Goliath's Adventure (Free SRPG) Introduction, Impressions, and Strategy Notes

ゴリアテの冒険(フリー・SRPG)紹介・感想・攻略メモ game
This post can be read in about 42 minutes.

This is an introductory article for "Goliath's Adventure," a game created using SRPG Studio.
This war story is characterized by its challenging difficulty, abundant map gimmicks, and numerous events that force you to make choices.
While the difficulty level is somewhat high, the game's appeal lies in its compelling war storyline and the interactions between its highly individualistic characters.

My completion time was approximately 12 hours (difficulty: Traditional).
However, I've had to reset and restart quite a few times, so it's actually taking a bit longer than this.

Game Overview

Goliath, a young man living in the village of Guigne, and his friend Sin fight off an attacking bandit.
During that time, Princess Beth of the Maze Kingdom, with whom he fought alongside, encouraged him to become a knight of the kingdom, and together they set off for the capital city.

There are three difficulty levels, with the standard difficulty being for intermediate players and designated as "Traditional."
However, you can't save freely; the system only allows you to save once at designated points on the map.
This aspect remains the same regardless of the difficulty level, so you can expect a tense and exciting gameplay experience at all levels.

Even the "Traditional" difficulty level offers a fair challenge, so those who aren't very confident in their SRPG skills should be cautious.

One of the game's features is that Beth can negotiate with many enemy units.
Even on maps that seem difficult at first glance due to the large number of enemies, you can turn the tide of battle in your favor by negotiating with suspicious enemies.

Negotiations often present multiple options, and some choices can put you at a disadvantage.
Since you can't save freely during a stage, every choice you make carries weight.
For players who feel compelled to try every option and choose the most advantageous one, this might be a bit challenging.

Even outside of combat, base events present many choices.
The items you obtain and the stats that increase will differ depending on your choice, so deciding which to pick can be quite a difficult decision.
You can try out base events using save and load, making it easy to choose your preferred option.
However, both options often have their pros and cons, so you may need to be decisive.

The class change system is somewhat unique.
Each character can become an advanced class by using a class change item once they reach level 15 or higher (some units have multiple class change options).

Even if you change classes, your level will remain the same, but each growth rate will decrease.
Therefore, theoretically, the strongest strategy is to raise your character to the maximum level of 30 before changing classes.
However, promoting units to advanced classes early on greatly improves their usability and makes the game easier to complete.
The timing of class changes is left to the player's discretion, making the decision of when to promote a character a difficult one.

Review (no spoilers)

Both the story and gameplay were very dense and I found it extremely enjoyable.

The story begins with an introduction about the protagonist Goliath's rise to power.
From the middle of the story onward, Beth, who could be considered the other main character, takes center stage, and the narrative takes on a stronger military chronicle feel.
As a war chronicle, it was very engaging to read, and I felt the pacing of the unfolding events was excellent.

I think the appeal of this game's scenario lies in its cast of captivating characters.
Goliath, a young man who is liked by everyone like a true protagonist, and a man with a broken personality.likeDespite her extreme words and actions, the contrast with the calm and sharp-witted Princess Beth is striking.
In my case, I simply found Beth's outrageousness entertaining, and I couldn't help but grin every time she spoke.

The number of allied units that appear is just right, and the relationships between the characters are richly depicted through events between each stage.
This work features many incredibly sharp and outrageous gags, but the text is so engaging that you can't help but keep reading, and there are plenty of moments that will make you laugh out loud.

I found the game to be quite challenging.
Saving during a stage is only possible at specific locations on the map, and the number of times you can save is limited.
I chose the Traditional difficulty setting, but I found it quite challenging.
However, even if an ally is defeated, you don't lose them permanently; there's just a penalty where their maximum HP is slightly reduced.
I think the key to enjoying the game is to accept some penalties and play with an open mind, not aiming for perfection on your first try.
The numerous choices made during the stage progression added weight to each decision, resulting in a tense and engaging gameplay experience.
Since there are post-completion elements, it's easy to feel motivated to try things you didn't choose the first time around.

During gameplay, it's not displayed who can talk to whom, so you'll need to use your imagination and figure things out.
However, there are conversations between allies that are impossible to infer, so for those who don't want to miss a single such element, this might be a point of concern.
On the other hand, if you happen to find one, you'll probably feel lucky.

With the release of the complete version, you can now play through two different routes.
I think this is a game that's fun to play through multiple times, so I highly recommend it to anyone who likes SRPGs.

Dragon Slayer Route Walkthrough Notes: Traditional Difficulty (Spoiler Warning)

General tips, etc.

How to use money
You'll likely be short on money in the early stages, but you'll have a fair amount of leeway towards the end.
There are many events where you can obtain weapons, so if you're buying from the shop, it's a good idea to focus on rare items.
Each unit's unique weapon is rare, so you'll probably want to conserve it.
However, as you progress through the game, you'll acquire new exclusive weapons, so feel free to use them whenever you're having trouble.

・About BP (Military Merit Points)
BP can be obtained during gameplay, or purchased for 3000G.
However, buying BP can be expensive, so it's probably best not to use it too much except towards the end of the game.
Also, since medals for each unit can often be obtained through base events, it might be a waste to buy them in a hurry.
Be careful.

- Timing of class change
Once you reach level 15, you can change classes using medals.
However, since this will lower the unit's growth rate, deciding when to class change them will be a tricky decision.
If a unit isn't very effective in battle when you obtain a medal, it's easier to progress through the game if you quickly class change them and put them into use.
Even if the growth rate slows down, anyone can become reasonably useful in the late game if they purchase powerful equipment.
If you start to feel that the enemies are stronger than you are during your playthrough, it might be time to change classes.

- About status effects
In this game, some status ailments do not heal naturally.
For example, if you suffer from a status effect that reduces your movement speed, you won't be able to recover until you clear that map unless you have a means of recovery.
Some stages can be quite challenging, so it's a good idea to have at least one healing wand on hand.

The author has written a walkthrough article, so I will provide a link to it.
Please be aware that some articles may contain spoilers.

Author's strategy blog

*The walkthrough notes for each stage are simply notes describing "these are the events that occurred when I played the game."
Please understand that this list does not include all events.
I'm sure there are many events that aren't listed here.

Chapter 1: Prequel - Coming-of-Age Ceremony

This is a tutorial stage.
Don't underestimate the Minotaur just because it's a tutorial; you could be killed by it. Be careful about when you use your potions during the fight.

Chapter 1: The Battle of Zuchi Village

Beth and Sebastian, for now, let's focus on protecting the village in the upper right.
After that, you negotiate with the deserter while providing cover to ensure he doesn't get killed.
Since it would be a waste for Sebastian to gain experience points, try to focus on fighting with Beth as much as possible.

Goliath should head towards Beth and the others, while Sin should head towards the village in the upper right.

Deserters from the kingdom will negotiate in Beth and become temporary allies if they show the ring.
If you survive until after the game is cleared, you will receive a gem.

Robin is moving towards Beth.
If you have Robin fight Beth, she will retreat after the event.
You will receive 500G after the battle ends.

