This time, I'd like to write an article recommending the free SRPG game "Graymerca".
First, to clarify who I can recommend these games to, I'll list some of my favorite simulation RPGs.
Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
・Tearing Saga
Berwick Saga
Final Fantasy Tactics
Tactics Ogre
(G Generation series)
And so on.
My criteria for my favorite SRPGs are:
① Is it an engaging story?
② Whether there are appealing characters,
③ Whether there is enjoyment in character development,
④ Is the difficulty level challenging enough?
And so on.
I will write about Graymerka item by item.
Is it a compelling story?
The story was incredibly interesting, and I think it was of a quality rarely seen in recent years.
I was curious to see how the story would unfold, and my motivation to continue playing the game lasted until the very end.
It's been a really long time since I've seen a work with such a compelling storyline (I'm not being specific about that at all).
However, there are many proper nouns in the beginning, which might make it a little difficult to grasp the situation in this world.
Once you get past the initial stages, you'll be able to fully immerse yourself in the story.
Are there any appealing characters?
A great many characters appear, but each one is well-developed, and both allies and enemies are fascinating.
The interactions between allies and between allies and enemies are entertaining, and the exchanges between enemies are also very captivating.
Since this is a war between nations, naturally, there will be battles not only between the factions controlled by the player, but also between other factions.
The details of the battle are quite captivating, making it a very enjoyable read.
Rather than having many memorable quotes, it's the unique way each character speaks that is so striking and memorable.
(My personal favorite characters are Fecten, Oblake, and Krenfu.)

Is there enjoyment in character development?
There's plenty of enjoyment to be had in raising them.
There are characters that are almost essential, characters that you can use or not use, and characters that are difficult to use, but they are fairly well differentiated, so I think you can use the character you like.
The way a character who is initially weak gradually becomes stronger, or how they become dramatically powerful due to some event, is one of the great joys and pleasures of SRPGs.
I want to collect all the conversations between allies on the map, but the limit on the number of units I can deploy makes it difficult, and I always find myself pondering over which units to deploy when the selection screen appears.
Therefore, you'll inevitably want to play through the game multiple times.

Is the difficulty level challenging enough?
You can choose the difficulty level, but I think it's on the harder side.
Because the hit and dodge modifiers based on weapon compatibility are so significant, it's quite difficult to dominate with just one character.
That being said, it's not just a tedious difficulty level; you can definitely clear it if you consider the compatibility between your characters during battle.
Additionally, if you effectively utilize skills such as farming bosses or stealing enemy items, you'll have a fair amount of leeway.
The difficulty level is such that you need to think while you play, rather than just playing aimlessly.
summary
That concludes our introduction to Graymerka.
This is a substantial and lengthy war story.
I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a simulation RPG that you can really sink your teeth into and play.
