Manga "Uramareya" (by Tetsu Kusumoto) - Introduction and Review (All 8 Volumes)

憎悪 Manga and anime
This post can be read in about 3 minutes.

Lately, I've had a strong urge to read manga, and I've been reading a lot of them on my smartphone.
When using e-book apps, the homepage often features suggestions like "Recommended manga for you," which learns your preferences from your purchase history and is quite helpful.
If you just want to read a little bit to get a feel for the work, it's convenient because you can usually read a few pages for free.

This time, I'll be writing an article about a manga that features a unique job called "The Vengeance Specialist."
(Complete in 8 volumes)

introduction

The protagonist is Jun Kiritani, an honest and diligent young man who works in customer service for a large corporation.
Kiritani is fired from the company he was working for and is then scouted by the president of a company called "TIE Services".
That companyThis company, commonly known as the "Grudge-Making Company," does work by manipulating clients' hatred towards them. That's it.

For example, we receive requests to act as intermediaries in companies to announce layoffs and to shoulder the resentment of those employees.
In such cases, if the employee is pushed too far, the revenge agent might end up getting stabbed instead, but in the sense that the client wasn't stabbed, it can be considered a success.
This is a simple request, but many requests gradually change drastically from the relationships revealed at the beginning of the episode.
I wouldn't call it a plot twist, but it serves as a lesson that you shouldn't blindly believe everything people say.

The man who acts as Kiritani's mentor and shows him what it truly means to be a "grudge-maker" is a man named Mikami.
Migami, who sometimes resorts to dirty tactics to complete his requests, often clashes with the honest and naive Kiritani.

However, they gradually come to understand Kiritani's methods to some extent and slowly begin to accept them.
I think Kiritani's growth process in this part of the story is one of the highlights of this film.

thoughts

I found it moderately interesting.
There aren't many long episodes, so each story is almost self-contained, making for a well-paced and engaging read.
The client's personality often changes drastically between their first appearance and the latter half of the story, which made it interesting to read.

However, because the members of "TIE Services" possess superhuman abilities, the story often settles into convenient, manga-esque plot devices rather than pursuing realism.

In recent years, there have been many manga series that deal with unusual jobs (such as "Ushijima the Loan Shark," "Gedou no Uta," and "Death Sweeper"), but I feel that this work has a lot of manga-like good-versus-evil stories.
Therefore,There were few episodes that left a bad taste in my mouth, and I had a positive impression after reading it.

From the middle of the game onwards, there were a lot of similar requests, and it felt a bit repetitive.
Nevertheless, the fact that it wasn't a simple, brute-force solution, but rather a method to make the opponent direct their hatred towards oneself, was quite thought-provoking.