If you visit the village in the upper right corner of Sin, you can obtain the Craftsman's Bow.
This is a high-performance bow with a +3 skill bonus and a high critical hit rate.

Chapter 2: The Guine Bandits' Hideout

An event will occur when you enter the enemy's attack range, and two archers will appear near the boss.
(One of them has a longbow with a range of 5 and will attack from inside the room.)
Furthermore, Goliath and Sin will become poisoned and move slightly, so be careful.

First, let's head to the prison to rescue the children.
Since she'll run away if you get too close to the petty thief Leila, I'll leave her alone for now.

Talk to Grace in Goliath and she'll join your party.
Operate the switch to open the prison door.
When you open the prison cell, Leila will start moving, so wait outside the range of your longbow's attack, and then defeat her together.
When the archers inside the room approach the wall, attack them with Grace or Shin.
Once you inflict a certain amount of damage, the two will retreat, making it easier to advance.

If you talk to the child in Goliath, you will obtain the key to the door, and enemy reinforcements will also appear.
Silent Gauche can be negotiated with in Beth, and if you choose to remain silent and contemplate, he will temporarily disable the enemy's magic.

If Beth has the key to the door, you can negotiate with the gatekeeper (who has an axe).
If you threaten to expose them to Omen, you will receive the Scissor Axe after the event.
If you're going to fight, I think the safest approach is to use Beth to increase your critical hit evasion rate and have Sebastian handle the enemy.

You can talk to the boss, Hamburg, in Goliath.
If you have a conversation, the conversation will be cleared.

Side Story: The Royal Capital of Rockfall

There are events at each point.
Let's go through them one by one.

The argument between Abiko and Fujimoto will increase your abilities depending on the choices you make.
Choose your preferred option.

At the shop selling the garments of life and the garments of evasion, you can only purchase one of them at a time.
Choosing the Garment of Life will increase Shin's HP by 3.
The Evasion Clothes skill permanently increases your evasion rate by +10%.

If you talk to the traveling merchant, you can choose whether or not to purchase the legendary sword for 1500G.
If you purchase it, you will receive a regular longsword.
Since it's overpriced, it might be wise to avoid purchasing it.

An event involving Grace will occur at the tavern.
After the event, you can obtain the skill, Axe of Grief.

You can shop at the weapons shop.
Sell your gems to get money, and use it to buy things like healing wands and weapons.
I think it's perfectly fine to buy as much as you can, intending to use it all up.

Chapter 3: The Dragon Orb of the Dragon Valley

Let's distribute the items purchased in the previous map to each unit.
Aaron, who is near the starting point, will join your party if you talk to him with Grace.

The enemy troops deployed are quite formidable, so it would be best to wait and see until the fighting with our allies calms down.

Dunning, who is defending the base, can be negotiated with by Beth.
After the negotiations, Dunning disappears, the door above opens, and a flying soldier appears in the upper left.
Be careful if you want to defeat the enemies on the other side before the door opens.

If you visit the village south of Dunning, you can hire an assassin to eliminate your enemies for 500 gold.
If you accept the request, you can eliminate several enemies on the cliff and obtain a black card.
The black card is necessary to progress through this assassin event, so be sure to request it.

Visiting the village in the upper left corner will reward you with a Dragon's Tear, which increases your movement speed by +1.
However, immediately afterward, the flying units begin their movement, putting the visiting unit in danger.
If you negotiate with Dunning, his longbowmen will be deployed afterward, and they will retreat, leaving only some flying troops behind.
Even if you obtain the Dragon Orb first, the flying units will still take action, but the pattern of obtaining the Dragon Orb is safer because you are further away.
Either way, some fighting is unavoidable, so let's deploy Ricotta and Shin.

Side Story: The House of the Dead

Most of the enemies in this chapter are easier to fight compared to those in previous chapters.
You don't want to let the EXP Turtle get away, but it will be difficult to defeat it without a certain degree of desperate pursuit.
It will be necessary to use powerful units like Sebastian to pursue them.

On turn 7, skeleton reinforcements will appear from both sides of the boss.

Chapter 4: Undercover Drug Investigation

Since a large number of enemies are attacking, let's not attack too much at first and focus on defending ourselves.
The mage with fire magic in the bottom left won't move unless you get close, so stay out of his attack range until the enemies from the right calm down.

You can negotiate with the ballista soldier on the left using Beth.
If you choose to have the sorcerer killed, after defeating Judah, they will give you the key to the door and disappear.
If you let him go unconditionally, he will disappear after giving you the key to the door, and your military merit will increase by +1.
If you only get the key to the door, that's the end of it, so that might be the worst option.

You can't defeat Garen the Speedster, but he will run away if you reduce his HP to 1.
You can capture him by visiting the village on the left, so visit it after he escapes.

The boss, Duncan, is a heavy armor type.
You can easily defeat them by using Grace's Hammer or Goliath's Claymore.
If you examine the skeleton to the right of the boss, you can obtain a rusty spear.

Chapter 5: The Worst Siege in History

This map has a lot of ups and downs in difficulty.
Make good use of the guest units that are tailored to each enemy to fight them off.

For a while, flying units will be coming from the north every turn.
Utilize the guest Rangers, Shin, and Ricotta to intercept the enemy.
Defeating Pantheon will stop the reinforcements, but you don't necessarily need to go that far.
Enemy cavalry are coming from the east.
Use a Guardian to tank the lance-equipped cavalry with Horse Killer, and then use a cavalry unit to tank the final one with Armor Killer.
Enid, Josette, and the other members of your army should focus on clearing out any remaining enemies that slipped through to the north and east.
The guest units are fairly capable, so deploy them at your base and make sure to give them proper healing.

If you can survive for a few turns, the enemy ballistas will retreat.
Once the airborne reinforcements from the north have stopped, let's advance eastward.
Once you cross the bridge, four soldiers without food will appear from the fort, and more reinforcements will continue to appear for a while afterward, so be careful.
The sniper with the double-barreled bow involved in Virgil's quest can be safely lured out with a guest unit.
Afterwards, when Josette and Enid cross the bridge, a conversation event will occur, and you will obtain the Heavy Spear, so be sure not to miss it.

After Valentine reappears, he'll wander off, but unless something unusual happens, you should be able to catch up, so don't push your luck and just pursue him.

The archer with the conduit bow in the upper right can be negotiated with in Beth.
I confirmed that requesting food will get you a health potion, and requesting a weapon will get you a conduit bow.

You can obtain a defensive potion in the easternmost village.
Buy anything you need at a nearby shop.

If you manage to keep all members of the 4th Division alive and complete the mission, you will receive a Healing Necklace (automatic recovery skill).

Side Story: Duel! Manchego

If you visit the village near the starting point, you can pay 1000G to temporarily add Fang to your party.
The equipment that allows for multiple attacks is appealing, so hiring them would be a great help in terms of combat strength.
For Fang, it's easier to fight if you first eliminate the longbowman on the right of the starting point.

