For a year and a half after my child was born, I took a break from Tenhou (an online mahjong platform) and hardly played mahjong at all.
However, when a new book is published by an author I trust, I can't help but want to read it.
So, this time, we'll be looking at a book written by Mr. Uzaku about tile efficiency."Uzaku-style Mahjong Learning: Tile Efficiency"I will briefly introduce it.
The positioning of this book
This book isReference book on tile efficiencyI think that's how it will be positioned.
For those who learn best by solving many problems and memorizing them through practice, I recommend "301 Essential 'What to Discard' Problems" or "300 Masterpiece 'What to Discard' Problems" over this book.
If you're the type of person who prefers to understand the basics using a reference book before tackling problems, then I recommend reading this book and then moving on to a problem set.
This one book is all you need! "301 Essential Mahjong Discard Schemes" (Author: G. Uzaku, Editor: Makoto Fukuchi) - Recommended Mahjong Strategy Book
Who would you recommend this to?
I felt this book is recommended for beginners to intermediate players who want to systematically learn about tile efficiency.
If you've never heard of terms like "5-block theory" or "2-head theory," you'll find a lot to gain from this book.
Even advanced players will find this book useful for checking details and reviewing, as it systematically and carefully summarizes tile efficiency.
About the content
The content is divided into the following chapters:
Chapter 1: Blocks
Chapter 2: Head
Chapter 3: Tarts
Chapter 4: Complex system
Chapter 5: How to find and count waiting items
Chapter 6: Techniques
Chapter 7: Efficiency of Singing
For those familiar with reading mahjong strategy books, simply looking at the titles of these chapters will give you a good idea of what they're about.
Each page presents an example problem related to the theme, along with the answer and its explanation.
thoughts
Since I had already read "301 Standard 'What to Discard' Problems" and "300 Masterpiece 'What to Discard' Problems," there weren't many new discoveries for me.
However, since I haven't completely mastered the previous two books, reading this book served as a review and allowed me to solidify the information in my mind from a different perspective.
With so many good books like these coming out, I feel like the level of online mahjong is improving.
Conversely, if you thoroughly read these kinds of books, you'll have more opportunities to gain an advantage over mahjong players who don't.
I've also dropped from 6th dan to 5th dan, so I'm hoping to get back up to 6th dan quickly and challenge for 7th dan.
A collection of articles on improving your mahjong skills, techniques, mental game, Tenhou (online mahjong platform), etc.

It's been a long time.
I was able to clear Grandseal Chronicle by referring to this walkthrough.
That was very easy to understand. Thank you very much.
I really enjoyed Granseal Chronicle.
It was a fantastic job.
Since I played on Elite difficulty, I gained experience points like crazy, so it was incredibly fun to needlessly level up lower-level characters that I don't even use and max them out.
Next, I'm thinking of doing Carton Fine and a new theory about magical girls.
It might be a bit premature, but the Dragons are doing really well this year!
Anyway, he hits a lot, so it's fun to watch him.
I hope they continue at this pace.
Thank you for your comment, Mr. Davidoff.
Congratulations on clearing Granseal Chronicle!
I'm so happy to see that you've steadily completed the games I've featured on this blog.
I think both Carton Fine and the New Theory Magical Girl will be quite challenging, but please do your best.
I feel that this year's Dragons team is truly the strongest they've been in recent years.
While there are some concerns about the starting pitchers, the batting lineup is in good form, and the relief pitchers are also showing signs of recovery, making it an exciting game to watch.
I really hope they can make it into the A-class this year.
Just when I praised them for being strong, the Dragons went on a three-game losing streak...
I never imagined the Carp, who were in such a bad state, would recover their form so quickly.
We really need to avoid losing streaks on enemy territory.
