This is an article introducing the mystery adventure game "The Lingering Heat of the Chandelier" by Mr. Le Favé.
This game, like Ace Attorney, involves pointing out contradictions with evidence and advancing the argument.
He has released many works up to now, but his early work wasFigure Detect」「Doll RecollectIt's a work in the style of "[...]".
The difficulty level is quite high, but the feeling of satisfaction when you manage to find the correct answer is incredible.

The completion time was approximately four and a half hours.

Game Overview

The story follows fallen noblewomen who are trapped in a mysterious mansion and must solve a series of murders that occur there.
The exploration part involves exploring the mansion, and the discussion part involves choosing options to progress through the story.

The general flow is: scenario part → exploration part → incident occurs → crime scene investigation → discussion part → scenario part...
The time between the incident occurring and the discussion segment is very short, making it a stress-free experience.

In the discussion portion, we will present evidence that contradicts the statements made.
First, you choose which statement to challenge in the first option, and then you present the evidence in the second option.
If you answer correctly, the discussion will advance to the next stage; if you fail, your "confidence" will decrease by 1.
If your confidence level drops to zero, it's game over.
However, save points appear very frequently, and a certain amount of confidence points are restored upon correct answers, making retries easy.

Let's uncover the truth by repeating this process.

Review (no spoilers)

I completed both routes to the very end.
The difficulty level was a bit high, but that made the feeling of accomplishment when I finally cleared it all the more rewarding.

At first, I was confused during the discussion part because I didn't know which option to choose or what questions were being asked.
In fact, there were times when I didn't know what the correct answer was and just tried everything to get through it.
Since there are many problems with a number of possible solutions that can be solved by brute force, I think this is somewhat acceptable.
However, a third option may sometimes appear, so a brute-force approach can be difficult in certain situations.
In that case, I felt it was important to narrow down the possible combinations of suspects by having a rough idea of who the culprit might be.
The key to finding the right answer is to always keep in mind that "you are choosing only the points you want to oppose."

For example, consider the following options.
① Person A: "I didn't do it!"
② Person B: "I think A has an alibi, so it's impossible that he committed the crime."
③ Person C: "Only A had the weapon, so A must be the culprit."

Now, let's consider a scenario where we want to steer the argument towards the conclusion that A is the culprit.
Now, let's consider which of the following statements (①-③) would prove that A is the culprit.

In option ①, A is asserting his innocence, so choosing this option and opposing it would lead to accusing A of being the culprit, which is appropriate.
② is a defense of A.
Therefore, choosing this option and opposing it would also be appropriate, as it would amount to claiming that A is the culprit.
③ points out that A is the culprit.
Choosing this option and opposing it would mean defending A as not being the culprit, making it an inappropriate choice to oppose.

Therefore, the correct answer is either ① or ②, and you should then check the following options in order.
I don't think I could have cleared it without trying every single method, so I hope these methods will be helpful.

Each character is unique, and I think you'll naturally get to know what kind of person they are.
While the main focus of the story is the mystery aspect, since it is a murder case, there must be a reasonable reason for the motive.
I felt that the characters' motivations were explored in depth and their emotions were thoroughly depicted at key points, so that I didn't feel any inconsistencies in their actions.

Previous worksFigure Detect」「Doll RecollectI think it's a more challenging mystery adventure that requires careful deduction than a typical story.
Those who choose to play should be prepared for a challenge.