Let's advance while intercepting the enemies coming towards us.
Sierra's enemy cavalry is difficult to counter, so try to gauge the distance and fight accordingly.
There are enemies with horse-killing axes among the enemy forces, so be careful if you've deployed Sebastian.
Sierra is a formidable opponent, so ideally, we'd like to defeat her quickly with Fang or Josette's halberds.

Pulling the lever inside the door to the right of the shop will close the door behind where the heavily armed soldiers are positioned, allowing you to avoid combat.
At the same time, you can block the fleeing EXP Turtles, so make use of this if you have the chance.
We want to take down the captain who's carrying the jewel, so let's defeat him with indirect attacks from inside the door.

The boss, Manchego, can be defeated by talking to him through Grace, which triggers an event.
After the event, the skill Axe of Grief (permanent +15% critical hit chance) will change to Axe of Hope (permanent +15% critical hit chance, +10% accuracy and evasion chance).

Chapter 6: A Fictional Paradise

If you visit the village just north of the starting point, they will repair the bridge for 500G.
This is a shortcut if you don't want to deal with Morgan or Freeman.

Morgan can be negotiated with Beth, and if you give him 2000G, Emmental will retreat, and Freeman and Morgan will become playable characters in your army.
After that, if you talk to Freeman in Grace, you will receive the Demon God's Spear (which allows you to attack three times).
If you give 1000G, the entire Emmental army will retreat.
Incidentally, if you defeat Morgan, Freeman will equip the Fierce Deity Spear (it drops when you defeat him).
Since there's a chance that Freeman will officially join your party later, it's probably best not to defeat him.
It's unclear whether paying 2000G is mandatory, but it's safer to pay it.

If you explore the cave, you can obtain sturdy feathers.

If you make Robin and Beth fight, Robin will retreat and you will get 1000G.

You can add either Shubibi or Ma Bo to your control unit by negotiating with Beth.
If you choose "both are uncool," the two will leave, and you will obtain the Book of Absolute Defense.

You can complete the request by visiting the village in the upper left with Ricotta.
Ricotta needs to be deployed to visit the location for an event where she can learn dance skills, so don't forget to send her out.

Side Story: Requiem for Soldiers

This is the stage where Josette and Ricotta will be deployed.
When you visit a village, the citizens who appear will move away towards the upper left, so it might be slightly more efficient to visit the villages that are farther away first.

Let's leave the Third Division, which is defending the base in the lower right, alone and have them buy us some time.
Even when providing support, limit it to healing from a distance using Reave.

To prepare for the bridge on the map to be repaired, gather the named Third Division units north and build a wall.
Use Simon to shoot down any incoming enemy aircraft.

If you retreat to the designated escape point as the enemy approaches, I think you can clear the mission without engaging in a full-scale battle.

Although it's a fairly standard story, it was an episode that brought tears to my eyes.
The music played on stage has a somewhat melancholic feel to it, and I really like it as background music.

Chapter 7: The Great River Retreat

First, the battle will be to withstand enemy attacks until the wounded soldiers can reach their base.
Flying troops will approach the area around Thomason, but the nearby guest troops are strong, so you don't need to commit too many forces to them.

The soldiers fighting on the bridge are the ones who take the most damage, so make sure to provide support from the rear and avoid being defeated.
If your guest soldiers are defeated, use your own units to fill the gap and continue fighting.

EXP Turtle can be safely defeated by attacking it with Josette as it moves north, and then using her extra action to retreat.
Let's wait for the right timing.
Incidentally, if you defeat the medic standing next to McCarran, McCarran will become enraged and start attacking you.
Be careful.

Once the wounded soldiers have left, we will have Sebastian and Thomason talk at our discretion.
If you let them talk, the other guest soldiers will retreat, so let's intercept the Mage Knights' charge and wait until things calm down before letting them talk.
Either way, I think the guest soldiers will be wiped out in one go by the Mage Knight's attack.
Before Thomason and Sebastian start talking, let's begin retreating our troops on the bridge towards the exit point.

You will have to control Thomason yourself to make him retreat. Once you pass the west side of the bridge, if you have Ricott provide backup, you can escape with almost no combat with the pursuing forces.
However, since Ricott will be in danger at the moment you cheer him on, let's use Goliath or Grace to act as a shield.

Also, before you have time to retreat Thomason, have Josette visit the village in the lower right.
You can obtain Repair Orbs, which can be used to repair items.
If Josette has acquired the skill that negates special attacks, she can defeat the ballista on her own.
If you haven't acquired it yet, it would be safer to negotiate with Beth to have a sniper eliminate the ballista.

Chapter 8: The Invasion of the Molt Territory

If you talk to the girl playing hide-and-seek with Beth, you can stop the ballista squad's attack.
However, be careful, because once you defeat the captain, they will start attacking you without hesitation.
Also, be aware that they will continue to attack even after 20 turns have passed.

If you examine the yellow flower in the upper right corner, you can obtain a magic defense potion.

Once you get close enough to the enemy guarding the castle gate, a large number of enemy cavalry will appear near your starting point.
Although his mobility is low, engaging him in direct combat would be difficult, so let's try to defeat Powell in one go.

Visiting the village on the left will give you the Emmental Amulet (needed for Freeman to officially join your party).

The rare metal obtained by defeating thieves can be combined with sturdy feathers to create items.
(Either Feather Ornament: Speed growth rate +10%, Feather Axe: Double attack + Speed growth rate +10%, or Feather Estoc: Double attack + Speed growth rate +10%)

There is a branching path after clearing the stage.
The top option, "Eliminate the father and daughter," leads to the route of defeating the evil dragon, while the bottom option, "I can't do that!", leads to the kingdom recapture route, which is recommended for subsequent playthroughs.

Chapter 9: Unjustified Invasion

When you visit the southern village, the warrior Dols will join your party.
He'll be a valuable asset in intercepting pursuers, so let's definitely add him to our team.
You can get a full potion by talking to Ricotta.
Additionally, you'll receive the Tyrant Axe upon clearing the stage (survival may be a requirement).
First, let's focus on using Ricotta's dance to take down the observer with Miguel.
If you can escape to the lower left without engaging the pursuers, you should be able to rendezvous with your main army's reinforcements.
Your arriving forces will consist only of Beth and cavalry.

Once we've reunited with the main force, let's engage the pursuers head-on.
Then, use the narrow road near the village where you recruited Dorus to intercept him.

You can negotiate with Meghan at Beth.
Using fire magic will remove the boss's magic armor, and using ice magic will eliminate enemies around the boss.

The boss, Palmer, will use the Sleep Staff.
If you fall asleep, use the Cure Staff, which you can obtain in the village on the left, to heal yourself.
However, be careful, as if Beth falls asleep, she will not be able to recover.
Palmer himself is a formidable opponent, so don't hesitate to use powerful weapons to defeat him.
Also, only Miguel can capture the base.
Please note that this is not Beth.

If you visit the village in the upper right, the unit that visits will take damage, and then you will receive a large gem.
Visit with a unit that has sufficient stamina.

