Woody Fest 2021This is an RPG created with WOLF RPG Editor that has been submitted to the competition."ResaleStoppers"I played it.
The other day, I saw another work by Sakamoto Tomato, "If I could have twelve wishes grantedI enjoyed playing [previous game] so I was really looking forward to playing this one too.

Like previous titles, the game is set in a world adorned with soft, gentle graphics, but the gameplay is primarily an RPG with battles that require puzzle-like strategies.
In Normal mode, the clear time was approximately 4 hours (★Conditions met).
This game is recommended for those who enjoy combat while considering combinations of skills and items.

Game Overview

This game, "ResaleStoppers," tells the story of people joining forces to stop those who engage in reselling.
There is no field map, so in that sense, it can be described as a non-field RPG.
When playing for the first time, you can choose between Normal Mode and Mild Mode.

The game progresses by selecting stages on the main screen, as shown in the image above.
"Story" stages are those that only involve progressing the storyline, while "Quest" stages include battles.
Stages that have not been cleared are displayed in red, and stages that have been cleared are displayed in green.

Before a battle, a party formation screen will appear where you can prepare your party.
You can equip up to two skills that can be used during combat, and up to two pieces of equipment that have effects such as increasing your stats.
However, skills and equipment have a "cost" attached to them.
You cannot engage in combat unless you keep the cost below a certain value.
Because powerful items are expensive, it's difficult to simply equip a team with only strong skills and gear.
You can use the experience points gained in battle to increase the overall level of your party and raise their cost limit.

Combat progresses in units of time called "steps."
The actions of the characters will proceed in the order of the face icons displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.
The number displayed above indicates how many more steps it will be your turn.

Using techniques other than normal attacks consumes MP.
MP accumulates as you progress through steps and when you take damage from enemies.
Since you can't just unleash a barrage of powerful moves right away, you need to consider this when setting up your skills.

Additionally, under certain conditions, enemies will enter an "enraged" state and begin using powerful techniques.
Since you can check the conditions under which enemies become enraged, you need to defeat them in an order that takes that into account.

Additionally, each battle has missions such as "Clear within 50 steps" and "Do not heal your HP."
Completing this mission will reward you with a skill as a bonus, so it's worth trying to complete if you have the time.

After the battle ends, your rank is determined based on how few steps were taken during the battle, and your experience points will increase or decrease accordingly.
Even if you've already cleared a stage, you can try again to complete the mission.
However, there are post-completion rewards that can be obtained by completing the game without ever retrying the same quest.
It might be difficult to aim for this from the start, but if you're confident in your skills, why not try playing with some restrictions?

My thoughts (with some spoilers)

I had a lot of fun playing it.
While it might seem possible to grind experience points by repeatedly attempting the same quest and brute-forcing your way through, I don't think that would allow you to experience the true essence of this game.
Perhaps the most rewarding challenge is attempting to achieve "★ simultaneous completion" of "■ no retries, ◆ no items, ▼ mission completion."

I felt that achieving both simultaneously wasn't difficult if you raised the level and cost to a value that wouldn't interfere with the mission.
In the first playthrough on Normal mode, it didn't feel like a rigid puzzle; rather, it gave the impression of being a puzzle with various solutions as long as you didn't make any strategic mistakes.
For those who have never experienced the fun of puzzle-based combat, this game should be easy to get into and enjoyable.
The fact that there were missions set up gave me encouragement, making me think, "It must be designed so that it can be completed even with these restrictions."

I found the "Burst" system, where all status ailments disappear when a third one is applied, to be new and interesting.
For example, if you apply "Defense Up" to a character that is already in a "Defense Up" state, it doesn't overwrite the previous state, but rather applies it as a second status change. This allows for creative applications in both offense and defense, such as preventing the next enemy's status ailment with a burst, which was a novel feature.

(There is a spoiler for one scene in the latter half of the story.)
The story progresses at a brisk pace, making it lighthearted and enjoyable.
The scene that left the biggest impression on me was when Elmia explained the difference between a merchant and a reseller.

