I read it because it was recommended online and it only has 5 volumes.
Of all the manga I've read recently, this one was by far the most interesting.
Without any drawn-out or unnecessary pacing, this masterpiece packs a variety of enjoyable elements into just five volumes.
introduction
This is a science fiction story about nine boys and girls who, due to a sudden accident, are sent to the far reaches of space and must cooperate to return to their homeland.
While it's based on science fiction, it incorporates various elements such as survival, suspense, and mystery.
The artwork has a modern, clean, and beautiful style, making it easy for anyone to appreciate.
Because the art style was so unpretentious, I had the preconceived notion that the content would also be rather bland, but I was completely surprised.
Every detail and setting is meticulously crafted, and the suspense is portrayed with great precision.
While the personalities of the main characters, including the passionate protagonist Kanata, are fairly typical, other aspects of the story defy expectations.
The story incorporates foreshadowing and narrative tricks from the very beginning, and their meanings are revealed in the latter half.
Moreover, the gags are quite sharp, and I can confidently say that it's by far the funniest manga I've read recently.
thoughts
With only five volumes in total, it was an easy series to start reading.
The story was incredibly engaging, with virtually no dull moments.
The early stages of the game, where you stop at various planets to gather food, reminded me of the "Nostalgia" chapter in Osamu Tezuka's "Phoenix."
Each planet has its own unique characteristics and ecosystem, giving it the feel of a classic sci-fi adventure story.
The part where the communication device was destroyed was a suspenseful moment reminiscent of Moto Hagio's "The Eleven!".
Furthermore, the plot developments in the latter half, filled with intrigue and conspiracies, had an appeal reminiscent of "Terraformars," and I felt that all the elements of entertainment were fused together.
For those who have been reading various manga for a long time, some of the plot developments might seem familiar.
However, I hope that this kind of appeal will reach younger people who are not yet familiar with it.
It's difficult to convey the appeal of this work without giving away spoilers, so please forgive me if my review ends up being vague.