You can obtain the Demon World Orb by visiting the ruins in the lower right (labeled as the Arena in the terrain display).
At the same time, a demon will appear nearby.
Defeating them will grant you +1 in military merit, but if you're not confident, you can capture their base after they appear and clear the stage that way.

If you wait by the flower in the upper left, you can pick medicinal herbs.
In the case of brown grass (poison), 3 military merit points were obtained.

Chapter 10: The Melancholy of the Three Counts

Reinforcements will appear from the base near the boss every turn.
You won't gain any experience points by defeating this enemy, so the key to this stage is to quickly liberate the territory with the troops on the left.
The continuously appearing reinforcements are quite formidable opponents with high speed and accuracy, so you might have a hard time surviving them.

The left-hand unit should eliminate the ballistas while Beth visits the village.
Each time you unlock an area, one fewer reinforcement will appear near the boss.
Additionally, each time you liberate an enemy, three cavalrymen wielding lances will appear.
It's quite difficult to reinforce the troops on the right, so it's a bit easier if you have Josette, equipped with a halberd, wait on the other side of the river to whittle them down.
Also, if you have Josette waiting on the river, the surrounding enemies will rush in, buying you time, so actively provide support when the troops on the right are in trouble.
Since there are no enemies that can perform indirect attacks, you will only take damage once as long as you don't defeat any adjacent enemies.

When Beth and Robin are next to each other, Robin retreats and drops 2000G.

If you visit the village to the right of the first territory, you will find the bridge keeper.
After liberating the second territory, I visited again and they repaired the bridge leading to the final territory (they wouldn't repair it until I had liberated two).
Immediately afterward, enemy reinforcements, led by Ozma, appear near the third territory.
If you negotiate with Ozma in Beth, he will not only retreat but also give you the Hero's Sword.
(If you fight Ozma and his group, negotiation will likely become impossible.)

Side Story: Night Attack

Initially, Goliath and Sin will be the ones to confront the Assassin, but the other members will arrive soon, so you don't need to worry too much.

If Freeman is still alive in Chapter 6, he will appear near Grace and come to her aid.
(What happens if you defeat them is untested.)
Freeman is strong, but once you survive the first wave, a second wave will appear, so open the north gate and intercept them in the narrow passage.

When Zenon, the 100-man killer, and Freeman have a conversation, an event occurs and you can defeat Zenon (you also obtain a wanted poster).
Also, if you have the Emmental Amulet, give it to Beth and have her talk to Freeman.
Freeman will officially join the team.

The assassins will continuously appear from the upper left.
Units capable of indirect attacks can safely chip away at enemy units by attacking from indoors through walls.
Let's split up and proceed: one group will intercept the assassins, and the other will go and defeat the boss.

If you have Aaron talk to Xander, who is in prison, you can receive the Duke's Ring.

Chapter 11 Minister Elan d'Or

Beth will take some damage at the start, but an event will occur that will allow her to move again.
Keeping some healing items in your inventory might be somewhat convenient.

If you talk to Cavallo in Grace, he will temporarily join your party.
If Aaron is not deployed as a lock-picking specialist, Cavallo can take on the role.

The blood-soaked Bandar in the prison area will fight alongside you for a while after you rescue him, but he will become an enemy once Beth escapes from the prison area.
Since you'll end up defeating them either way, I think you can choose whichever option you prefer.
Additionally, you can obtain a torture license by examining the torturer's corpse.

Entering the small room near your starting position, which contains a treasure chest and a base, will trigger the appearance of three reinforcements.
Prepare to respond immediately and then infiltrate the system.

An event will occur after you have been cautious for a certain number of turns since the appearance of the Magic Giant.
After the event, the King's Sword disappears, the giant soldier and Robin are gone, and you obtain the holy sword Excalibur, which can stand against Elandor.
Let's keep our distance until the event occurs.
After the event, the door will be able to be opened with Goliath, so I'll be ready.
At the same time, reinforcements will appear from the prison area below the stage, so be careful.
The door to the throne will open automatically.

Chapter 12: The Valley of Death

The walkthrough will involve Goliath, Shin, Beth, and Grace.
If you've successfully progressed through Fang's event, Fang will also be deployed.
There aren't any particularly strong enemies, so Goliath equipped with Excalibur should be able to fight them easily.

If you negotiate with a high-ranking devil in Beth, you can get either money or a Sleep Staff.
This is the stage where Beth will truly shine.

You can obtain the Zweihander by talking to Beth in Goliath.

The door leading to the mansion can be opened by investigating the nearby cave.
The boss wields a Master Spear, so fighting him using Grace's ranged attacks should make the battle easier.

When you examine all the skeletons with Fang, Crow and enemy demons will appear in the cave in the upper left.
Talking to Crow in Fang will complete the event.
To prevent Crow from being defeated by the demon, make sure to position allies nearby beforehand.
After clearing the game, Fang will officially join your party.

Chapter 13: Sodom and Gomorrah

The immediate goal is for Beth to visit Ophelia's mansion in the south.
There are many enemies, but as long as you observe each one carefully and respond accordingly, you'll be fine.

First, Beth should go around the mountain south of the starting point from the east side and head towards the town to the south.
There are several enemies, so Josette and a few others will provide cover.

The Lancer squad near the bridge above isn't much of a threat.
However, reinforcements will continuously appear from the base, so go with members who can contain them.
Since they are within the ballista's range, you can send units that can take them down with long-range attacks.

The bridge in the middle will be the main battleground in the early stages of the game.
You'll be engaging in combat with cavalry and infantry, so use NPCs as shields while you fight.

Additionally, flying units will continuously fly towards our base.
You can eliminate one enemy with the NPC ballista, but to deal with the remaining enemies, it's easy to deploy a unit that can use wind magic or a Shin.

Ophelia will lend a hand if Beth visits the southern mansion (the command to visit will not appear unless you have a gift).
The enemy ballistas have retreated, and the northern bridge has been repaired, as they prepare for a full-scale attack.
For now, let's gather our forces to defend the bridge to the north.

Ophelia is strong herself, but her skill that boosts the attack and defense of the entire army is powerful, making things much easier.
Afterward, by negotiating with Zephyr, who is on the bridge below, at Beth, Rembrandt's troops also retreat.
Reinforcements will continue to appear from some bases, so load your units onto them and block them off.

Once Zephyr and Rembrandt retreat, an astrologer will appear in the house in the lower right.
If you have the "Book of Purgatory" (Orb of the Demon World + Torture Permit) in your hand and talk to them, you will receive the "Book of Maintenance".
Maintenance manuals sell for a high price of 50,000G, so if you're unsure who to use them on, you might consider selling them.

The quest is completed by talking to Gomorrah in Ophelia.

Chapter 14: The Day It Disappeared from the Map

First, when Shin visits the house in the north, Shin and Beth will be able to talk to each other.
After that, Goliath and David will be able to converse, and by having them talk, you will be able to get closer to the boss.
Everyone except those heading to Shin's house should continue visiting the villages inside the walls.

Reinforcements keep appearing in the village, which is troublesome.
Let's proceed while keeping the spawn points in mind.
Also, enemies that attack from a distance are troublesome, so let's prioritize eliminating them.
The enemy wielding the Sleep Staff near Ganymede is difficult to defeat until Sin arrives, so if you confuse him with the Frenzied Staff, he will attack enemy units from a distance, making the fight much easier.

