神威 -KAMUI- 魔神再臨(フリーRPG)紹介・感想・攻略メモ game
This post can be read in about 5 minutes.

This is an introductory article about the RPG "Kamui -KAMUI- Majin Sairin," which was released as a free game.
This is a meticulously crafted mid-length RPG, with impressive graphics and a well-developed scenario.

It took me about 12 hours to complete the game.

Game Overview

This work was originally released as a paid adult-oriented title, but has been adapted for all ages and made available to the public.
Perhaps because of this, there are some slightly more mature elements, but it can generally be played in a wholesome manner.
Pressing the "Q" key on your keyboard will activate high-speed mode, increasing the game speed.

The gameplay involves repeatedly going through scenario parts (novels), preparing in town, and exploring dungeons to progress through the game.

As shown in the image below, actions within the town are performed using a map-less system where you select actions from a menu.

The dungeon is like a typical RPG, with treasure chests and puzzles to solve as you progress.
A boss is placed every 10 floors, and defeating them will advance the story.

The battles are ultimately a traditional command-based battle system where you fight with a party of four.

Characters will act in order of their SPD (Speed) stat.
Some techniques and spells have SPD modifiers that affect the turn order.

You can choose your preferred equipment from a variety of weapons.
Just like in "Final Fantasy IX," you can learn new techniques and skills by equipping and using weapons.
Once you've learned a skill, you can set it on your character, allowing you to use it even when you've unequipped that weapon.

Each technique has intricately designed movements, reminiscent of the techniques and movements from the Romancing SaGa series.
Since there's a limit to the number of skills you can equip, choosing which skills to keep and which to discard becomes crucial in the later stages of the game as you acquire more skills.

My thoughts (with some minor spoilers)

The scenario part, which unfolds with an adventure game-style screen, was excellent.
Just like in a novel, the descriptions of emotions are very detailed, making it a very engaging read.

The story itself was interesting, with a plot that kept me wanting to know what would happen next.
The events leading up to and after the final boss were interesting, and the meaning of the title was also revealed.
As a story of the protagonists' growth, it incorporates classic elements and is well-structured, giving a sense of reassurance.

The ending leaves you hoping for a sequel, and it was a satisfying conclusion.
There aren't that many characters, but my favorite is definitely Wolsla.
The first half of the story was about Arne's transformation and growth, but the second half can truly be described as the story of Wolsla's growth.
It was a work that I was able to enjoy with a genuine heart.

One thing that bothered me was that when using high-speed mode, it becomes difficult to move just one square on the map.
It's not a major problem since you can switch modes with a single button, but it would have been even better if only the combat could be sped up.
Also, it was a shame that items were practically useless because they couldn't be used during battle.
At best, I only use it to fully restore my HP and EP before a boss fight.
If it could be used during combat, I could have removed the healing skill and used an item instead.

Strategy Notes (Contains Spoilers)

This game isn't particularly difficult, but for those who might find it challenging, I'll write down some strategy notes.

Basically, the front line will use one-handed weapons and shields, the right and left wings will use two-handed weapons, and the back line will use magic.
Since the front line will take more damage, equip them with gear that prioritizes defense.
Having all your allies learn healing magic and refresh spells will make things much easier both during combat and while traveling.
In terms of combat, you can get by simply by attacking physically until past the mid-game.

However, from around the 35th floor onwards, the difficulty of regular battles increases.
As more enemies start using status-altering attacks like severe poison, it becomes important to defeat them quickly with area-of-effect attacks.
The "Grand Brawl" skill, which can be learned with the "Warrior King's Gloves," is a convenient technique that can be activated quickly and wipe out enemies at the start of a battle.
Using this will make earning money much easier until the very end of the game.

また、「モーンブレイド」で習得できる「追加HP回復」は、与えたダメージの一部で、自らを回復できるスキルです。
If you teach this skill to your physical attackers, they will recover health naturally, making it much easier even if you only use physical attacks.

Sandalphon and Metatron, the bosses on the 40th floor, are formidable opponents.
Since the area-of-effect magic attacks are intense, make sure to keep Magic Shield active and teach at least two characters area-of-effect healing magic.
Since the opponent recovers HP every turn, you need to keep dealing a certain amount of damage to them.
If you are afflicted with the skill-sealing status effect, your damage output will decrease, making it difficult to outweigh the amount of healing you receive.
That would be troublesome, so use Elements Barrier or something similar to prevent status ailments.
If possible, we would like as many members as possible to learn this skill through refresher programs.

In subsequent levels, enemy attacks become even more intense.
However, regular battles aren't too difficult if you use area-of-effect attacks.
In boss battles, it's crucial to unleash a barrage of high-damage attacks.
If you can teach your attackers the "Cost Reduction" skill, they should be able to unleash powerful attacks repeatedly, becoming a major source of damage.

If your level is around 60-70, you should be able to defeat the boss from the 50th floor to the hidden boss with ease.

- Character stats upon defeating the hidden boss
Berion

I played an active role as a shield on the front lines.
To be able to equip a shield, I mainly used a one-handed weapon such as a longsword or axe, and in normal combat, I often used diversionary tactics while defending.
When there was an opportunity, I would also have them participate in attacks.

Arne

As an attacker, I mainly used greatswords, and for regular combat, I used hand-to-hand combat.
In battle, it was a major source of damage, and I often continued to use my most destructive technique.
After I taught them how to reduce costs, battles almost always ended before I ran out of EP.

Walsla

As an attacker and healer, I mainly equipped her with a spear.
I primarily used her as an attacker, but also as a healer when healing wasn't sufficient, adapting her role as needed.

Myrteau

As a support character, I handled various roles including healing, area-of-effect magic, and support magic.
Because of her high magical power, the healing magic she used had a large healing effect, making her a reliable resource.
