's signature song, and it fully embodies their unique style.
The instrumental break is really cool.
This song features a melody with drastic changes in pitch, which clearly demonstrates Atsuko's impressive vocal abilities.
separation
This is the ending theme for "Fafner in the Azure".
This song has a memorable chorus melody that stays in your head forever.
It's a melancholic and emotional song.
The lyrics of the first verse are from the perspective of the survivors, and the lyrics of the second verse are from the perspective of the dying.
This is a song that makes you want to play it as a piano solo.

A laughingstock Fairy Tale
It's a sad song with a dark atmosphere.
The self-deprecating lyrics further contribute to the tragic atmosphere.
It's just one track on an album, so I don't think it's that well-known, but it's one of my absolute favorite songs.
solitude
Many of angela's songs are melody-driven, and this one also has a very cool melody.
YOU GET TO BURNING
A song from "Martian Successor Nadesico".
The opening theme was very memorable, and that's the only part that sticks in my mind.
I'm happy as long as I can sing the chorus at karaoke.
FORTUNES
A song from the theatrical version of "Fafner in the Azure".
From the very beginning, this song gives off a sense of expansiveness.
This is also one of my favorite songs.

ANGEL
The opening theme song for "Coppelion".
The fast tempo and lyrics with many syllables make it very pleasant to listen to.
The rhyming lyrics in the chorus are catchy and make you want to sing along.
Far away
The latter half, where he shouts with all his might, is very distinctive.
The impact it had on me when I first heard it was incredible.
Sidonia
This is the opening theme for "Knights of Sidonia".
The sudden shift to triplets in the A section is reminiscent of a military march and sounds incredibly cool.
Among angela's many songs that I like, this is one of my absolute favorites.
Exist
The opening theme for "Fafner in the Azure: Exodus".
It feels like a legitimate evolution of "Shangri-La."
It's a cool song that's perfect for an opening theme, and it seems like you could make all sorts of fan-made videos (MADs) out of it.
dark night passage
The ending theme for "Fafner in the Azure: Exodus".
The song is incredibly beautiful, especially when combined with the starry sky in the ending credits.
DEAD CERE ALIVE
This song is characterized by its tense and majestic chorus.
The chorus, which follows the main melody like a round, creates a pleasant and catchy rhythm.
When it plays during the show, it really gets the crowd going.