Investigating the cave in the upper left will trigger an event where you destroy a sinister orb.
Destroying it will remove the skill "Demonic Power" of the Great Demon Gaspar in the lower left.
(The effect of this skill is unknown as it has not been verified.)
The great demon Gaspar is a formidable opponent, so it's wise to defeat him with David.
The boss, Ganymede, is a formidable opponent, so let's defeat him with David.

Side Story: Expedition Preparations

Before tackling a challenge, there's a time when you'll need to do some shopping to prepare for the expedition.
There are various shops, including Andras's shop.
Let's get rid of any unnecessary weapons and stock up on good ones.

After defeating the monsters, you can receive money a total of three times by visiting the village chief's house.
Let's keep visiting them persistently.

If Shin previously purchased the Evasion Clothes skill in the royal capital, he can have it enhanced by the incredibly skilled tailoring old lady.
Let's make sure to visit.

Chapter 15: The Decisive Battle! The Mummy Cult

To recruit the southern forces, talk to Rivet in Grace and he'll join your party.

Once you cross the first bridge on Grace's side, Jerome's unit will be positioned and will begin to approach you.
If you accept the request, you can talk to Jerome in Shin and recruit him as a companion.
He's a formidable opponent, so let's definitely try to persuade him.
Once you've recruited Jerome, continue your attack until you defeat Ganymede.

On the Goliath side, reinforcements will appear from their base once you cross the first bridge.
If you don't deal with them to some extent as soon as they appear, the invading units will be in danger.
It's best to eliminate the Fenrir-wielding enemy at the bottom of the cliff using units like Josette, then deploy your allied units properly before entering.

Defeating Ganymede will open the gate and the path to Prometheus.
Once you capture the base in Sin, you will obtain the Staff of Dragon Frenzy, and the southern cliff will become passable.
Now that we can combine the two units, let's send Jerome ahead and hurry up to persuade Levanna.
If you fill up Shin's inventory, you can send the Dragonkin Frenzy Staff to your stock, making the transfer to Beth smoother.
By the way, be careful, because if you misjudge the timing of capturing Shin's base, you risk being defeated by Levanna's Sunflame.
If you can separate Levanna from the other enemies using a decoy or something similar, it will be easier to persuade her.
If you talk to Levanna at Jerome's place, the two of them will leave for a while.

Finally, use the Dragonkin Berserker Staff on the Dark Dragon with Beth to clear the stage.

Chapter 16: The Final Holy War

*If you feed the Hint Duck bird food at the base before the main objective, you will receive three "Hint Duck's Elixir II," a potion that makes you immortal for one turn.
It might come in handy when you really need it.

As expected of the final map, it's quite difficult.
I'd like to take things slowly, but there's a 40-turn limit, and reinforcements start appearing from the stairs after the boss around the 7th turn, so if I'm too leisurely, the situation will only get worse.

While splitting the troops to cover the right and left sides respectively, Beth should independently speak to the engineers in each area.
Negotiating with the engineer just above the starting point will close the front gate, preventing the cavalry near Macallan from directly advancing south, and will also eliminate some enemies, such as those carrying Sleeping Staffs.
It's a good idea to negotiate on the first turn.

Negotiating with the engineer in the left area will reduce the strength of all enemies by 5, and negotiating with the engineer in the right area will reduce the magic power of all enemies by 10.
Beth should focus on talking to the engineer while casting All-Range Heal at the end of her turn.
If you buy a key for the door and keep it in your stock, you can open the door yourself.

After defeating the bosses in each of the three locations, specific allied units will leave the party at different points in time.
If we try to capture one location at a time with our entire army, our forces will dwindle while the enemy's reinforcements keep increasing, making it a very difficult situation.
It's easier to complete the stage if you try to defeat the right and left bosses at roughly the same time.

After defeating Valentine, Ricott Josette Enid will leave your party.
After defeating Glenn, Vergil, Sebastian, and Elbert will leave the party.
(After defeating Glenn, if you choose to allow Ophelia to leave, you will receive the General's Shield.)
After defeating McCallan, Aaron Freeman Fang will leave the party.

The tricky part is that after defeating each boss, you have to step on a switch at the boss's feet.
Stepping on the switch will stop the reinforcements in that area and open a row of doors in the center.
If the unit that defeated the boss is also the unit that is about to leave the battlefield, you will need to use another unit to go and defeat the boss, so be careful.

David has unlimited weapon uses and takes half damage from monsters, making him useful for reducing the number of enemy reinforcements when they become too numerous.
David won't be leaving, so let's make full use of him until the very end.

Final Chapter: Warrior Goliath

You can't defeat the evil dragon by fighting it in the usual way.
Even if you defeat it, it will revive.
Let's test not only Goliath's strength, but also Beth's eloquence.

Post-clearance replay elements

After clearing the game, you can use your clear points to challenge it again with powerful weapons.
After selecting "Start from the beginning," you'll be able to shop, so don't forget to save after you're finished shopping.
If you start playing again from the beginning without saving, your clear points will be consumed, and you will have to clear the game again.
If you're just looking to browse the selection, you'll be fine as long as you don't buy anything that requires you to use your points.

Please note that this information is not carried over to individual save files, but rather recorded in the system data itself.
Even if you load the final chapter data again and clear it, you won't earn any points.

You'll be able to challenge the highest difficulty level, "Unknown," so those who are confident in their skills should give it a try.
Even when clearing the game on "Unknown" difficulty, the number of clear points awarded remained unchanged at 1 point.

Unit usage impressions and the route to defeat the evil dragon (spoiler alert)

*This is based solely on my personal experience and progress during gameplay.
I think opinions will differ depending on how you raise them and how their parameters increase.

This is the point at which the route to defeat the evil dragon is completed.
These are screenshots from before the full version was released, so the images are outdated.

Goliath

He's a reliable protagonist with high combat abilities.
I acquired some powerful greatsword skills, which made me quite strong, but in the later stages, my speed and skill development were lackluster, making it difficult to follow up attacks and resulting in poor accuracy.
Even so, she is a valuable asset in battle thanks to her powerful weapons, but she gives the impression of being inferior in terms of the ability to guarantee a kill compared to the more developed Grace, Josette, and Ricott.
I have some concerns about its durability, and as a main character, it ended up feeling a bit underwhelming to use.

Shin

Having access to powerful bows, including longbows, made him a reliable asset in the early stages of the game.
However, from the middle of the game onward, the growth of combat-related stats slowed down, and I was unable to perform follow-up attacks or deal any damage.
Since there was no other option, I changed his class early, and he managed to grow to a usable level.
While it boasts unparalleled strength against flying units when using powerful weapons, it was a unit that couldn't shake off the image of being weak against other types of enemies.
In terms of its long range, it was able to play a very important strategic role.