Elmia points out that "merchants are people who sell things to those who don't have access to them in the first place," and "resellers are people who hoard and sell things that are actually easy to obtain."
Resellers have become a social problem, but I think this is the key difference between a reseller and a legitimate merchant.
Although it's not directly related to the story or the game system, this statement resonated with me so much that it stuck with me.

Strategy Notes (Contains Spoilers)

Having completed the main story, I've written down my play records for each quest.
I was able to get S ranks in most of the quests, but there were some quests where I only got A ranks.

・ Normal difficulty
- Do not retry quests that have already been completed.
• Never purchase an item
・▼Complete all missions
(In other words, this is an attempt to get a "★")

Quest 3

Mission: Do not heal HP, keep May's cost 4 or less.
Clear Level 3
Frist: Swift Thrust, Power Slash, Silver Helmet
May: Poison Dagger, Silver Helmet
To prevent the enemy's rage from being triggered, start by attacking the blue one with powerful slashes and other attacks.
Once May can use the Poison Dagger, attack the purple one once to poison it.
Now all that's left is to attack with all our might.

Quest 4

Mission: Complete at level 3 or lower, defeat the blue enemies first.
Clear Level 3
Frist: Power Slash, Silver Met
May: Poison Dagger, Song of Protection, Silver Helmet
Zeke: Power Slash, Heal, Silver Helmet
To make the most of Power Slash, I will conserve my MP until 30 steps have passed.
May prioritizes using defensive songs to reduce the damage she takes.
Zeke should participate in attacks as much as possible, and use heals when allies are near death.
Once you've passed step 30, use Power Slash or Poison Dagger to quickly defeat the remaining enemies.

In the extra stage, focus on reducing the HP of all enemies except the bear, and once you've passed step 30, unleash a final, decisive attack.
Frist used Strength Slash while being strengthened, May used Ice Sword and Heal, and Sieg used Strength Slash and Guardian Song to defeat the enemy.

Quest 5

Mission: Defeat the white enemies first with a cost of 5 or less for Frist, and complete within 70 steps.
Clear Level 4
Frist: Power Slash, Feather Boots
May: Guardian Song, Heal, Silver Met
Sieg: Power Slash, Slow Song
Start by using normal attacks on the white enemies, and May and Zeke will use their songs as soon as they become available.
The strategy is simple: don't specifically aim for bursts, and attack with Power Slash once you've exceeded 30 steps.

Quest 0-2

Mission: Complete within 50 steps, do not heal HP.
Clear level 5, cost 8
Ailey: Lightning speed, gold helmet, feather boots
You can win by using normal attacks normally, and then using Lightning Speed when your MP is full.

Quest 6

Mission: Complete the mission without enraging the enemy, with a total cost of 25 or less.
Clear Level 5
Frist: Lightning Speed, Powerful Slash, Bronze Band
May: Guardian Song, Heal, Silver Helmet, Feather Boots
Elmia: Ice Sword, Slow Song, Bronze Band, Feather Boots
If you defeat the blue enemies whose rage condition is triggered by your HP recovery action, you'll be able to heal without worrying about it, making the later stages of the battle much easier.
After defeating the blue enemy, reduce the red enemy's HP, making sure not to trigger its rage condition, and then defeat it quickly with a powerful slash or similar attack.

Quest 7

Mission: Complete without being knocked out, keep Elmia's cost 8 or less, and do not heal HP.
Clear Level 6
Frist: Power Slash, Gold Met, Feather Boots
Sieg: Power Slash, Defense Song, Feather Boots
Elmia: Ice Sword, Flare, Magical Glasses
If the purple Ragnarok is activated, total annihilation is unavoidable, so first, let's concentrate our attacks on the purple one.
Sieg will use the song of protection once he becomes able to use it, reducing the damage he takes.
When there are many enemies, Elmia should use her normal attack and Flare, and when the number of enemies decreases, attack with Ice Sword.
Hrist and Sieg should refrain from using their power slash until they have exceeded 30 steps, and then unleash a barrage of attacks once they have surpassed that.

