Introducing Misen's Taiwan Ramen (Fresh Noodle-Style Instant Version)

This post can be read in about 2 minutes.

Are you familiar with Taiwanese ramen, which originated in Nagoya?
The restaurant that first served Taiwanese ramen was called "Misen".
The Taiwanese ramen here is extremely spicy, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves spicy food.

(Taiwanese ramen at Yaba branch)
I once bought an instant version of Misen's Taiwanese ramen at a kiosk in Nagoya Station.
I remember being incredibly impressed when I made and tasted it; it was almost indistinguishable from the restaurant version.

By the way, my favorite is the Taiwanese ramen at Yaba branch near Osu.
One of its characteristics is that the taste varies from store to store,The Taiwanese ramen at Yaba branch has a soy sauce-based soup with an abundance of chili peppers and garlic, and just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

What I often bought at that kiosk was a product where the soup came in a clear retort pouch and the noodles were the fresh noodle type.
It was very easy; all I had to do was boil the noodles, heat up the soup, and pour it over them.
And the soup tasted exactly like my favorite from the Yaba branch, but without the garlic, which I absolutely loved (of course, it's even better with the garlic).

I tried ordering it online in search of that taste, but it was similar to the product I used to love, yet completely different, and I was quite disappointed.
Although I was disappointed this time, it was still pretty tasty, so I'll write an article about it.

Overview

The box looks like this, and it contains enough noodles and soup for two servings.

How to make it

It's exactly as written here.
Apparently, you're supposed to prepare separate water for boiling the noodles and for making the soup, but it seems you can also use the same water for boiling the noodles for the soup.
It's specifically written at the bottom of the instructions.

thoughts

My impression is that it was reasonably tasty.
The soup is quite spicy, so it packs a punch.
The noodles are fresh, and I feel they have a texture similar to those at the original restaurant.

However, the portion of noodles isn't very large, so you might find it a little unsatisfying.
At around 500 yen per serving, it's rather expensive for instant ramen.

It was delicious for Taiwanese ramen.

However, if you ask me, "Is this Misen's Taiwanese ramen?", I'd honestly have my doubts.
It feels like a completely different product just because Misen is supervising the production.

Misen Fujigaoka branch operatesMisen NetLooking at their website, it seems like this online store is the one selling the "real thing."

It seems to be quite popular, and it's not uncommon to have to wait one to two months for delivery.
I'm thinking of trying this one next, and hopefully I can share my thoughts about it then.