Beth

This unit is important both in terms of the storyline and for clearing stages.
In the early stages of the game, I equipped him with magic swords like the Ice Sword, and he proved invaluable as both an attacker and a healer.
From the mid-game onward, I primarily used her in a healing role.
I think much of the appeal of this work comes from her words and actions.
She's one of my favorite characters.

Sebastian

This was a helpful unit that I relied on quite a lot in the early stages of the game.
In the latter half of the season, she was often left out of the sortie lineup, and her appearances decreased.
When deployed, it can play a crucial role by boosting the defense of adjacent units with its skill.
The Royal Banner skill, learned at level 20, significantly increases the accuracy and evasion of all allied units, but it will likely be difficult to level up to that point.

Grace

He was an extremely reliable ace attacker in battle.
Originally, their skills give them a high critical hit rate, and there are many weapons that further increase that rate, allowing them to unleash high firepower.
This unit is reliable in a variety of situations because it's strong no matter what weapon you give it.
Since its defensive capabilities aren't particularly high, you'll want to use it carefully to avoid being overwhelmed and losing.

Ricotta

While his magical power is very high, his technique and speed lag behind, which made me feel a little uneasy against enemies whose weaknesses I couldn't exploit.
However, its exclusive weapons, such as Double Wind and Regal Blade, are powerful, making it unparalleled against enemy flying units and heavily armored units.
Since learning the dance moves, we've become a strategically important unit, and we're incredibly busy with more things we can do.

- Virgil

Although it had high defensive capabilities, it often ended up being defeated when its bodyguard ability was unintentionally activated.
However, by thoroughly boosting their defensive capabilities with armor and accessories, they can now serve as a tank for fragile units.
In the later stages of the game, he was effective using a tank-like tactic where he surrounded the enemy on all four sides with Ricotta, Enid, Sin, and Elbert, and then used Vergil to counterattack and whittle them down.

Aaron

Since Beth is busy negotiating, healing, and attacking, this unit is very helpful as it can handle the healing.
This unit can become a High Assassin through events, allowing it to act as an attacker in case of emergency.
(The curse that causes damage every turn can be removed in an event that occurs after Freeman joins the party.)
However, from the middle of the game onward, you'll find yourself lacking the necessary strength, so you'll have to focus on using the staff.
Since her magic power is low for a healer, you'll want to give her a staff that can provide sufficient healing.

Josette

Feather Pyramid is an extremely powerful unit that you tend to rely on.
Since it involves a lot of attacks, it was useful when I wanted to defeat the enemy somehow.
Instead of earning medals at events, I acquired a skill that negates special attacks, so I no longer need to fear bows.
In the final stages, I used a combination of Raging Pyramid and Triple Attack, dealing significant damage with critical hits.
It was reassuring to know that even against opponents with high defense, the special attack could deal significant damage.

Elbert

While its combat power isn't particularly high, it's an interesting unit that can fight better than its stats suggest thanks to its luck stat.
Since calculations were difficult when their luck wasn't high, I used to equip them with powerful weapons.
After changing its class to Night Trooper, its extremely high movement speed made it quite useful.
If you raise a unit in a way that maximizes its luck, it might become an unstoppable force.

Enid

Being a mounted unit capable of using magic, and with its powerful signature weapon, Lightning, it was a very easy-to-use unit.
While his stats aren't particularly high, his "Great Commander" skill is subtly important, and he leaves a strong impression as a reliable unit.
Because Ricotta has so many tasks to do, I was able to focus on magic attacks, which made her easy to use.

・Freeman

When it first appeared, it was a very powerful unit, giving the impression of being a slightly stronger version of Elbert.
While gaining experience points is somewhat difficult, their growth isn't poor, and they give the impression of being either an ace or a near-ace.
Although he was somewhat vulnerable to damage, he was equipped with powerful weapons and was able to play an active role on the front lines.
The increased movement speed during events is a surprisingly significant bonus.

Fang

The Bazelard, with its defense-ignoring attack, is an extremely powerful unit.
Since its movement speed has increased once, it might be possible to significantly increase its movement speed if it's carefully considered.
However, be careful, as the "Scent of Death" skill will lower the abilities of surrounding allies if not used alone.
It's a good idea to give them items that automatically heal themselves.

Ophelia

As a support unit, she was a reliable presence, equipped with a powerful, exclusive weapon.
It's good that they're not weak to archers despite being flying units, but their low movement speed is a slight drawback.
However, the skills of legendary generals have a significant impact, and their ability to deliver extremely high attack power makes them very reliable.

Kingdom Reclamation Route Walkthrough Notes (Spoiler Warning)

This is a walkthrough memo for the route you take if you choose "I can't do that!" in the choices after clearing Chapter 8.

Chapter 9: A New Journey

The game starts with only Goliath and Enid as members.
Along the way, Elbert will appear from a house in the east of the map, so make sure to have him join the other three.
There aren't many enemies to be wary of, but if Elbert isn't leveled up enough, try to avoid engaging in combat too much.

Chapter 10 The Church of Violence

The game begins with Shin and Grace on the front lines.
Let's slowly retreat while remaining a barrier for the children.

Goliath and his men should first deal with the cavalry coming from the south, defeat the boss, and stop the reinforcements.
Once you defeat the boss, reinforcements will appear from around the enemy base and begin to move towards you.

You can obtain the 4-shot bow by talking to Sin.
When Theresia talks to Carol, she will receive three Molotov cocktails.

If you have Eddie from "Elegy of Enemy Reinforcements" wait next to Theresia, a conversation will not occur and he will disappear.
You'll get a wanted poster, so be careful not to defeat them.

An event involving Aaron and Ken will occur in the eastern part of the map, but there's nothing particularly noteworthy about it, so just complete it.

Chapter 11: Northtown, the City of Demons

Let's split up: one group will go to press the switch on the west side of the prison, and the other will go around to the east side.
Both areas have enemies that lower your stats from a distance, so we'll eliminate them with Shin's longbow.
The Shield of Fortification that the Demon Rabbit possesses is something you'll want to steal with Theresia.
Since it keeps running away, if you have Blizzard (or Ice Blade if you don't have Blizzard), you can have Enid attack it to slow down its movement and make it easier to chase.
If you don't mind the fleeing demon rabbit, you don't need to split up your troops; everyone can take down one side at a time.

Lahmu are tough opponents because they have high attack power and will attack first when their HP is low.
If you don't want to fight, you can visit a house and operate the floodgate for 2000G.
If you have the opportunity, it would be a good idea to steal a defensive potion.
Since Ricotta and Josette, whom we rescued, don't have any weapons, let's retrieve their personal belongings from the treasure chest and then pull them out of our inventory.

You can find gems by examining the bones inside the prison cell.
You can obtain the Tyrant Axe by exploring the cave.
If you examine the yellow flower below the boss's base, you can obtain a health potion.

Chapter 12: Overlord Elisabeth

This map is filled with traps, so you'll be moving around a lot.
This map will likely take more time to complete than its apparent size suggests.

If you take the contents of the treasure chest in the room in the upper right of your starting position, you will be surrounded by walls and unable to move.
However, moving the first lever will release the restriction and open the path to the north.
Reinforcements will keep coming out from these two staircases, so it would be a good idea to have someone block them off.