Quest 8

Mission: Complete the mission with a total cost of 30 or less, without using any items, and without being knocked out.
Clear Level 7
Frist: Power Slash, Gold Met, Feather Boots
Zeke: Power Slash, Defense Song, Gold Met
Elmia: Ice Sword, Heal, Gold Met, Detox Ring
First, focus your attacks on Lisa and defeat her.
Gordon's Smash Claw is very powerful, so use a defensive song to increase your defense and avoid being defeated in one hit.

Quest 9

Mission: Defeat the white enemies first, complete within 60 steps, and keep a total of 8 or fewer pieces of equipment.
Clear Level 8
Frist: Power Slash, Goldmet
Elmia: Flare, Heels, Magical Glasses
Ailey: Flare, Magical Glasses, Feather Boots
Focus your attacks on the white enemies, and then just unleash Flare when it becomes available.
Since the enemy frequently uses "status progression," the burning status of Flareara can be removed quickly.

Quest 10

Mission: Complete without enraging the enemy, complete without being knocked out, complete within 70 steps.
Clear Level 8
Frist: Power Slash, Gold Met, Power Bracelet
May: Guardian Song, Heal, Silver Helmet, Feather Boots
Ailey: Flare, Magical Glasses, Feather Boots
I defeated them in the following order: the one with lingering regrets → Hanako the jealous one → Tomoko the one filled with remorse.
We just need to concentrate our attacks in sequence and fight.
Tomoko will get angry if you wear heels too much, so use them only when absolutely necessary.

Quest 11

Mission: Complete without being knocked out, complete within 80 steps, complete at level 10 or below.
Clear Level 9
May: Guardian Song, Heal, Silver Helmet, Feather Boots
Zeke: Power Slash, Bronze Band, Soldier Medal
Ailey: Ice Sword, Magical Glasses, Feather Boots
Attacking the trees will enrage them and make them troublesome, so first, take down the tomatoes with single-target attacks.
After that, it will focus its attacks on the tree, but it will copy the attack it just received and use that to attack, so try to copy weaker moves like normal attacks to fight it.

Quest 12

Mission: Complete without being knocked out, with a total of 10 or fewer pieces of equipment, and within 80 steps.
Clear Level 10
Frist: Rainy Sword, Silver Band, Booster
May: Guardian Song, Heal, Silver Helmet, Feather Boots
Zeke: Rainy Sword, Silver Band, Booster
I'll take full advantage of the acid rain and aim for a quick attack with Rainy Sword.
There are many enemies, but their attacks aren't too fierce, so let's fight while boosting our defense with defensive songs.
Enemies that use status progression abilities will revive defeated enemies more quickly, so it might be a good idea to defeat them first.

Quest 13

Mission: Complete within 80 steps, do not use items, complete at level 10 or below.
Clear Level 10
Frist: Rainy Sword, Silver Band, Booster
May: Guardian Song, Heal, Silver Helmet, Feather Boots
Zeke: Rainy Sword, Silver Band, Booster
Let's use the same tactics as in the previous quest and fight with the Rainy Sword.
Enemies who use "Spirit" are troublesome, so I think it's a good idea to target them first.
Don't forget to use defensive songs to boost your defense.

Quest 14

Mission: Defeat the white enemies first, keep Ailey's cost 10 or less, and limit the number of bursts for both allies and enemies to 3 or less.
Clear level 11, cost 10
May: Lightning Speed, Heels, Gold Met, Feather Boots
Zeke: MP Pass, Song of Protection, Gold Met
Ailey: Arrow of Passion, Lightning Speed, Gold Met
Assuming that "Curse of Heaven and Earth" will be used, I aimed to create equipment that would allow me to fight to some extent even if ATK and MAG were reversed.
If the tables turn, Sieg will either use a defensive song or use MP Pass to give MP to Ailey.
Ailey primarily uses fervent arrows to continuously wear down the entire enemy.
If Mei's strengths and weaknesses are reversed, she should focus on lightning-fast attacks.