There's a trap placed in one of the squares around the bone that will inflict 10 damage, so make sure your troops have plenty of health before advancing.
After defeating Orobas, you'll reach the lever, but be careful, as moving it will summon reinforcements.

You can recruit Fang as a party member by talking to him in Goliath.
Let's bring Goliath to the forefront in our conversation.
The boss, Zagan, will incapacitate you with Cursed Thorn.
Attack from a distance, or if you know the Gospel, use Goliath; otherwise, prepare the Staff of Cure and fight.

Next, you will fight three magical giants.
Bit B, located at the bottom, is the main body, so be careful as its HP won't drop below 1 even if you try to defeat the other enemies (a tribute to Lavos Core from Chrono Trigger?).

Next, four imposters will appear.
The kobold venom archers that appear in the central room at that time are troublesome because they have a long range and are very tough.
To prevent the enemy from activating their absolute defense skill, it's best to have Grace, who has the evasion skill, or Goliath or Theresia, who have the defense-ignoring skill, attack.

Sebastian's troops can fight more easily if they stay a little further back and engage in battle in the winding corridors.
Make effective use of attacks from behind walls in battle.

Beth will revive even if you defeat her once.
Let's engage in combat while keeping in mind that we might have to defeat them twice.

Chapter 13: Feces and Urine Rain Down

This is a map where you must defend for 15 turns.
There are many enemies, but there are also many allied forces, so I think we can manage.

Visit the village just above your starting point, pay some money, and strengthen or increase the number of your allies.
Also, if you visit the village on the left with the Emmental Amulet, the Freemen will help you.
Let's make sure to visit.

On the third turn, a hole appears in the castle wall near our base, and several enemies try to infiltrate.
Let's take action to address this.
The wall on the other side will also be destroyed in a few turns, so make sure someone is ready to deal with it.

Although there are many enemies, I think it won't be too difficult if we don't attack directly and instead utilize the terrain advantages of our base.
If you're aiming to defeat the boss, make sure to secure the forts where reinforcements appear, and proceed while being careful of enemies wielding Sleep Staffs and Frenzy Staffs.

Chapter 14: The Kingdom Liberation Front

There will be an increasing number of stages that will be quite long.
Since mistakes will require more time to redo, try to advance cautiously.

First, let's divide our forces into two groups: one to capture the two forts to the west of our starting position, and the other to head south to rescue Alan.
The western side is heavily attacked by enemy ballistae and air units, so you should proceed with a fairly tough team.
If Virgil is well-developed, it's a good idea to make effective use of adjacent guards.
Once you've captured the two bases, no reinforcements will be sent, so there's no need to keep anyone behind.

Talk to Alan in Beth, and you'll be able to control her.
Let's have Alan go and talk to Thomason, and then make both of them guest units.
(We forced the other allied forces to retreat, but there doesn't seem to be any special bonus after clearing the mission.)
Once you recruit Alan, Ichika's troops will charge at you.
If the separated units haven't reunited yet, it might be a good idea to wait a little before approaching them.
The three bases lined up vertically near Ichika's unit will continue to spawn reinforcements from the middle for a while (but not infinitely).
Since we can't subdue them, let's leave someone there.
Thomason and Alan would be suitable candidates.
Ichika is very strong and powerful, and in close combat, she absorbs HP with her weapon.
It would be best to fight from a distance.

Once Desmond has defeated Negan, the second daughter, he begins preparing to retreat.
Make sure to defeat or get close to Desmond beforehand.
If you have collected all the bounty posters up to this point, you will receive the Spriggan (Greatsword, Fame Skill) from the guild after clearing the game.
Negan also has powerful weapons for close-range combat, so it's best to fight him from a distance.

If you investigate the cave with Fang, you can obtain the Bazelard Kai after a mandatory battle.
Make sure to deploy them in advance.

Once you defeat Sandra, more reinforcements will appear.
The magic-using cavalry approaching you are formidable opponents, so it would be best to use the narrow passage below Sandra's base to fight them.

Side Story: Martial Arts Tournament

This map features a battle between only Ophelia and Asmodeus.
Even if Asmodeus is defeated, in the worst-case scenario, Ophelia can win by using a hit-and-run strategy.
By using your Haki at the right time, positioning yourself to avoid being attacked by multiple enemies, and utilizing the entire field effectively, you can achieve victory.

Chapter 15: The March of Fools

Although this map has many ballistas, they won't attack at all thanks to Beth's strategy.
They will attack if you make a move, so it's a little scary, but just ignore them and move forward.
The main enemies in the early stages are flying units and cavalry.

The separated Blue Dragon Squad, who are on the cliff on the right, can be negotiated with in Beth.
If you negotiate, you can force either the ballista near the boss base or the magic unit hiding in the mountains to withdraw.
For the magic-using unit, you can slowly defeat the boss after leaving only the boss alive, so a ballista might be a good choice.

If you continue further, the large number of flying units positioned in the upper right of the map will also retreat. Once this happens, you can take your time to defeat the boss and collect the treasure chests and village on the cliff on the right.

If you have Freeman and Knight Fred talk, Freeman will obtain the Rebellion after a battle event.
If you have the opportunity, steal the Bracelet of First Strike from Theresia beforehand.

Near the mages wielding Sunflame, there is a treasure chest containing a staff that increases speed.
In a nearby village, answering "Islam Dunk" when asked about your favorite manga will earn you 2 military merit points, but nothing else will happen.

Chapter 16: The Battle of Shi Suikan

It's a rather funky stage where you go around burning down villages in your own country.
Any unit can burn down a village.
When you burn down an area, new enemies will appear, so clear out the enemies in that area first, then burn it down once you have a chance.

If you examine the fort where Harper is located to the right of your starting position, you will obtain the Book of Swiftness.
Be aware that you won't be able to obtain it unless you retrieve it within three turns after defeating Harper.

Continue in the same pattern all around, and once you burn down the last village in the northeast, the door to the inside of the city walls will open.
Cavalry will advance towards the units you've burned down, so either confront them with a large group or retreat quickly.

Inside the castle walls, there is a treasure chest containing the gauntlets of a holy knight.

Chapter 17: The Demon General David

First, we'll head to the village in the lower left to rescue Robin.
You can obtain BP by visiting the northern village with Sin.
Since many enemy reinforcements are advancing from the north, let's send a considerable number of forces in addition to Shin.

David uses status effects that reduce your movement speed.
There's no direct danger, but the Lich with the White Album below is troublesome, so take him down as soon as possible.

At the start of turn 4, Ophelia and Asmodeus will arrive from the cave below where reinforcements appear, and they will eliminate the reinforcement spawn point.

If you talk to Robin in Beth, you will obtain the Demon-Slaying Thunderclap Sword, and enemy reinforcements will appear near the boss, rendering most units unable to move.
Only Beth, Goliath, and Ophelia can move.
Be careful about when you talk to Robin.

All that's left is to defeat David with Goliath, who is equipped with the Demon-Slaying Thunderclap Sword.

Final Chapter: The Battle for Maze Castle

As a fundamental requirement, we want to advance Beth's troops as quickly as possible in order to rescue King Lacto by turn 12.
The enemy base located to the left of Beth's group is difficult to destroy, so put Josette in either Goliath's or Beth's unit and go destroy it as soon as possible.
Orlando can be removed by negotiating with Beth, but since it doesn't necessarily mean you can then negotiate with Adelheid, the details remain unclear.
There are many enemies with Pilanzers, so it will be difficult. Make full use of Thomason and Virgil's adjacent escorts as you progress.

The Bishop wielding the Sleep Staff in this stage has zero magic power, so they cannot be put to sleep (is this intentional?).
Be careful of the sorcerer who has Gehenna and eliminate them as soon as possible.

The Maze soldiers that appear in Ophelia's direction can be persuaded to switch sides by negotiating with Ophelia.
However, if the defecting Maze soldiers head north, they will be quickly wiped out by concentrated ballista fire, so it may not be very advantageous.

If you examine the leftmost staircase and the second staircase from the right in the castle's rooms, two doors leading to the throne will open.
As soon as the door opens, ballistas and enemy soldiers are positioned inside.
Units that can attack through walls while investigating the stairs will be easier to eliminate if they are also units that can attack through walls directly.

If you defeat Yakult, he will be resurrected as Demon Yakult.
You can deal a decent amount of damage with attacks other than Beth's Gram, but if you get put into a despair state, your stats will drop and you'll have a hard time.
Let's launch a concentrated attack together.

Unit Usage Impressions - Kingdom Reclamation Route (Spoiler Warning)

This data was obtained by playing on the Traditional difficulty setting.
These are the stats after leveling up to level 30 in a lower-level class, then lowering the level by 5 through a limit break event, and then leveling up again to level 30 before changing classes.
We've also done some further scrutiny.

Goliath
The overall growth rate seems higher and the characters seem tougher compared to the previous version.
Even in the late game, wielding the Demon-Slaying Thunderclap Sword makes him as reliable as David.
Because movement speed is somewhat limited, I used the Book of Swiftness.
Furthermore, since it has high defensive capabilities, teaching it Absolute Defense will allow you to charge into the enemy with greater confidence.

Shin

By changing her class to Forest Ranger, her high mobility and long range allowed her to easily take down ballistas and long-range magic users.
Andras's weapons, the Bolt Arch and Failnaught, are heavy, so unless you strengthen your physique, you won't be able to attack again easily in the later stages of the game.
By equipping the character with the Consecutive Skill and using a rapid-fire bow, you can reliably finish off enemies with absolute defense or blessings in the later stages of the game.

Grace

He consistently performed well as the ace on this route as well.
While its defensive stats are somewhat concerning, the effects of the Shield Axe and its exclusive weapon make it feel quite reliable and not too fragile.

Ricotta

With the White Album, which you obtain towards the end of the game, you'll be able to perform long-range attacks, allowing you to be as effective as Shin.
However, its low mobility and vulnerability to damage make it less effective at long-range attacks than Shin.
There's a dilemma: ultimately, it's more efficient to make Shin act again by having him dance.
As a magic attacker, its destructive power is undeniably excellent.

Josette

By effectively boosting his powers, he became an attacker with exceptional kill potential.
By equipping it with abilities like "Immunity to Special Attacks," "Bowbreaker," "Shield of the Gospel" (immunity to status ailments), and "Bracelet of First Strike," it's possible to use it as a trap by charging into the enemy lines and then counterattacking to wipe them all out.
Because it has many attacks, it rarely misses a hit, making it an excellent attacker.

Beth

You can obtain the royal estoc, Dainsleif, and other powerful exclusive weapons, but Andras's weapon, Apocalypse Now, also has an incredibly powerful absorption attack.
It's a bit fragile, but the Dainsleif's attack reduction is halved, so it should be mostly safe.
By adding Sword Slayer, Spear Slayer, and Axe Slayer, it gained the toughness to be used independently.

- Virgil

Since the Great Pilanzer can be obtained early on, its opportunities to shine have increased considerably.
By properly reinforcing HP, defense, and magic defense with accessories, you can make full use of adjacent guards.
Since movement speed was a major drawback, I changed his class to Armor Knight.
If their growth is poor, it might be a good idea to change their class to Marshal.

Sebastian

This character is helpful in the early stages of the game.
They're difficult to raise, and there's not much need to raise them in the first place, but I used a ton of military strategy manuals to increase the parameters of the entire army... but I don't recommend it.
If you reach a certain level before the route split and trigger the event where you receive a handmade pendant, you can obtain two pendants in total, including the one you receive from the fixed event after the split (however, you cannot pass them on to your companions, so the benefit is quite small).

・Freeman

It's a stable and powerful unit.
While it feels a little underwhelming compared to the other units that have also become stronger, it's still undeniably powerful.
Since he lacks defensive skills compared to the other front-line members, he'll need to compensate for this with things like parrying with his greatsword.
Its offensive capabilities are high, so it has sufficient breakthrough power.

・Theresia

He's the Aaron of this route.
Since I can't store knuckles and I want to carry a lot of staves, it's a bit inconvenient when I need to use the steal skill.
While it's technically possible to attack while ignoring defense, the main goal is to focus on healing and stealing.
I had given the magic talisman to use the steal command to force it onto a strong enemy, but in the end, I never got the chance.

Ophelia

While they initially play a support unit role, this route offers opportunities for them to grow stronger.
A stat increase of 2 or more is a threat.
With immunity to special attacks and sufficiently high base stats, you can fight on the front lines with confidence.

Asmodeus

Its defensive capabilities aren't particularly high, but it gains the ability to attack first when its HP drops below 50%, and since you can prevent enemy attacks by sealing their actions with Cursed Thorn, it has high survivability.
However, it is ineffective against enemies with a range of 3 or more, and its movement speed is not very high.
Since their period of effectiveness is quite limited, it might be best to think of them as primarily a support character providing adjacent defense.

Elbert

This time, I tried changing my class to Fortune Knight.
With its luck stat exceeding 100, this unit has become completely unreliable in terms of battle predictions.
Theoretically, the "luck-based evasion" should always activate, making me invincible, but for some reason that didn't happen (is this a feature?).
Since its exclusive weapon has a range of 1, it's slightly less convenient to use compared to other units.

Enid

While she doesn't have the explosive firepower of Ricotta, she can fight with highly reliable magic attacks.
Considering how busy Ricotta is with dancing, it might have been better to give her the White Album instead.
Unlike the route where monsters appear in droves in the final chapter, the Judgment Cannon's holy power wasn't really utilized effectively.
Like Elbert, it was often used in positions that were slightly further back.

Fang

Although it's a walking unit, it has high mobility, can act again, and has a range of 3, giving the impression that it can advance without any stress.
Because it significantly lowers the parameters of surrounding allies, it must be operated separately, but since it's not tough, I'm worried that if I send it in too far, it won't be able to dodge attacks.
I think it's best to simply accept that they are a lock-picking specialist with combat skills.