Quest 15

Mission: Complete within 80 steps, with no more than 3 bursts for both allies and enemies, and with a cost of 5 or less for Frist.
Clear Level 11
Frist: Power Slash, Power Bracelet
Sieg: Power Slash, Heal, Gold Met, Feather Boots
Ailey: Black Sphere, Lightning Speed, Magical Glasses
I used normal attacks for the first 30 steps, and then repeatedly used power slashes after that, defeating it through sheer brute force.

Quest 16

Mission: Complete without losing consciousness, complete within 120 steps.
Clear level 13, cost 13
Frist: Rainy Sword, Gold Band, Soldier Medal
Elmia: Re-heal, Heal, Magical Glasses (useless), Circlet
Zeke: Rainy Sword, Gold Band, Soldier Medal
Since it was raining, I fought using only the Rainy Sword.
It's a back-to-back battle, but I can easily defeat them in the first and second rounds.
For the final enemy, you'll want to keep your HP at full to prepare for its powerful single-target attack.

Difficulty after clearing the game

★Upon clearing the game, you will be able to play in "Extra Mode" difficulty.
The number of steps required to revive both allies and enemies after being incapacitated has been changed to 20.
Therefore, it is necessary to devise a way to avoid leaving gaps between defeating enemies.

Specifically, I found that an effective strategy was to gradually reduce the enemy's HP evenly, and then deliver a finishing blow when they were almost defeated.
Area-of-effect attack skills are a good complement to this strategy.
Not only can you evenly whittle down enemies, but even if defeated enemies revive, you can attack them all at once, minimizing the loss of steps due to enemies reviving.
You'll likely need to re-evaluate your combat strategy between Normal and Extra modes, so it's best to approach each one as if it were a new stage.

The technique that proved particularly useful was Glaciel.
I felt it was a great fit for battles in Extra Mode, as its effectiveness increases when your HP is below half, which is perfect for the latter half of a fight when you want to finish off your opponent.
Below is a partial record of my strategy for Extra Mode.

Quest 1

Equip Frist with Power Slash and Silver Helmet, and May with Ice Sword, Heal, and Silver Helmet.
Successfully reduce the HP of all enemies until you reach step 30.
I'll also reduce the red part until it's almost at the point of getting angry.
Once you've reduced the blue and yellow enemies to the point where they're one hit away from being defeated, you'll take them down while keeping track of their turn order.
After 30 steps, have Frist unleash a barrage of powerful slashes.

Quest 2

Just like in the previous quest, we'll whittle down the enemy's health until they're just one hit away from being defeated.
Once you've reached around step 30 and you're confident you can defeat the enemy in one hit, keep attacking with powerful slashes.
Even before reaching step 30, you can use Power Slash if necessary.

Quest 3

Equip Frist with Power Slash and Silver Helmet, and May with Glaciel and Silver Helmet.
As long as you evenly reduce the HP of both enemies until May can defeat them with Graciel's HP at half or less, there shouldn't be any problems.
Since there are only a few enemies, you shouldn't have too much trouble even if you defeat them one by one.

Quest 4

Hrist uses a powered-up slash, May uses Ice Sword and Heal, and Sieg uses a Guardian Song and a powered-up slash.
Reduce the HP of all enemies except the bear, and once you've passed step 30, use Power Slash to defeat them all at once.
Since the bear's attack power is high, use defensive songs and healing spells to recover health while fighting.

Quest 5

Frist has set up Slash, May has set up Glaciel and Heal, and Sieg has set up Power Slash and Guardian Song.
Reduce her HP evenly, and after step 30, when May's HP drops below half, use Glaciel and other abilities to finish her off.

Quest 0-2

Set the Lightning Speed, Silver Helmet, and Feather Boots.
We'll gradually whittle them down, and then, when the enemy uses their Offensive, we'll drastically reduce their numbers.
Since White recovers with rest, let's leave it for last.

Quest 6

Frist will equip Slash, May will equip Glaciel, and Elmia will equip Flareara and Ice Sword.
After chipping away at their HP to a certain extent, when May's HP drops below half, use Glaciel followed by Flare to finish them off.

Quest 7

Equip Frist and Sieg with Slash Bronze Bands, Elmia with Graciel Magical Glasses, and everyone else with Detox Rings to increase their HP.
Use slashes and normal attacks to reduce the health of all enemies fairly evenly, and finally, when Elmia's HP drops below half, use Graciel to wipe them out.

Quest 8

Frist will equip Power Slash, Sieg will equip Power Slash - Guardian Song, and Elmia will equip Black Sphere - Heal.
For the first 30 steps, focus on attacking with slashes, and defeat Lisa's side first.
Lisa will revive while you're fighting the dragons, but in that case, attack them all at once with slashes and defeat her again and again.

Quest 9

Frist will be equipped with Giraslash, Elmia with Graciel Heel Magical Glasses, and Ailey with Graciel and Magical Glasses.
Since you need to defeat the white enemies first, you should start by whittling down their HP, and once you've accumulated a certain amount of MP, use Glaciel to finish them off.
There's a high chance they'll revive as their condition progresses, but you can just ignore that and hit them all with area-of-effect attacks, and you'll be fine.

Quest 10

Equip Frist with the Rainy Sword, May with Glaciel and Heal, and Irie with Glaciel and Ice Sword.
The enemy's attacks aren't that fierce, so I think you'll have enough time to chip away at their health evenly and then finish them off with Glaciel.

Quest 11

May will equip Glaciel and Heal, Sieg will equip Giraslash, and Irie will equip Glaciel and Ice Sword.
Don't worry about the tree entering an enraged state; just use normal attacks like Graciel to whittle it down so that only the actions copied by the record are overwritten.

Quest 12・13

Just like in the normal version, Frist and Sieg are equipped with Rainy Sword and Silver Band, while May is equipped with Glaciel.
All that's left is to unleash Graciel's attack once May's HP drops below half.

Quest 14

May and Irie will get the Glaciel Goldband Hard Jacket set, and Zeke will get the Guardian of the Spirit Goldmet Hard Jacket set.
Anticipating the curse of heaven and earth, we equip magic characters with gold bands that increase ATK, aiming to boost their MAG after the curse is cast.
Due to Graciel's characteristics, there is no need to heal her HP, so we will make sure to extend the duration of the defense boost from Spirit's Guardian Song.
As long as you pay attention to the condition of having three or fewer bursts, you should be able to defeat it without too much trouble.

Quest 15

Frist will equip Power Slash and Power Bracelet, Sieg will equip Iron Hammer, Gold Band and Booster, and Irie will equip Black Sphere, Magical Glasses and Super Booster.
From step 30 onwards, Frist uses Power Slash, Sieg uses Iron Hammer when HP drops below half, and Irie just keeps using Black Sphere to overwhelm the enemy.
The clear level was 11.

Quest 16

Equip Frist with the Rainy Sword, Gold Met, and Soldier Medal; Elmia with the Heal, Ice Sword, Gold Met, and Circlet; and Sieg with the Power Slash, Guardian Song, Gold Met, and Soldier Medal.
For the first battle, you should be fine as long as you use the Song of Protection before Rocksword appears.
In the second battle, the strategy is to defeat the enemies by mainly using Rainy Sword, Power Slash, and Ice Sword, focusing on reducing their numbers.
The enemies will likely respawn along the way, but if you use Rainy Sword to hit multiple enemies at once while the other two take them down one by one with single-target attacks, you should be able to catch up.
In the third battle, I'll attack with all my might.
The Great Glacier of the Underworld is terrifying, so before it enters its enraged state, make sure you're fully prepared with defensive songs and Heal All to face its attack.
If the starting step for the third battle is around 80, I think you should be able to make it.

Even if you achieve a star in Extra Mode, it seems there won't be any further bonuses.
